    It already has to track every account that reads the threadmark, that's how the little thing that says new works and how the forum knows what post to put you at if you go to the first unread one.

    Mandatory tags are not a thing. Unless someone is actively doing something against the rules in them the mods do not care what you put in your tags. You can have no tags if you want. QQ is not AO3, tags are for making your story easier to find not for filtering out stories you don't want to see.
