  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

    22. Just Too Late Teralel stood in the middle of the street, looking up at the great brownstone building rising before her. It was here, she thought to herself. She had finally found it. This was where the demon lords Malakar and Carassiso were. This was where she'd strike the final blow and...

    21. The Silver City Leo goggled at the sight of the Silver City as they passed through the massive gates. NeuroWave had turned Brightwood into an actual bustling town, and added quests to Greenhollow that he never knew existed. That had already impressed him. But it was nothing compared to...

    Threadmarks: 20 - How Rude

    20. How Rude Greenhollow really had been occupied by the enemy. It was much different from how Malakar had last seen it, when it was a smoking ruin; different even from how Leo had seen it in the game, when it had been overgrown by strange pulsing vines crawling up from the earth and...

    19. Second Invasion Leo stared at the carton of eggs in his left hand, and at the butter he held in his right. The image of a buxom milkmaid smiled up at him from the butter. He tried to do some mental arithmetic in his head, grabbed another carton of eggs, and put them in the grocery cart...

    18. Get Strapped Hal Mortensen strolled through the aisles of his pawn shop. He ran a hand over a rack of guitars, brought in by dumb parents whose kids had only tolerated a month of lessons before giving them up. He smiled at the display cases full of old wedding rings and watches, and...

    17. Just a Video Game A constant, distant patter of explosions, a deadly thunder, a storm that couldn't, wouldn't stop. The screams of the bleeding, the sick, they dying; the whining zip of bullets passing overhead. The awful grinding rumble of killing machines, like the growl of some...

    16. Other Worlds "Damn you!" Malakar cried. "Damn you, Carassiso! I should have let the angels tear out your guts!" Carassiso cackled wildly. "Suffer, fool! Now you see who has the superior mind! Death take you!" Sweat rolled down Malakar's forehead; Carassiso's wicked smile blurred as...

    15. Doubt, Part Two "I see you've returned," said the Heart of Darkness. Trias said nothing. He only hovered silently at the edge of the terrible vortex over which the prison of the Enemy was suspended. He was close enough that his wings, a great mantle of unbearable brightness, felt the...

    14. It's Probably Fine Officer Denton sat with his laptop open before him, his eyes pinned to the screen. He had been sitting like this for the past thirty minutes. He was in his home, at the kitchen table, with piles of thick manilla folders stacked up on either side of him. A lone ant...

    13. Old-Fashioned Fun "See, now, wasn't that satisfying?" Carassiso whispered. They lay on straw cots in the room they had been given at the shrine. Really, it could barely be called such; it was little more than a cabin, just a bit cleaner than the others. Nevertheless, when Beild had first...

    12. Quest Hooks Following the thin streams of smoke in the sky, Malakar and Carassiso did not have to walk long before they were greeted with the sight of a small village nestled in a forest glade. Simple wooden cabins lay along a small stream; young girls carrying washed linens walked down...

    11. Brightwood Brightwood was…different from how Mary and Leo remembered it. BladeKing: Conquest of the Shattered Realms was like many video games that described their game worlds as 'expansive' and 'realistic', and made it a big selling point that you could enter every building and talk to...

    Threadmarks: 10 - First Invasion

    10. First Invasion Malakar had time to think "Wait, that wasn't right," before he was tumbling down the side of a hill. It wasn't a particularly pleasant hillside to be tumbling down. There were lots of rocks and thornbushes and, where there weren't, the ground was covered in rotten dead...

    8. Doubt Trias drifted through the hallowed halls of Heaven, feeling lost. It wasn't hard to feel lost in Heaven. You weren't supposed to, of course. You were supposed to be filled with a glow of utter contentment and peace, knowing that here, at least, all was as it should be. But Trias was...
