    That brings to mind the anecdote I heard about Arnold Schwarzenegger and his buddies doing landscaping as a side hustle to get paid for cardio. Unfortunately, it seems that pro racing in this universe is mostly limited to highschool so meaningful employment is less realistic.

    Given how they are rather athletic and do a lot of singing and dancing, I imagine that a lot go into performance arts of some kind. I imagine that the corporate music industry is dominated by retired racers.

    Right. Missed that part. I thought she was just looking at it like a psycho totally normal person. Though now I wonder why she has a metal prop sword at all instead of a plastic one that would weigh less and be less dangerous in case of a fall.

    Sword scabbards aren't made of metal. They are made of wood/leather. The "shing" sound is a Hollywoodism and if it does make that sound, it means you are fucking up the sword.

    Look at birth rates in developed nations, and now realize that someone in the wealthy parts of America would be one of the poors in the wider galaxy. They aren't going to be making too much higher than replacement for their population.
