You know I'm now headcanoning that the Princess Raging Bender featured a song. You can't get Berry Punch together with a Princess on an epic bar crawl across Ponyville and Canterlot and not have them sing a spontaneous song about alcohol. This was Berry Punch's ultimate moment where she lived her cutie mark! This was her big musical number!

At this phase, Steppes has basically started into the face of his own mortality, and has realized that both he as an individual pony and ponies like him (mercenary nobles/gangsters) are facing their last days. Even if he doesn't actually die soon, he is still genuinely remorseful for what he's done to Velvet, so it would be kindest to at least not actively resent him.

At the very least I would not accept anything less than Rarity boutique. She deserves some of Velvet's attention and she even have Forge to give her some understanding of process. Cadance can join process too!

Naturally, the only musical numbers that Velvet may take part of in Ponyville, she has to not remember. Might meet Pinkie otherwise.
