Gentlemen! (and Ladies) Lets talk about a change to the dislike section. The "I don't like people not giving me cigarettes" part is childish and pushy. We may be pushy, but not about getting things. Its more fun to "acquire" them once we've been told no than it is to complain about it.

 

I see where you're going, but the snappy way I can think of to encapsulate this is essentially admitting to thievery. Like, "I have a love/hate relationship with people who don't give me what I want. On one hand, I hate being denied. On the other hand, I love taking stuff from the people who deny me what I want!"

Normally I'd agree with you, I thought the same thing when I first thought of it, but in this instance we will have just said that one of our hobbies is fucking with people.

 

Why not just say nothing then? We ask him if we can bum a cig in the line before. He hasn't even had time to say no yet. I posted an alternative with my vote, but I'd be open to more eloquent suggestions too.

 

You don't think we'll be giving him time to say no right after asking him if we can have one?

 

A) We do. He says no. The next thing out of our mouth is that we dislike that.
B) We do. He says yes. The next thing out of our mouth is that we'd dislike that if he hadn't.
C) We don't. We tell him before he even has a chance to answer that we'll dislike him saying no.

Any way you cut it it ends up sounding spoiled and/or pissy.

Oh yeah, on the topic of Shout-Outs. Was the C-Rank Disengage obvious FSN already called, and the I Am Captain Planet one? I assume Guile picked up most of the easy ones to get his slashes. Land of Interpretive Dance is also probably a Ninja Science reference so he got those. The "Welcome...the the real world," was pure Matrix too. The whole inception thing is such a gimme it shouldn't count for anything.

Here Comes The Sun is obviously a Hinata reference, but reminds me of Black Hole Sun the song.

Sanosuke, actually. Incidentally, he's rather disappointed by the way you ended up a genjutsu-focused grad; he feels you were poorly-served by the school system as it stands and that you would've had a great run as a gentaijutsu fighter. If he could've back then, he'd have skipped you to his third- or fourth-year classes, but that kind of thing is paradoxically frowned upon in peacetime.

The staff has listened to him bitch about it more than once as part of his larger grudge against the administration.

The worms in the brain bit reminded me of the fic Project Horizons, MC goes nuts and starts feeling like there's a radroach in her brain. I'm guessing all the fics are referencing some other thing.

 

The worm-imagery was actually inspired by my childhood nightmares about my brain being consumed by prions.
