So... I scrolled down to the bottom of my steam library and for some reason I have TW: Warhammer III? Wut? I never bought it? I don't see any notification of a gift or free play event? What is going on?

So PB is an amazing game you play in slow mo. It's really great but for years people been asking for full replay. Now ... now it's finally here,

They did a thing recently where if you own Warhammer I or Warhammer II you can play Immortal Empires using III. You won't have access to III's factions but you can play Immortal Empires with the factions you do own and benefit from reworks if they have any.

How transparently DLC bait. Oh sure, we'll give you the base game, but if you actually want to play as someone other than the four base races start forking over the cash.

Oh it is absolutely DLC bait. You also don't get the Warhammer III races, you have to buy the upgrade pack for that.

But hey the race reworks are generally great so it's not as if you don't get something out of it.

Though Bretonnia still ain't got shit.

TBF, Bretonia doesn't have any shit that's left. Like, basically all of their units from the tabletop have already been added to the game, barring a few characters.

I had something similar happen. When I bought a new laptop, the one I use now, and checked on my Steam Library to give it the ol' stress test to see what it could run that previously lagged, because I'm not good with specs, I noticed I had Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord in my library.

I never bought it, since I had known my old laptop couldn't run it. But it turns out a Clanmate bought it for me and sent it to me as a gift, and I had probably just forgotten about the notification. Even though, to this day, I can't remember ever seeing one. Another friend later gifted me The Dwarves (the game of the book by Markus Heitz), where I actually do remember getting a notification.
 
after getting sick of Skyrim's writing when playing for research for a fic, I decided to boot up Kingmaker. It's been fun (level 2 Monk, just left the Trading Post after the attack), but the open map with the 90 day time limit is giving me decision paralysis lol.

90 days is lots of time for exploring the available map. Kingmaker as a whole is pretty generous with time for its arbitrary, module based time limit.

Comparing the rosters, only things missing are Carcassonne Sheperds, Herrimaults, Grail Monks, Foot Knights, Hermit Knights, and Trufflehounds. First is polearm infantry with bows, second is longbowmen/crossbowmen, third would work best as a hero unit, fourth is heavy infantry, fifth would either be heavy infantry or hero unit, and sixth would be warbeasts.
You don't play Brettonia for the footsloggers and that's all that remains to be implemented in their roster.
