New Eridu is already a chaotic place as it is. With secret cabals, conspiracies, and everyone and their mother having some world-ending secret. All while hollows loom in the background.

But those are just problems unique to native residents. For the jujutsu sorceress Meikai, it's doubly so as she holds a power not native to eridu, and there are plenty of powers that want to use her for good or ill. But with the ten shadows, hacking skills and a decent business, Meikai should be fine... right?

This was made in inspiration of Shadow of Teyvat, and its central premise.
I am not trying to rip it off; I want to try and make this its own thing.

POV: Meikai Satokawa

The life of a sorcerer is difficult; it's grueling, unending, and soul-sucking. One wrong move and you're dead, one bad choice and there is no restart, but even then, luck can still cuck you wi-

"*Eating noise* Noooooooo!" Sounds from the video game on my computer.

Oh gabe dammit! I was so close to beating my endless record! What sadist throws multiple gargants down one lane?!

I then push myself away from my desk, groaning due to HAX RNG, and I was so close too, just one more wave! I knew I should have gotten the cob cannon instead of the cherry bomb.

*Groan noises*

I put my hands over my face, pushing my glasses up and messing my lime green hair.

I'm currently sitting in my room, filled with video game posters and collectable gained by grinding, a very comfortable bed with some plushies and fluffy blankets, a dresser to store my clothing and across from my bed and pass my closet is a TV on a stand to play consol games, with me sitting at a desk for both work and play due to me having a computer here, tricked out with top of the line computer for me to use. Worth every dollar- I mean Denny. Gabe forgot I'm in another world. I thought that after 4 or 5 months, I could remember what to do. Anyway, aside from my shoebox of a bedroom, across from the door in front of me is another bedroom I've been using for storage but it still has everything in there. To the right is a staircase to the lower floor and a ladder to the roof, to the left is the kitchen/living room/shikigami & bangboo living area. And of course, a bathroom. All having green striped wallpaper walls.

Even though my doggos are from my technique, I still want them to live happy lives. So, I made two beds for them. They aren't summoned at the moment to save Mana but better to save it when a random event happens and I have to fight some mobs.

'Welp I guess I should head check on the store I left AFK.' I get up from my seat, come out of my bedroom and down the spiral stairs to the lower floor.

The bottom half of my place is an arcade, video game store and psudo internet café called Byte Dance that I own! The stairs go down into a backroom-styled area with boxes filled with video games and parts for computers and arcade machines, along with an actual arcade machine or two in need of maintenance. I guess I should do those side quests to get them up and running. The room has three doors, two leading into the rest of the building to the north and west of the stair case, and one into an alleyway.

I proceed through the northern door and exit into the store area. This L shaped room is where the actual storefront is located. Going out of the north door leads one into the store section of Byte dance. Where there are shelves of video games to peruse from indie to tops, all with custom labeling done by yours truly, before heading to the counter to be rung up, or to head to the internet café part to test out a demo. The counter itself itself has a few bobble heads on it, alongside other gaming paraphernalia. That also goes for the rest of the store, as on the mute blue walls are posts for upcoming or released games alongside neon lights and other things hanging on the walls.

Speaking of the counter it is manned by one of my two very cute and reliable bangboo. What are those you may ask? Well, some with very good eye for skins coded robots to look like cute bunnies that speak in Ehnas, only thing that don't make em S tier is that they aren't fluffy. Which is a shame because then they would achieved honored cuteness.

Unfortunatly bangboo fur is a rare cosmetic, alongside English language modules and pre made vehicles.

The bangboo maning the counter now is Byte-boo, he came with the place after I inherited it. He has the black body exterior wearing a green and black shirt, alongside a jacket with the shop's logo on it. And below the ears topped with green his eyes are green and unlike most most of his kind made up of multiple squares in a… square shape.

He turns to me and asks "ehna na nhu? (Hey boss, you need something?)"

"Nah I'm fine, how is grinding for dennies going?"

"ehn na na. (it's fine boss, sales are steady, though not a lot of people staying.)"

"Well it is a school day so most of our players would be off doing the main quest instead of a side one." I explained to BB.

But then I hear my neighbor talking "I wouldn't fret about it, come the afternoon foot traffic should pick up."

I look straight ahead. Going that way would pass a rack of games, the front door and a few claw machines; there would be an open window connecting to my neighbor's business.

The business being from a café chain call 'coff café' and it's owner or operator tin master.

In the window is the metal mustached head of tin master, cleaning a cup in his hand with a white rag. He then continues saying "Usually come 3:00pm students get out of school, especially since tomorrow is a weekend."

Well that seems nice but maybe I should hit up BB for any commissions, can't be too careful.

"That's great, any plans of getting out of 4th place?"

Tin master, then gets fired up saying pumping his coffee cup into the air "That washed out has been will never be ready for the 4th tournament. I will defeat my rival, heck I may even beat Flagship."

"Yeah you go buddy!" Even though they share the same model, thankfully their personalities have differences.

God what would a sorcerer if they were playing the game I'm playing, or my master, he would probably drop a cool line like 'tis not the path you walk, it's the path thou does it' or something like that… then again he might RP as a wandering sword, killing the wicked. Eh not my skill tree.

Anyway "Well, I guess I have to taste your next update then, assuming nothing crazy happens this year."

I remember election day, my god was that a mess, especially for me… well speaking of which I guess I have too hit up my quest giver to see if there are any new quests to get.

"Well don't worry, if all else fails you can still get your usual here. Not to mention I have a new shipment of cocao products to use, all fresh from ceres quarter."

Mmmmhhh mochachinno- Ack don't day dream me, there are still side quests to do before the main quest.

So I then say "That sounds amazing, but I have to go do a daily real quick, see you tomorrow man."

"You can handel the horde Byte?"
"ehn na nu ehn na (ye)"
I then head through the door and back upstairs into my room, from there I lean on a wall, pull out my phone, open up knock knock and shoot off a message too

He picks up and I hear "Yo?"
Slenderfluffy4: "Heya BB is there any quests for me?"

BrazenBull: "Hey, SB! And what exactly are you looking for?"

Slenderfluffy4: "Eh, just my usual dallies, fetch quests, mob clearing, stuff like that."

BrazenBull: "Eh, just give me a minute; I've got a lot of requests to comb through. Any specific hollow you want?"

Slenderfluffy4: "Ehhhh I want to make this quick, so ballet again 4 me.

BrazenBull: Are you sure? With all the stuff revolving around lemnian and its companions, it's not the best idea, especially with pubsec's second wind.

Slenderfluffy4: "Hey chillax, I played stealth games before, not to mention I'm no pushover."

BrazenBull: "Alright! I'll take a look, but be careful, m8."

I put down my phone to wait, ahh old reliable smartphone, glad I spent time testing my technique digitally. I wouldn't be able to change the code without my sweet puppers and had to buy a phone, and grind in Faunus quarter, and no- Ok why did the older members scoff at me for focusing on this? I mean digi doggos are awesome! And it allows me to boost my hacking capabilities 10 fold. Not to mention I would be in a worse place right now.

Fuck I need a drink before bad memories well up. I decided to head into my room, where I had left a can of soda on my desk. TANKA: BBQ for the record. Grab it and then with the soda in my pocket head to the ladder and then grab it

"Ugh!"

Leading to me slumping down to catch my breath, this is gonna take a bit.

*ten minutes later*

I get on top of the roof.
Other than the random pops onto buildings like air conditioners and such, I have a lawn chair, small table, and umbrella; I plop my rear onto the chair and fold my legs for comfort… ahhhhh, rest.

From there, I am now alone with my thoughts and can gaze at the new Eridu skyline.

A city skyline is nothing new for me. I grew up in Memphis, so concrete buildings reaching the sky are nothing new for me. But ever since I got here, outside of the initial shock of 'holy shit, where did I spawn to?' and the furries and sentient robots, things look mostly the same… with one notable exception. The hollows.

Giant domes that feel like another world, that change anything inside of them into cursed spir- I mean monstrous etherals.

Again, another world. But man was I in for a shock that they could see my doggos, glad I summoned them in an alleyway out of sight, or I would have been strapped to another table, honestly the hollow exterior reminds me of a veil barrier technique, could-

*Phone buzz*

Oh, that must be BB!

I pull out my phone and, yeah, he has a message for me.

BrazenBull: "Alright, I got a few right here, let's meet up at the plaza overlooking the target K?"

Slenderfluffy4: "K, it's like a 30-minute walk from here."

BrazenBull: "Good catch, you later."

I close my phone and stretch for a bit. Welp, that was 10 minutes wasted. Welp, time to grab my tools and my doggos. Time to do some side quests!

TO BE CONTINUED!
Hey, again, don't worry, everything else isn't dead if you are here from one of the quests or other fics, I'm just posting this to get it out of my head. But read, enjoy, and comment. The next post is coming soon, won't say when, though, due to me having no schedule atm.

Neat read.
I probably won't follow though since Zenless Zone Zero isnt my cup of tea, but fun seeing your writing again!
