If the extension for like, hug, funny, informative, and inciteful were paid for, would the admins implent it?

Xon's addon for that requires Xenforo 2.x. We're still on version 1.5.

Is the upgrade pricey, or too time intensive?

alethiophile would be the one to do the work, and he's been busy with irl stuff not leaving him much time.

So, should that happen, and we pay for the emoticons? Could it happen?

Not right away, but when he had time?

Given the way Funny ratings have become infractable on SV (or at least can have the mods turn a gimlet eye on you), I'm not sure I'd want all the ratings.

I do like hugs as a rating, which can convey sympathy without a post, but I'm not sure that's enough reason to pull in all the ratings.

    YMMV.

Funny ratings are infractable On SV? Damn they're fucked.

But still, they're useful for comedy stories.

It's a rather large jump in versions, so I don't know what he would need to do. There's also the issue of the addons we use. Are they all updated to 2.x? Would we lose some to update that far? Would that cause issues? Would alethiophile need to shutdown the forum for a bit and reinstall Xenforo instead of upgrade? All these questions need to be taken into account.

Some people have been known to use them as a "laughable" rating. And I once got a warning when I marked a rage-quit (or possibly more accurately whine-quit) comment on a story as funny.

Recently upgraded to XenForo 2 on my forum and it seems to have an inbuilt similar feature (multiple likes), not 100% sure what Xon's addon now adds. Just PMed him about it.
