So, PSO2 confirmed to come to PC at late May. Meaning about a month and half to wait now.

It's Microsoft exclusive for now so Xbox and Microsoft store only. Hopefully that exclusivity won't last long...

They said awhile back that it will come to the PlayStation and switch eventually from my understanding.

'Looks at the shit that Zack did in the Wutai fort'

Yup, seems fitting for a SOLDIER operative's view on stealth.

I will say, even in the Demo how the other Avalache crew really sees Cloud as badass and unstoppable for their plans, save for guns, is super cool and mega refreshing.

Like even if they are just leaving you to fight the guards, it feels like.

"Yeah we can leave it to him."

Plus, Jessie is mega thirsty for Cloud and I am all for that.

Yeah, but he does seem to be... sorta quiet, for the first half of that infiltration atleast. If you rush down the enemies fast enough, they don't get a chance to shoot, and nobody really makes an effort to scream.

Once you get further in the plant though, that goes out of the windows.
You're all on camera in the elevator, and Barrett starts shooting his cannon.

The issue isn't even that they're guns, but that they're high up enough that cloud can't reach them.

I mean, he should still be able to jump or just cast fire on them, but the game acts like you need barrett's help or you wouldn't be able to deal with them at all.

Speaking of this, I just got it for PC.

I'm a bit past the prologue, and so far, it's been interesting, plot-wise.

Gameplay and graphics are functional, nothing to write home about, but it works well with no noticeable slowdowns on my 13yearold potato of a PC, so just about anyone should be able to run it.

Downside, it's a horrendously lazy console port. If you don't have a controller, don't even bother. And you probably want to look for Cheatengine or something to fix the atrocious walking speed, tho I'm not sure if that one is due to shitty porting or it's the one thing that is working wrong for my potato PC.

The oddest bit so far is that holy shit, the outfits are lewd. I was not expecting that for a Digimon game of all things (outside the female Digimon, that is). Like.. These are the first two female characters introduced:

So, got to Wall Market. I don't remember if there was a line in the original, but... the Materia shop guy opens with "All I have are Materia" which I'm now wondering was a shoutout to FF7 Machinabridged...

Oh, it's even better in the original. In the original FF7, Cloud is the one who narrate the tutorials. There's a house with a bunch of dudes, classic Tutorial House, you know ? But instead of vomiting exposition at you, the inhabitant plead with Cloud to share his wisdom with them instead. The tutorial on how to equip and use Materia is Cloud teaching Barett.

So is Granblue Fantasy Versus a good place to get into the series? I've been interested in the setting for a long time because it looks like classic Final Fantasy and Skies of Arcadia had a kid together, which is all kinds of my jam, but I've never been able to get into the main game because gacha bullshit and the anime adaptation really takes its time getting interesting, at least at the start.

All the female characters' outfits are lewd in some way. They're either sinfully tight, have tiny miniskirts, perfectly frame their breasts and/or legs, show off their cleavage, show off their midriff, or some combination thereof. And I think the artist had a leg fetish, because all the dames are leggy and showing them off.

The only exception to the lewdness is the police officer lady, but she's a policewoman with big tits and a yankee attitude, so a lewd outfit would probably be overkill.

Edit: I checked the character designer's name on danbooru and most of his art there is pretty damn lewd. The guy's name is Yasuda Suzuhito, and he also worked on both SMT Devil Survivor games, and also illustrates the Danmachi and Durarara LNs.

Dialogue doesn't shy from things either... and then you have Rie. Most porn has less blatant dialogue than hers.

Artwork-wise, is it me, or do the catgirl maid cosplayers working at cafes and shit have utterly soulless eyes? You can just feel they are well past the despair event horizon of the soul crushing black hole that is low wage frontline customer service.

Some more comments on the game: the translation is atrocious at times. Normally it's okayish, but there's chunks that are just awkward, some errors here and there... and then there's the Kiss wannabe. Reading his dialogue causes pain.

Finally finished my first run through FF7 Remake, and I actually liked the ending. Got a few questions, but I liked it. And there's a good chance that thirstiest girl Jessie survived, since we're shown a recovering Biggs in the Sector 5 orphanage at the end, with Jessie's gloves sitting on a nearby dresser. I'm not sure they should have called it a 'remake' though, since it's more of a sequel/AU than anything else.

It's not a remake of the original game that's for sure if they're going to throw away canon and chalk it up to alternate universes.

But at least it doesn't operate in the number of parallel universes Mario does.

Oh god, could you imagine the duel between Cloud and Sephiroth? Hours of preparing backjump speed, and the actual duel depends on how many parallel universes have been fixed.

Exactly, but twice as both race to slant as many universes in their favor as possible.

So apparently there a rumors floating around about a possible reboot of the Silent Hill games. If it turns out to be true, I wonder if they will redo the first game or go in a completely different direction.

It'll probably end in disappointment, just like almost every reboot of the last decade.

They will probably reboot it as a slot machine. Since Konami is at least honest in that they want you to be gambling on their "games".

Is FFXV worth trying? Specifically on the PC.

I've been in a funk game-wise lately, and the last Final Fantasy game I've actually played was 8. I've got no plans to get the 7 remake anytime soon, and I'm not really enjoying DOOM Eternal yet.

FFXV is fun if you get SPA easily.

I called it "Road Trip: The RPG" because if you let your SPA get the better of you that's what it is.

Hm. Now I want an actual road trip RPG. Just a couple of kids on a trip across sci-fantasy land fighting random monsters, dealing with gimmicky tourist-trap dungeons, making bad jokes, and generally having a fun time. No real antagonist, they save the world in the final chapter but it's got no real lead-up and they only stumbled across the cultists/ancient demon/whatever by complete accident because they were doing something stupid.

    The PSA about SPA.

EDIT: Can't believe that's still going. I need to reread it and catch up sometime.

The story of the base game is very good while the combat is extremely simple and can get repetitive. You won't find anything like complex combos using weapon switching, but it's not a bad combat system once you unlock Airstep. You eventually unlock the ability to control the other party members using their respective DLC's gameplay, which can be very fun and/or game-breaking. Speaking of the DLCs, don't bother with them unless you really like the game.

The strengths of the game are the characters, the story and the dungeons, in that order. The combat has its moments, but the open world fights aren't all that fun and you can get over-levelled for most of the story content very fast if you want to. Some sidequests are simple and easy, while others require you to literally hunt frogs, except it's way less fun than it was in FFIX. There's a number of minigames like a pinball-like game and Chocobo racing, but the best by far is fishing.

The dungeons are all straightforward and don't have many puzzles, with two notable exceptions. They all have a great atmosphere and a couple feature jumpscares by monsters lurking around. And if you buy the game, don't forget to go through the optional secret dungeon, because it's an experience. No battles, just puzzles and platforming.

Well, between posting my question and now I've picked up Subnautica but I'm still strongly considering FFXV.

That said, I've heard some issues about the PC edition. Bad port optimization or something. I'm not seeing any big fixes on NexusMods, so I don't know what's going on.
