They don't have shelter or food preservation yet. And stuff in the jungle does rot quickly. We need to 'discover' that wood can make a mean treehouse or fire in the next storm.

 

damn it. this is one of the issues with a Killy race, they have a low interest in technology do to their natural advantages.

Okay, lets take stock of what we have.

One, we have a powerful ambush predator with the agility and speed to move from tree top to tree top.

Two, we have Some fuck-off jaw strength, probably comparable to a Jaguar.

Three, we are intelligent and have, I'm assuming, opposable thumbs

So, what we need is some kind of shelter in the trees, and maybe a simple set of hand signals to help better coordinate hunting and scouting.

Tree building is not viable at currant tech level. And nest are kind of silly for a race that without flight.

the nests are kind of like level 1 housing meant to lead into better homes.

 

Nest are not level 1 that would be more level 4, after they comprehend sticks can be used for things.

 

Take a bunch of reeds and leaves, and weave them together in the crooks of one of the trees until you get something a bit more comfortable to sleep on.

Why? They're more comfortable than just sleeping in the branches.

 

If Birds, Gorillas, and some types of lemurs do it. We can do it.

 

Level 1 housing is - Tree tops make for good places to not be seen.
Level 2 housing is - Sometimes inside caves are good too... if its raining.
Level 3 housing is - If We pull these branches together we can make it like a cave in the trees!
Level 4 housing is - If we grab random things like mud and sticks we can paste them on our branches that over lap each other and make it so our tree-cave doesn't leak!

Also, we haven't seen the result of scouting, I think - general area, available prey, and so on. Vote for [x] Scouting if I end up misremembering things.

The last bones cracked, and the meat polished clean from the splinters, means it's time for the girls to move on. They climb along the trees, back to the clearing where they bedded down nearly a month ago.

This time, instead of bedding on the ground, they lounge in the branches- Safe, or so they think.

The first hint that something is wrong is a loud whooping cry. The cats are startled awake, and quickly find themselves clustered together, surrounded by a troupe of heavily furred and six-limbed apes, clutching loose branches and rocks as they menace the cats. It seems that while they were gone, these creatures claimed the place for themselves- And the apes show no sign of wanting to share their new home with it's old inhabitants.

The girls manage to escape, barely, by dropping to the ground. The apes throw sticks and rotten fruit at them as they retreat, but despite some bruised egos and gunk the cats are unharmed. They find themselves bedding down in the grove of fruiting trees, instead- Although they keep a watchful eye out for the next few nights, in case of further attacks.
