This time, when dream-me started throwing off danger signals, dream-her didn't think I was up to the task. So I picked up a couple of pokers from the fireplace and impaled her. Blood everywhere and she, shocked, gasped out that it wasn't supposed to end like this.

Also had some other weird dreams; I know one of them was a false awakening in which I explained that to my aunt, and one was about Q from Star Trek playing monkey's paw with wishes.

Kinda wish the recurring nightmares would shut up at a time when I actually feel sorry for her (she had an accident a couple of days ago).

 

Had a bad dream not about my mother for a change.

I'd had a stroke, and I had difficulty moving and talking. And it was set when I was back at high school, and one of my friends started talking shit about how I needed to be sent to a special school. I yelled at him that I was still better than him at every class except PE.

Of course, difficulty moving and talking at times is very real for me at the moment, though it's not the result of a stroke. And amusingly enough I did fail P.E. at school once or twice.

 

And, what, replace it with rage?

 

Either that or tears.

Moral quandary time!

When exploring the neighbourhood, you encounter your pet animal (cat, dog, whatever) locked in mortal combat with a (human) stranger. Saving both of them is not an option. Do you help your pet kill the stranger, help the stranger kill your pet, or let them fight to the death without interfering?

Just had a dream where I was attacked by a lion. As I didn't think I could outrun it, I tried to fight back and kill it. When another person came past, I begged her for help... but she decided to help the lion eat me, as it was her pet.

 

To be quite frank, if my cat doesn't like you, and in fact hates you enough to to attack you, there's something significantly wrong with you on some level. This would be my female cat, by the way. I'd help my pet.

 

If it's down to animal or human, of course I'd pick human. If, of course, I could bring myself to hurt it.

 

I had a good response that I thought of for a thread about taking money for fanfictions on SB but I can't find the thread again and it's really annoying me

 

Not sure what I'm supposed to do with this, but I just found out that of the 600 GB of documents and manuals I pulled off a co-worker's portable hard drive, 500 GB of that was porn. I don't even know what to do about this.

 

Just don't comment on it. His business is his business.

 

That depends on the nature of the porn, and your relationship with your co-worker, I guess.

As long as it's not CP or something, I don't think you're obliged to do jack shit, unless it was on a work hard drive, in whih case your employer would probably want to know and want it stopped, or the latter at the very least.

If you don't know the co-worker, a gentle suggestion that they keep their "personal files" separate from work-relate documentation, especially when sharing them, might work.

If you know them, why not give them shit for it?

And hell, if it's decent porn, well, waste not, want not. :3

 

Speaking as someone who this came up for in it ethics? So long as its not illegal porn, you cant do or say shit.

 

I've been rewatching Dexter and I've forgotten how good the first season was compared to shitty later seasons.

 

This is a recurring aspect of many western TV shows and one of the reasons why I pretty much exclusively watch anime these days.

 

How is it unethical to say "Hey dude, I found your porn." and/or "hey, next time you give me some files, could you avoid hiding 500 GB of porn in there? That took ages to copy, and I don't need it."?

 

Strictly speaking? You ignore it. Client privacy and all. If its a friend, you can probably get away with ribbing them

I just had the weirdest dream. It was full of James Bond type spy and espionage stuff. In it porn companies would diversify their portfolios by by building military hardware. One company was referred to as "breeding attack helicopters" in one of their installations. The main plot of the dream w as the fact that one company had acquired a sunken nuclear submarine and managed to repair it in order to sell it on the black market. It was really weird.

 

Yes, but many anime shows are only 12 or 24 episodes long, which isn't enough to cause the problems most American shows have.

They are also usually an adaptation of a light novel or a manga, which means that they can know ahead of time if their plot is good or not. And if the manga/light novel gets worse in later volumes they can just adapt the several first volumes instead of everything.

Original western TV shows know they are bad when they are already bad and have left sour taste in everyone's mouth.

Also, I'm not seeing how client privacy requires that you not tell the client you found their porn. It might require that you not watch the porn, or that you not tell anyone else about it, but surely telling Alice that you found Alice's stuff cannot be a breach of Alice's privacy.

 

Particularly if it is done as a warning that Alice has accidentally put her stuff where it oughtn't be if she wants it confidential.

 

One would think that people would know better than to make YouTube LPs of a game called "I Wanna See You Suffer".

Because in doing so, they let the author (and everyone else) see them suffer.

 

Perhaps the are just ok with the prospect of the author seeing them suffer?

Well, yes, but the blurb of the game flat-out tells you it's the author's revenge against the community for making him LP I Wanna Be The Fangame, and that it's not intended to be fun or fair but just to make you suffer as much as possible because he hates you.

Why would you pick up that gauntlet?

 

Pride, the desire for a challenge, and bragging rights. Dark souls, romhacks and I Wanna Be The Guy all had/have pretty decent followings, so there are people who enjoy that sort of thing.

 

I've beaten I Wanna Be The Guy. But Kayin at least had motives beyond "fuck you", and IWbtG itself isn't half as spiteful as that horror.
