Esquestria: The House of the Sun - A pony cultist experience

[X] Return home, with Diary, Frangiclave, and something else besides. Or rather, someone. (End the dream, bringing Twilight Sparkle with you, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

[X] They are young and impressionable. Thankfully, you are a responsible adult. (Hang out with Rarity and Fluttershy, your real-life confidantes)
[X] "Yes, it's about your daughter. What class I teach her? Well…" (Approach the Rich parents)
[X] This place has a library. Go take a look.

I'm in favor of sending our Twilight here because, frankly, I think that would be best for her, and that's what I care about. Certainly better than staying in Equestria, which, to be blunt, has a flat out terrible record on mental health issues and a litany of characters in dire need of counciling. The Equestrian choice for helping Twilight seems to be just kinda hoping her friends and family (Not us!) can snap her out of it, which I have no real faith in ever happening; it's been quite a while now, and zero progress has been made. Even if there was a better way in Equestria, it's surely going to be a large and complex project, and are people really going to vote to spend the time on it?

[X] Return home, with Diary and Frangiclave, and fulfill your bargain with the Daughter-of-Axes. (End the dream, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

I really want to either talk to Uncle Steppes or get on researching some of our artifacts, but here's my backup choices if we don't.

[X] Alright, WHERE is Stormchaser? (Look for your dear beloved)
[X] They are young and impressionable. Thankfully, you are a responsible adult. (Hang out with Rarity and Fluttershy, your real-life confidantes)
[X] "Is there anything on your mind, Miss Jack?" (Approach Applejack)
[X] This place has a library. Go take a look.
[X] What is this "cellphone" all the kids are talking about? Why do you have one? And what is this "Internet" thing?

[X] Return home, with Diary and Frangiclave, and fulfill your bargain with the Daughter-of-Axes. (End the dream, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

I stand by what I said about bringing Twilight. It's a terrible idea and unnecessary. It's also just another thing that could blow up in our face long term as we spend actions trying to keep it hidden.
Their are all of zero people that both know Twilight and care enough to even notice.

We've got things to do. Let's do them.

If it only meant we were done with the main goal, then the third "turn" would have been 3/2, and this would be 4/2. Because we got the Frangiclave and Diary on "turn" 2.
wrong, it was turn 3. it took two choices, which were made end of turn 1 and 2, and were writteon out on turns 2 and 3.

And what would the answer of a pseudo-modern world to Twilight's problem be, when she'll either retire to apathy and despair again, or LOUDLY insist she's meant to be a unicorn?

I really don't see this world helping. Or at least, there's a very real chance she'll just be put in a psychiatric ward, especially if, say, she becomes violent due to outrage of seeing her FAKE parents, or the FAKE Spike.

My hope is mostly that time would stop or slow down again after we leave, as the implication thus far to me seems that

1)When there's nobody from Equestria in here, time stops. Otherwise how is Parsharka's husband still alive?
2)When someone from Equestria IS in here (currently PRESUMABLY Sunset Shimmer and Velvet, if she counts?), time PROBABLY flows but at a slower rate, or alternatively the world might adapt based on the scenario in the real world at the time (Sunset came long enough ago that I could see the counterparts of the Elements being "born" in this world AFTER she came in, to reflect the real world somehow. Unless they outright came into being already grown up or something...

The world is bathed in Harmony's light and your arguing that it won't be able to help her. With such things a living parents, a brother that cares. The only way she could avoid getting help is to live in a cave underground. Actually that won't work either as Harmony Crystals are growing underground right now

this world's Twilight is living in Harmony's light and is still unhappy.

Those living parents are NOT her real parents. They're some kind of reflection, of a copy. they're not even ponies, so she can't even pretend this is the real world.

And we have no idea if she has a supportive brother, as we saw NOTHING of either Shining Armor or Spike.

in the EQG show Shining is basically not there (he makes ONE Appearance, and I don't think Twilight was even mentioned then), and Spike is a dog.

If we leave Si-twi here and she continues to search with even greater fervor, where could she end up?

She could find the mirrors exit point, falling through right into Daybreakers hooves.
You mean the exit point that can only be used if a) you have the Silver Key (aka specifically DoA's Knock 5 Sacrament), or b) you're traveling with a person who has the Silver Key and someone on the other side throws your reflection into the mirror at the same time you leave?

Yeah I'm not really concerned about that.

Their a working mirror that needs nothing but the full moon to be open and with no requirement other then that. Which leads right into Pony Celestia's treasure vault.

Their are all of zero people that both know Twilight and care enough to even notice.

We've been shown multiple times that are actions of consequences. If you don't think bringing a functioning Twilight back could have ripple effects that could bite us or force us to spend actions on, I think you're being overally optimistic considering past precedent.

I was against taking mirror!Twilight with us, but after learning that the light of this world is made from Harmony, I'm now voting for the opposite. I realize that this is simply putting all hope/wishful thinking into the possibility that being in its presence will be good for her mental health, but I don't see any better alternative.

[X] Return home, with Diary, Frangiclave, and something else besides. Or rather, someone. (End the dream, bringing Twilight Sparkle with you, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

Man, it would be really awkward if we did this, and then Cadance came to Twilight trying to help her.

I can see arguments to stay here. I can also see the potential frustration at a secondary vote of what to do with the spare action.
But, I feel it's still the best step forward.

The world is bathed in Harmony's light and your arguing that it won't be able to help her. With such things a living parents, a brother that cares. The only way she could avoid getting help is to live in a cave underground. Actually that won't work either as Harmony Crystals are growing underground right now

"Parents" who have no shared memories with you that believe you are delusional. A "brother" that again, has no shared experiences with you and thinks you are delusional. A dog that is a mockery of her little brother. And to top it all off, the complete stripping of her magic (she's currently still using it in Equestria for basic things, even though it hurts), with none of the scientific knowledge Mirror Twilight has to make up for it.

So, putting aside all moral/empathetic/narrative reasons about the Twilight choice, I don't think it's worth it mechanically. A Confidante can be really good, but I would expect us to need to take a few actions to settle things. At this point in the quest, I don't want even more choices for Velvet's actions when we really need to consolidate power for All-In.

But including all those other reasons, I've already shared my thoughts on swapping Twilights. The explicit presence of Harmony as well as the genuine comfort Principal Celestia could provide does mean I'll be less upset if bringing mirror Twilight wins, but I'm still otherwise unconvinced. It's also slightly because the original Twilight is referred to as "Twilight Sparkle, the Element of Magic" whereas the mirror Twilight is only referred to as "Twilight Sparkle, the student of Canterlot High". I'm likely just over-analyzing Bird's way of differentiating the two Twilights, but I do think there might be something there.

[X] Return home, with Diary and Frangiclave, and fulfill your bargain with the Daughter-of-Axes. (End the dream, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

And Harmony is working on it, did you forget that magical geodes are growing underground right now. In at most 1-2 years magic that works for humans will be a thing.
That only happened when the temporary portal was made permanent, was cracked on the top half and started leaking magic everywhere.

This did not happen in the Quest so there are no geodes here and there is no guarantee there will be considering History changed courses over a year ago.

[X] Return home, with Diary and Frangiclave, and fulfill your bargain with the Daughter-of-Axes. (End the dream, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

Trapping our Twilight behind the foggy mirror is just too much of a dick move for me. Yeah, we fucked up her life before, but this time we would do it on purpose.

People can try to justify it all they want, but Velvet is not bringing Sci-Twilight to help pony Twilight. In fact I'd argue choosing to banish the Twilight she helped break to get a new Twilight to play with may in fact be the most selfish thing she has done in this quest. Maybe being here will help her, though I seriously doubt it, but that's not why we have the choice.

The portal opens every full moon for three days, magic is always coming thou. The difference the being open full time which was Twilight using Sunset Diary, is at most a year or so difference before the Geoades fully form.

I'm satisfied ending things here. Time to hit the road.

Not every full moon, it is every 30 moons.

And you misunderstood what I meant, I said the portal had to be made permanent AND cracked open to make sure equestrian magic would flow to the human world. That is how it happened in canon, just see the Crystal ball scene in EG Legend of Everfree.

[X] Return home, with Diary and Frangiclave, and fulfill your bargain with the Daughter-of-Axes. (End the dream, and redistribute your remaining action points.)

No, I don't think it would be good for original Twilight Sparkle to stay here without any agency. Actually rather surprised that there's more than I had expected voting for it.

UGggg...

This is not an option to help pony-twilight. It's an option to help dream-twilight.
It is not a fix for twilights problems, but as I said days ago - strengthened by the presence of probably-harmony- after we throw her through it'll be better for her because gaslit by "not real" family or stuck in a padded room is better than dangling from a noose or in a wolf cult!

after we throw her through it'll be better for her because gaslit by "not real" family or stuck in a padded room is better than dangling from a noose or in a wolf cult!
That's bullshit and we all know it, the cult is headed by our dear daughter with support of our son, she will make sure that Twilight will get a grip sooner or later and there will be no risk of her dying in the process, I'm pretty sure there's even a chance of her eventually talking to us!

We don't actually know how much of the stuff from the movies is canon here. The EQ!Twilight from them (as far as I recall) was actually a Crystal Prep student rather than one for Canterlot High; the fact that she's been at the latter school long enough to have a secret workshop implies that the former doesn't exist; this, paired with how the sky in the movies clearly isn't an eldritch dreamland, could gesture to a bunch of other changes between the Quest version and the movie version, so we shouldn't rely on them too heavily to predict what will happen.
