For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.

Is Automata even any good? I mean, NIER was kinda lackluster; it only really stood out by being so much better than the earlier games in the series, gameplay and graphics wise, and that's not really a hard bar to raise.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Drakengard series (there is no Drakengard 2). I just don't think they're objectively good games, rather, they're niche titles good for those who enjoy musou-type games. Like me.
Automata best game Yoko Taro made till now. It is great mix of two things. Taro way of storytelling and directing, with very experienced and successful Platinum Games studio that make great action games.
I haven't gotten a chance to play it directly yet (PC port's coming out tomorrow), but the gameplay footage I've seen and the mechanics displayed therein look solid. I'm loving the design choices too- the Beauvoir boss in particular scratches a macabre itch most media can't hit properly.
