For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.

It depends on the portion of Germany. South Germany especially is known for its cultural clothing, like the dirndl, the dresses in my avatar, or Lederhosen. For the dress, the way a woman/girl does the large bow on the side of the apron is an expression of her marital status, off to the left means single, right means taken, middle means she is a virgin, and behind means widow (or if in a restaurant, a waitress.
South Germans, Bavarians in particular, have always interested me, It’s a very different world from what Germans are presented as in American media. It’s lively, colorful, and with a lot less alcohol, though in someplaces, like the rest of Germany’s rich cultural heritage, it has been tainted by those bastard Nazis.
No, it’s full of culture, just much of my focus into German culture has been more to the south, and I am far less certain I can reasonably explain it. I have been exposed to it less, especially since what little German blood I know I have, my family has assumed to have come from the south. Northern German culture is as complex and beautiful as the Southern German culture from what I have gathered.
