Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
If you wish to change your username, please ask via conversation to tehelgee instead of asking via my profile. I'd like to not clutter it up with such requests.
I’ve lost a bit of responsiveness in my left hand, so I’m figuring out a new method of typing. Once I can reliably type I’ll start up writing again, but for now I’m going to read garbage (LitRPG) and feel sorry for myself. :p
Pinky and a Ring finger are both at about 70% responsiveness, and I can’t really feel them. Lower part of my hand is numb, and chronic aches in my elbow and lower forearm. Basically when I type I either don’t hit the left shift or I do it a half second too late, which is a pain in the ass like you wouldn’t believe.
Shouldn’t be permanent, when I get my taxes back I’ll get a new computer chair and see if that helps. If it gets worse, then it’s surgery time, which isn’t going to be great.
I've been plinking away at getting better at eight finger typing, but other than getting used to it it's not really improving. I've been messing with various projects to train though, we'll see.
Building a new quest as we speak. I’d say it’s 70% ready for posting.
Hand stuff is mostly gone, vacation worked wonders. It still twinges a bit now and then and it’s sore on occasion, but functionality has been restored happily enough.
Airships 2’s system bothers me, and Gods and Steel is hella intimidating to get back into. I have some epilogue written up that I’ll finish and post someday.
I’ll return to Dominions someday, that’s for sure. That world is just ridiculously juicy when it comes to lore and setting. Airships... i just don’t feel like the system was working. I’d need to rework things totally, and it’s a bit less insane to start a new project than to try to zombify an old one.
Problem is I love your worlds and grew attached to your chars, so leaving them behind, especially like in Airships 2, sucks. We didn't get past the beginner missions, damnit. :(
Thanks, I appreciate the sentiment. I really do. The characters for Airships 2 were well crafted, and I really do regret leaving them behind, I have pages and pages of notes written about them. That said, I'd rather start something that actually gives me the inspiration to write than try to rekindle something that will probably leave me burned out again.
Also I've designed a fairly robust system that I'm really optimistic will play well! It's set up on a modified CK2 system that should be recognizable and easy to use while allowing for an absolutely amazing amount of movement and transition capability.
Well, with Airship 2 we were still early enough in the game you could do a "reboot"; starting over with a new system, but re-using the existing characters and plotlines.
I'll be writing quests for a good long while, so Airships 3 someday. I will get the damn setting to work someday, I swear by the porn gods :D.
That said, my next quest will be heavily medieval with just a tiny shade of fantasy mixed in, so I'll need good feedback from folks with a better cultural understanding of Europe.
