    That looks like a cool idea, but you wouldn't be able to use it in the Delta layer because it's opaque to light over long distances.

    Wouldn't that also be an issue for grasers though?

    Also wouldn't a PROCSIMA based fast travel lane system be something that could be developed? Ships can be accelerated by stations in Gamma then jump to Delta. This would give an extra boost in velocity for long distance journeys by providing an external source of delta-V.

    Well, large laser webs could also be used for propulsion boosting, just the mass and volume of the associated equipment becomes heug at long distances.

    The advantage of Cold-Laser Particle Coupling is you don't need a gigantic ravenous death beam tier FEL & optics to maintain spot size at long range.
