Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
If you wish to change your username, please ask via conversation to tehelgee instead of asking via my profile. I'd like to not clutter it up with such requests.
I was poking at omake stuff and realized the unethical teacher in my Akun quest is more of a self-insert for me than the protagonist is. Her current goal is grooming the protagonist into the next recipient of her 'wisdom', which involves abandoning 'traditional' ethics for rational self-interest and also hypnosis.
I have a Thing for teachers for...some reason. I never see them in quest premises though, even on QQ where you'd think the rules on loli and such would allow it.
I mean, given the amount of stuff I have on my plate anyway, I'm not really. I'm just barking out into the ether because I need a place to write this shit down, and profile posts are as good an idea as any.
Besides, I have friends who check profile posts. That's good enough for me. I'd have used those threads if I had interest in doing so, and it's not like profile posts do any harm.
It's a hard balance. Explaining too much about a character does ruin the intrigue, after a point...but you also want victories to feel earned, otherwise the audience shuts off like that.
It does help if there's a clear motivation. If it's the character who serves as the main POV, you kinda wanna know at least a bit of what they're doing it all for. Is it just all...revelations with no prior basis?
Explaining motivations is a low brow way to do that. In actuality, doing that did nothing for the story. It's more that if there is an infallible supply of asspulls, that is fine. It just shouldn't be relied upon, and never the first option.
