True for both. Nicolas was a crazy asshole. And with so staggering number of novels and author lack of knowledge or bias often hurts BT lore. I prefer to treat any BT fiction like a cartoon. A in universe propaganda publication only loosely based on true events if they don't make and logical sense at some points.
It would explain why some novels wank certain factions so hard. I'm looking at you Clan Wolf. I'm certain you're the one who funds publication of books were you're shown as best thing since sliced bread.
