Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
If you wish to change your username, please ask via conversation to tehelgee instead of asking via my profile. I'd like to not clutter it up with such requests.
Definitely! Although it's a bit of a grind to try to comprehend what tends to go on since I never actually played Armored Core myself so I can't distinguish what's original or not and what to picture the setting and characters as. Nevertheless, I will try to stuff it in my mind (and maybe watch a few playthroughs :p) on my own time!
To be honest, you can mostly picture the setting as original. The series is so obscure, and my take on it so altered, that the games wouldn't tell you all that much...
I may have to get better about character descriptions though. I was worried about trying to describe how the machines move and fight, which I *think* I pulled off? But, things like 'Elias is brown-haired and blue-eyed' are stuff I should probably cover. If only because the '1980s 1-bit high resolution CRT monitor' style doesn't really show anything but skin tone.
Ah, well I'll keep that in mind when I find the time to delve back into it and catch up! Either way from what I saw last I read, it was good and I love the CRT aesthetic for the pictures.
That was the thing I was worried about most! It felt like it wouldn't really make sense to anyone but me, but reaction has been universally positive to it.
Not that there haven't been complaints. :v But hey, can't please everyone, especially when it's so niche.
The next post on QQ/SV will be a recap of the story so far. Might get it up tonight...
It probably helps that I love anything that emits old technology and/or cyberpunk aesthetics. That and I finished Serial Experiment Lain a little while ago so that's embedded in my head.
