  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

Questionable Questing

An AI-generated image I made some months ago because I couldn't decide on which image I wanted to use as a pfp. That said, I had a friend of mine drawing some illustrations for the character if I ever felt like using it for something in the future (A story, maybe?)

AI imaging technology is coming so far lately, it's wonderful. The "artstyle" of that image reminds me of "Girls Frontline".

Indeed. Now if one wants to use an image for an OC in a story or Quest, you have the option of generating an image yourself rather than stea-borrowing them from Pixiv, DeviantArt, or the likes lol.

I got frustrated trying to get the AI generator "Stable Diffusion" to work on my PC, recently. I need to give it another go one of these days. I agree, it's a much more elegant solution than stealing someone else's artwork! Even if it may also be the signal of a cataclysmic decline in indie art commissions just over the horizon...

It's complicated. By commissioning art yourself, you have more chances of getting what you want rather than conforming yourself with a close second, and depending on the reason behind the request, it's more practical too, even if way less cheap.

That said, if you only want a pretty picture, then doing as I did and generating an image is the way to go.

My artistic ability is so low, that my standards for my own creations are quite low as well...leading to me freaking out in joy at even a barely passable AI loli I'm able to create! I think the ai art revolution is wonderful...The images often have a fever dream appeal, which is a vibe I go for in my writing often, anyway.

To be fair, mine is too, but I'm hilariously enough a perfectionist, which means that I rarely get anything done, and when I do it, is so below my "standards" that is not even funny. At least, when it comes to drawing and illustrations, it pays to have a friend who can do it half-decently. In everything else tho? Well, I wanted to post a story here... And I'm still rewriting the first draft lol.
