And that stretches the lifespan of the one eye, at the cost of putting mild strain on the other.

    Takamagahara is a very strong and versatile space-time ninjutsu, but it only comes into it's full prominence as the ninja holy grail if you've got the EMS and an assload of chakra, making /stopping/ time not an idiotic idea in terms of sustainability. The EMS isn't the proper balancing point for MS abilities anyways. It's /meant/ to be the balance breaker hax.

    As to how horrible it is for the eyes: they use it to stop time once, for 10 seconds, and go from 6/6 visual acuity in that eye to 6/9.

    If it works at a linear rate, it'd only take 180 seconds of full timestop /ever/ to push them to the point of legal blindness.
    I'm utterly convinced that no other mangekyo ability aside from maybe a full size susanoo can blow out your eyes that quickly.
