Well the other big issue I have with Boruto is that there are no major defined threats to act as good instigators or tension. People lich Orchimama or Danzo fit just as easily in a Porno world as they do in canon, and while Bortuo has intagainists, they aren't nearly as good or memorable.

Boruto wants to bring back the age of Shinobi because he feels his dad went to far and jeopardized his nation, its culture and security, in the name of peace. Then the ultimate opposite to that, instead of some peace loving hippy like his dad, would be someone who was victimized by Konha's previous militarization and paranoia.
