  • You know, playing games on Hard Mode isn't as scary as I used to think. Sure it's frustrating AF in the beginning, but after some point you get used to it and even forget what difficulty you're playing at. Then it feels even better when you win and realize your accomplishment.

Every anime has a tournament arc, so what if there's a setting where all the anime tournament arcs happen in the same place/city/building?

Imagine, there's a fusion world where there's like fiddy stadiums in one small backwater average Japanese city, where there are a lot of average Japanese high school students

"Welcome to Average Japanese City, over there is Kuoh Academy, next to it is Totsuki Culinary Academy, behind it is Konoha Academy, across the street is Isekai Academy, it's built by Capsule Corp, and behind that school is Mahora Academy, next to their female dorms is Oarai Girls' Academy, that block next to the commerce street is called Duelist's Battle City, across the city from there is UA High School..."

I saw this really fun superpower in this modern martial arts series the other day, well, it's also one of those martial arts, qi-based, the whole series is, kinda like very early dragonball maybe but less powerful but more creative, it's call 'divine mask' used by an opera singer, basically more people believe you are your role, you become closer to your role, gain its powers
Looking back, Zabuza was probably suicidal already when he met Kakashi. Like, even if we don't look at the power creep later in the series, there's no reason to fight against Team 7 one at a time, or feed moves to them (ie. letting random(?) genin break his hold on Kakashi). He "killed his entire class", "assassinated the mizukage", etc. he's clearly feeling hopeless, depressed. It's really kind of sad.
To be honest DXD isn't that bad, even how Rias' peerage treated her isn't that bad, compared to Campione. Such similarities in genre, one is just lazy followers, the other is followers that actively try to coerce, manipulate, and puppet you.

Ah, Kusanagi is a, what's the word used in Japanese media? A Herbivore, that's it. Someone who's extremely passive an harmless till the plots kicks in and demands he does a cool trick.

he is a product of his era, and to be honest I don't think either of these series were written maliciously to be you know, that bad on purpose, it's probably more the result of a combination of factors, but whatever the case, I can't believe that series is still on going to this day
but if you think about it, it could've been Michael or Gabriel or whoever talking to Jeanne instead of the Gawd

maybe it was a fallen angel deceiving her into thinking it was God and then the fallen angel God Instagibbed somewhere so an angel took over and was kind of like an an awkward situation where they're like I don't really wanna fuck around with her beliefs or whatever so I'm just gonna skim over that God stuff and just tell her to do what she believes in

Actually looking at DXD, it's quite problematic when you compare the peerages. Riser, while he might seem disgusting, has a peerage that is united and supportive of each other, willing to fight for each other. Rias' peerage, at that stage, the neet vampire won't come out of the closet for her, the catgirl and the half-angel both won't face their pasts for her, everyone's so half-hearted...

I mean, yeah, Riser is an asshole, but he knows what he wants, and he knows he's not smart enough to manage shit, so he hands it off to his sister or whoever else... like he can delegate. Through using the right people for the right job, you can see that his peerage at least cares about him, and they actively foster harmony.

Makes you wonder who really should be the protagonists.

Probably why there's so many Riser SI fics.

    it's the incest isn't it
People put Evil Pieces invention date after 1500's because modern chess is around this time, but if you think about it, this is off, because myths of demons turning people into demons through deals or whatever have been around before this time, so it's more likely that there are previous versions of demon conversion tools, it's just because of a lack of true war that it became gameified

That idiom assumes you lucked out into finding out what you're talented in and what you love. I think the majority of people just pick something, keep practicing it and either they're talented, or they just love it so they get good at it, and never find out if they talented in something else.

Well, it doesn't have to be a definitive truth, and usually this is an idiom spoken to you, not by you. This means it's usually a bystander who expresses their perspective on what they believe to be your strong suit that you chose to bypass for your passions. Perhaps a bystander sees the situation more clearly, but it can also be that a bystander doesn't really understand too.

It's kind of strange, you know, because of how a lot of modern stories tend to resort to familial conflict to induce tension and motivation in their protagonist so it looks like in modern settings, "hero" families are usually full of internal strife, chaos, dislike, greed, and even hatred for each other, whereas "villain" families are usually more harmonious, happy, supportive, caring, and loving to each other

IDK, but I suppose there's a lot of different takes and variations on the trope; the stereotype looks more like something from A Series of Unfortunate Events, or maybe Harry Potter, but it can take all shapes and forms, really

Because the heroes are overwhelmingly strong, they suffer from disunity, while the villains are the "underdogs" so they are united against the strong heroes. Or something like that.

the thing is, my outlier IS a harry potter fanfic (Ouroboros if you want to know the title; basically, Graham from Nanoha straightened out the Dursleys to treat Harry decently and they gradually learned to treat him as one of their own)
So like this version of Catwoman has like, cat totem powers or something idk, like Spider-Man, but kitty, you know, and MC found her while she's just starting out and looking for other people with particular powers and was disappointed that Batman is just a regular human with decent willpower and training, so MC went over there and got cat curiosity by
