An addendum to Rule 3 regarding fan-translated works of things such as Web Novels has been made. Please see here for details.

Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
The 1920's were not within the last 20 years. That doesn't mean that a moderator won't rule that they were, but it means that we'll get a warning before punishments get handed out.
It's just the SI and Kal-El. Kal-El always wears an environmental shield when in costume these days, and Lar-On had already been affected.
It either makes you gay (its one appearence in the comics, probably intended as a joke) or changes your sex (animated series).
The rule on this site against modern politics. The listed gap between 'modern' and 'historical' is twenty years. That's a lie of course, because why actually state the rules in the rules, but it's a reference to work with.

The former prisoner collapses to the floor, gasping for breath. In complete violation of good practice, Superman darts forward and offers him a hand up. "Are you alright?"

Yes it would, because they're still weaker than men. A super-powered woman doing it doesn't suddenly mean that the bone or muscle density of normal women increases. Similarly, women are still taking time out to have babies when men aren't. Go on YouTube and watch what happens when women's...
They named my younger sister Karen, so I imagine that if I'd been female then that would have been my name.
Hey! Paul is a perfectly modern name! You'd have to have picked... Dalziel or Egbert or something.
It's not that I like Sarah. I can't honestly say I've spent much time thinking...
Pearl? I realise that I'm not young any longer, but I'm not ninety. Why the heck would a version of me pick 'Pearl'?
Even so. What's wrong with Sarah?
Friday.
Thank you, corrected.

Richard frowns. "Isn't 'abandon planet' a little premature?"
I nod. "Abandoning the planet would be premature. But at this point there's a appreciable chance that something irrecoverable could happen to the human species within the next five years. Not a.. big...

I don't bother disguising my reaction, and my friends pick up on it immediately. They're old hands so it doesn't cause an actual freak out, but Clea, Circe and Cranius look concerned. Richard and Adom go for stonily stoical instead.

Not now that he's a squeaky clean Justice League member. Recoverable injuries only.
The only time when he'd have killed Wilson Slade was when he was a Trigon puppet.
That's true, but he doesn't know about a lot of that. He doesn't have access to the Titan's mission reports. He certainly doesn't spend all day monitoring them. He checks up and sees that no one has died and none of the Titans have lasting injuries and evaluates his threat based on that.
