Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
The story is pretty good so far, but did the MC forget that the Lannister goldmine hasn't produced gold for years and is flooded? I mean, the MC either watched the show or read the books of this story and so should know this?
Honestly it would not be the first time for stupid lawsuits. And yes, I also consider it a stupid lawsuit but unfortunately that is just how laws work. But consider that an original character in a fanfic of one author, gets used by someone else in another (being rather sarcastic here)...
Even if it is a fanfic, the author may not own the universe their story is in, they may not own many of the characters in the story. But anything original in that story belongs to them: Original characters, Original settings, Original plotlines as well as that particular original fanfic story...
I am not a lawyer, but I did become very familiar with them and court systems through my life due to actions outside of my control that I was dragged into. Plus I am also currently writing my own story which is not published anywhere and have researched things in order to protect my own...
First is the obligatory This is NOT legal advice.
Now Let us really get into the heart of the matter.
You have asked about, and talked about posting someone else's story or a link to where their story is posted, in a space that the author does not control. I am not bringing QQ into this as QQ...
But what you asked about is NOT a fanfic argument or discussion? You literally asked about a story, that someone wrote, then decided they did not want to write anymore and deleted.
Guess what? Even if they deleted it from every website they had it on, they still own every right to what...
This is NOT legal advice
I do not understand how this is so hard to understand.
If you did not get the story writers permission to copy their work, then you have committed theft if you made a copy.
If you did not get the story writers permission to post their work anywhere (online, a newspaper...
Saying this here again: This is NOT legal advice.
Suppose you have a good friend in real life who has decided to write a book (genre does not matter), an actual honest-to-god paperback you can hold in your hand. You and them happen to have the same interests in what genres you enjoy and so...
This is NOT legal advice, but that line from the TOS would cover only the owner of the QQ website. Not Mods, not other story writers and certainly not random story readers. If it went to court under the grounds of theft and plagiarism, the Judge would almost certainly ask if it was the owner...
