Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
heh, I just said that I havent used it yet. Then decided that Proton was the simplest option for a VPN that I know works with linux and there we went.
Its only copy pasting, in the terminal but I felt like a total wizard. I got a huge sense of accomplishment out of it even tough it really is...
Im dyslexic, I barely notice my own. Thats why I always got edits. If I actually notice my own typo, I figure its bad enough that it needs correcting xD
Well, its been a few days now. I really like Mint so far. Its such a smooth transition from windows.
Steam works, my games run smoothly. I havent used a vpn yet but honestly I havent needed one there yet. I dont really use the internet that much these days.
I did have some installation...
I tried CachyOS today but I dont find it as low entry as Mint. After messing around with it, I decided to go for Mint and if I ever wanna be challenged some more I can always revisit CachyOS.
Deciding factor is also that I rarely use my computer as the appeal isnt there for me after working...
I'm currently sorting through my stuff to prepare my preferred drive for a dual boot setup.
I already made my CachyOS bootable usb drive.
Ill mess around a bit with the live version this weekend and if I like Cachy better than Mint, use it as my dualboot option for now untill I am certain I...
Honestly youre probably right on that. I havent had a virus since I got my own computer as a kid. The family one was always screwed tough lol.
That said I also have the unfortunate roll of being the person everyone calls when their pc has issues and my father got enough licences with AVG to...
I remember having to type in MSdos to get my games to play. Hell, I used to struggle to get my floppydisks full back then. xD

I remember doing this with USB sticks on windows back when 2gb ram was a ton. (I didnt know as much back then as I do now, I still use it on a partition now tough)
oh... my rig will have plenty of space.... I tended to go through a lot of space for work. RAM has always been a major bottleneck....
Whats that feature called? I need to watch some videos on that....
...since when was this feature in linux?
Ah I can practically hear the memes already: I use arch btw"
That said, I am not dipping my toes in anything more intense than Cachy or Mint for now.
@24caratcoal Thanks for pointing out the bloat problem with Mint compared to Cachy!
I would like to say no worries but... I tend to ignore the...
I've been trying out Linux Mint (live) this past weekend to dip my toes in the water so to speak. It even revived the shitiest old pc I had in the attic to the point It felt brand new.
I'm thinking of setting up a dual boot for now with windows for either Linux Mint or CachyOS. Tough I am not...
damn thats a heavy start to a story. nothing good is likely to come from being picked up by the forces of an authoritarian regime. Certain childrens camps come to mind.
I do have a formatting request. Please do not alter the size of the text from the default size in qq. These were very small...
