    I got this idea remembering what Ruby said in chapter 4, of how Qrow called Old Jaune "that blonde idiot". At this point, Jaune is a depressed veteran warrior... kind of like Qrow. I think it makes sense for them to be good friends, especially since Jaune respects the Qrow from the other timeline.
