Warner Brothers Discovery own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.
The next two weeks fly by as I attempt to slowly adjust to my new surroundings. I am on Babylon 5. It isn't a dream. It isn't...well...I don't know what it is yet, but it is real. It is like those stories in those forums you read occasionally. Historically, there is no record of anyone crossing realities like I have at least. I'm sure if they put their heads together back on Earth, they might be able to figure out how this has happened. Is this a First One thing? I'm not even sure who might be responsible for doing something like this here. There's no Q. No Aegis. Nothing like the higher entities from Star Trek or Doctor Who. The Vorlons and Shadows are aware of other dimensions, and we know they're capable of extra-dimensional travel, but I'm not sure if they are this. Lorien? Not his style, he's waiting for Sheridan anyway. I have started writing a journal. Writing down my thoughts has helped a lot, while also creating a List of things that I want to accomplish while I'm here. I must be here to enact some kind of change, or else why would I randomly have just shown up in one of my favourite shows? Telling the senior staff was a bold move, but they should all be able to handle it. The general populace of the station, definitely not. The Minbari absolutely would. As I mentioned so would the Vorlons, and probably the Shadows. The less thinking about them I do---the better. They could be aware of me now given I'm an anomaly. Fucking, Mr. Morden is lurking around here. I'm surprised I haven't heard a knock on my door yet and two shadows materialized in my room...that's probably yet to come. The Centurari would exploit me, as Londo and that asshole Reefa have already done with Morden. G'Kar is just beginning his transformative journey and not ready to know what I know, even if it will ultimately benefit him. He's too angry still.
Given how stressful my life back at home was, doing nothing---or almost nothing for the first time in a few years---has been a pleasant change of events. But I'm starting to stir and stuff's about to happen soon. The Cortez arrived a few days ago to resupply the station. I wasn't, messaged, so this means that things unfolded as they did in the episode and they were still able to rescue the ship from being lost in hyperspace. This would be Sheridan's second report of the Shadows to date, if I'm not mistaken. I should be getting out of here really soon. Plus I think the Underground Railroad with the Telepath situation is going to be happening in the next few weeks. Delenn, I've been informed has been up and about adjusting to her new reality since re-emerging from the Chrysalis a few weeks ago. Garibaldi has informed me in his weekly check in with me, as well as still recovering from Jack's betrayal, and that Sheridan has told the Ambassador about me and she has requested to meet me, which is going to be...interesting. So much destiny unfolding, and I'm couped up in here. The Quartermaster dragged out some used clothing for me, that I've had cleaned. It'll do for the time being. It's going to take some saving, or perhaps my first couple of payments from consulting---for me to be able to afford regular civilian clothing. I've bought a couple pairs of cheap shirts, a sweater, and sweat pants. This will do me for now. I have a small rotation of clothing going right now and that's good enough for me. The other thing that has been...interesting...to adjust to--is being young again. This definitely has never happened in known human history. Franklin was able to confirm that I'm 30 years old. Doesn't know how it happened either. All the ailments I had in the previous reality as a 44 year old are---gone. As if my body was re-generating---or de-aging back to it's previous condition. My foot remains the same, and we've begun a plan to deal with that. I told Stephen that I wanted to start the Regen Pack therapy first, and if that doesn't work, to go full on clone foot. He's already taken a sample of my DNA from my foot and started the gestation process. So it will be fascinating to see where this---
There's a knock on the door. Lou opens it up and I stand as it is---
"Greetings, my name is---"
"Lennier, of the Third Fane of Chudomo. It is a great honor to meet you."
I bow in the customary manner of his people, which further shocks him.
"It's true about you then. You know our ways?"
I shake my head.
"I know what I've seen from the show, as well as in the novels. It's not much. I do not mean to offend by being able to duplicate this--"
"It is not an offense. It is an astonishing thing. I have been asked to bring you to see Satai Delenn, she is ready to see you." Lennier bows. The Minbari and their bowing.
I bow again and suddenly feel underdressed for this meeting. Mira Furlan. Delenn....I feel tingles rush across my body and attempt to calm myself. Seeing Susan in the door frame for the first time a couple of weeks ago made me freeze, meeting Sheridan was exciting, but Delenn...this is an entirely different feeling. She's like a holy person, quite literally. I will need to be careful. She's still growing into this evolution of hers, and does not yet have all the wisdom she will have. Security remains just two people, which is probably not ideal but it draws less attention to who am I. We reach Delenn's quarters. I can't believe this is happening still. Everything looks exactly like it did in the show, just more defined, more crystal clear if that makes sense. More real. I hear chimes. Or what sound like chimes, and feel a strange wave of calmness sweep over me as Lennier goes to announce my arrival to Delenn. A couple of minutes passes and as if almost floating, Delenn appears and I feel...like I felt when watching the series. Like I'm seeing an old friend. She is wearing her season two robes. The Purple and silver. I can't help it and bow to her, she exchanges a look with Lennier who simply nods.
"Mr. Young. Welcome. I would introduce myself, but you already know who I am, so instead I suggest we take a seat. We have a great deal to discuss."
"Ambassador Delenn. It is a honor to meet you." she nods and gestures for us to go sit down.
"When Captain Sheridan told me about you a few days ago, I thought at first he was...making a joke, but once he informed me that you knew...very specific...things...I knew that I had to meet with you."
"Delenn...this is going to be...difficult...or perhaps it won't--given what you know---but I know....everything." She pauses and makes a decision.
"Lennier...leave us please."
The ever dutiful assistant bows and obeys. I thought he might protest out of a concern for her safety, but I'm clearly not a threat. Both of them could take me out with some Minbari martial arts moves in less time than it takes me to finish this thought.
"Yes. This has created a most...delicate situation. You know then the real reason why I am on this station? Why Sinclair was reassigned to Minbar? Why Sheridan was chosen to replace him by the humans?" she asks in that harmonical voice of hers
"I know a lot more than even you do, Ambassador. There is so much I have to tell you and the Captain, but I don't know when to begin. I've arrived at a---delicate time for all of you. This is the beginning of things. The things that Dukhat warned you about, tried to tell you about---all those years ago. The things you discovered about Jeff---Ambassador Sinclair---I believe that I am here---that I was meant to guide both you and Sheridan. To help you unite the races against the Shadows in the coming war." I say
I Finally say their name out loud and it gets the reaction from Delenn I wanted.
"I thought I was alone in this...quest." Delenn says quietly her usually very controlled emotions starting to slip as I relieve her of burden
"Not any longer." I say
"You must be protected above all costs...if the enemy ever got a hold of---"
"It would be bad. Not just for me. I know...things they would literally kill to know. Things that would help them win the war in less than five months. Delenn, are you aware of what Sinclair is doing on Minbar?"
"I know some of it..."
"The Anla'Shok are needed now more than ever. Sinclair and Rathenn will organize them, and you will command them, as eventually will Sheridan."
The use of the Minbari name for the Rangers shocks Delenn. It is right then, that she knows that I am telling the truth.
"If you had arrived among my people...we would have---"
"Put me in a temple somewhere on Tuzanor, and have Rathenn assign telepaths to guard me?" I offer with a small smile
This time she covers her shock quicker, and bows---with a hint of a smile.
"Yes. That is the likely case."
"No doubt after the Council spent three days at least debating about what to do with me before coming to that result."
She laughs now. It is a musical sound unlike you've ever heard before.
"All right, you have convinced me of your capabilities. You can stop---showing off?" she asks and I nod confirming her use of the word is correct.
"I am not hear to harm anyone. I'm not here to disrupt anything, even though I have already to a minor degree. I am here to help, but I can't do that when I'm couped up in quarters. The risk---is great I admit that. There are certain folk on the station that I'd rather not have run in's with yet , I can only be protected for so long before people find out about me. I'd rather take a progressive stance in what I want to do, Sheridan will be upset, but can you advocate on my behalf?" I ask her
"I will do what I can, but it is best for the time being that you do not gallivant around. You will draw as you say, too much attention to yourself. I can arrange for you to be further protected above what Captain Sheridan, and Chief Garibaldi have already. Do I have your permission to inform the Grey Council about you?" she asks surprising me
I didn't think about that. The Council has members on it that can't be trusted too. They're still on the path to Civil War. I think I understand what Delenn intends though.
"Not the Council, and I have my reasons that I can not tell you yet, but I do give permission, as long as the Captain approves, for you to tell your clan, and to the extent of the Religious Caste, but no further than that. Ambassador Sinclair also can be told about me."
That perks her up.
"May I ask why?"
"Spoilers."
"Spoilers?" She asks pondering the word in that iconic accent.
"Spoilers?" she repeats and I laugh now
"I'm afraid so. I'll leave it to your continued Earth language research to figure out what that means." I reply
"Very well. This has been most interesting. We shall speak again soon."
"Of that I have no doubt." I bow to Delenn, and she repeats the gesture to me as we walk towards the door. Lennier is there along with my security detachment.
"We are done here. Mr. Young is to be escorted back to his quarters." Lennier bows now, and Lou nods
