Fair enough... how's "The story of a young necromancer trying to find her way in a world which has no place for her." work for you? Also, second post goes into a whole lot more detail on the story and setting.

Yeah, I am fully aware of that. But with all the people saying they followed the story here, it's a stark reminder of how few followed me after I moved on to other stories. It doesn't surprise me, never meant to imply it did, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't sting a little. Which is what "still figuring out how to process that" means.

    Like a great hook.

Which only matter if you get people interested enough to read that far, and before you posted that hook above I'm not sure I would have.
I remember hearing some of the late stories in Price seemed interesting, but as I never could get into the first one I stopped reading it.

Not sure about others, but for me at least, I avoid any 'quest' threads like the plague. Doesn't matter how much I like the author I just dislike the entire premise of the readers vote for the story direction.

That's reasonable. I think it's justified in using this system for Requiem, since the game it was designed for was supposed to be an open-world game with multiple possible endings and distinct storylines based upon the player decision.

Most of the major characters can be allies in some story paths and enemies in others... because I like replayability like that.

Same, which is odd because I liked the main character, there - or at least I liked the version of him that was in Amelia. Something about Price just failed to draw me in.
