An alternative to shampoo?

    I hate having my hair cut so after letting it grow to 3 to 4 inches I just shave it down to 1/4 to 1/2 an inch. Its been 3 weeks since I shaved it and I haven't used any shampoo since then and my hair feels nicer and looks so much thinker than it has in a long time. So far I've just been using water to wash it but I do feel like I should maybe use something else to wash it once in a while but I'm not sure what. Does anyone have any advice on alternatives to shampoo?
