Dr. Gero sat in hell for ten thousand years. His anger, hopes, dreams, and revenge became distant memories. He wanted to pass on, but fate has other plans for him. Awakening in the Ark in the body of a Elysion technician, he only wants peace. But the raptures stand in his way.

Prologue: A Long Way From Home

Dr. Gero sat in the center of a field of pink and purple grass. Little faeries, pretty insects, and colorful flowers surrounded him for as far as the eye could see.

His robotics were gone. His android body was missing. He was entirely human. His white hair and sharp eyes were entirely biological.

"This is it. I'm done." His shoulders slumped as he sat against a pink tree full of white and purple leaves.

A little fairy flew in circles around his head, tapping his nose with her wand, letting out a little giggle.

This was on the dot, his ten thousandth year in hell, to the day.

"I don't care anymore. I don't care about Goku. I don't care about my Androids. I just want to move on. Let me die. Just let me die," he grumbled half heartedly.

He had long since given up trying to attack the faeries, escape hell, or just about anything. He had been fully and completely broken. All his desires, hatred, and pain had left him in the first six thousand years. Now, all he wanted to do was finally, truly, and completely die. He wanted to disappear and never exist again. He had no anger, no joy, no pain, just apathy. Plain, uncaring, simple apathy.

He closed his eyes, took in a deep breath, and relaxed his head against the tree.

The faint, continual buzzing of something far above, the mild temperature of a climate-controlled room, and the sounds of conversation between two other people nearby broke Dr. Gero out of his trance.

Opening his eyes, he was greeted by the sight of a break room. It was carpeted with gray carpet; a coffee machine sat on a counter next to a recently cut coffee cake, and a table with two black chairs sat next to the gray wallpapered wall. A man and woman stood, each with coffee cups in hand, speaking with each other about utterly mundane things that didn't even register in Gero's brain.

"Another dream." He said with a voice like his in his early twenties.

"Gero, after work, wanna hit the strip?" The man asked from across the room. His short brown hair and bright green eyes shone in the light from the strip light on the ceiling.

Dr. Gero gripped the side of his head as thousands of memories flooded his head. Memories of the body he had entered. He grunted from the pain of thousands of memories slamming into his consciousness.

In this world, he was a technician for the Elysion R&D department. The Gero of this world went by the name Maki Gero, a name different from his own. He looked like he had in his youth. Strong, with a broad chest and strong arms. Long white hair rested beneath his red cap and Elysion worker's outfit.

"Are you alright?" The woman, turning to him, asked before hurrying over to him and placing one of the black plastic chairs behind him in case he needed to sit down.

Gero sat down as his mind swam. He breathed out a long breath. He was alive again. Finally out of hell, but that brought another question. Where was this?

The memories of this world were so different than his.

In this world, humanity had been pushed underground by the Raptures, mechanical monsters that completely decimated the human military, leading to the last of humanity holing up in the Ark. A massive country-sized underground city. It was the last bastion, and the last hope.

Who protected humanity now? Well, that was the Nikkes. Brave women that had been altered, changed, and remade in mechanical bodies, capable of fighting Raptures.

However, from the little he knew about them, they did not hold a candle to the Androids he had made.

Androids capable of fighting the universe's strongest. Son Goku and Vegeta. However, his heart held no hate for the Saiyans now, nor did he wish to replace humanity with an army of androids. No. Now he just wanted to sit down and let time fly by.

Right now, he didn't care about the Raptures, nor the Government, nor work.

"I'm fine. I just don't know what to do..." Gero said, letting out a sigh as his memories finally stabilized.

"Yeah, I think we're all stumped. Work has been rough these days for you too, huh?" His male coworker asked, walking over and sitting down on the chair he pulled out from the table.

"I think it's time I quit. It's been fun working with you, Kyle, and you too, Lisa." Gero said, leaning back in his chair, shoulders slumped, and looking blankly at the ceiling.

"I getcha man, stress is piling up on me too. Every time the boss lady comes by, we get ten more directives," his co-worker, now known as Kyle, said.

"We'll be here if you need us. We appreciate everything you've helped us with up until now. We'll miss you," Lisa said, leaning in and hugging Dr. Gero. Her brown hair fell over his shoulder.

Gero's eyes went wide. It had been thousands of years since he had felt a human's touch. It brought him back to his life with Vomi, which seemed like a distant memory. A single tear fell from his eye as he realized this truly wasn't a dream. This was his new reality.

Lisa stood back up and walked over to the cake, cutting a piece from it and placing it on a clean white plastic plate that was sitting atop a stack on the counter. She took a fork and knife with a napkin from a shelf in the cabinet above the counter.

"Have one last slice of cake with us before you go." She handed Gero the cake and silverware, and he accepted it and cut a piece off the end, slowly bringing it to his mouth.

He bit down on it.

Real food.

After surviving off the water from the stream in hell, and eating fruits from the trees, actually eating real food was overwhelming.

"It's...Good." He said, placing the plate in his lap, savoring the cake.

"Y'know, sometimes you're really confusing. Anyways, we have to get back to work. Break is almost over." Kyle said, turning and walking to the door before stopping.

"Good luck out there, big guy, but I'm sure you'll be fine." With that, Kyle left the room. It was the last time Dr. Gero saw him.

"I gotta go too. Thanks so much for everything. Call me if you ever need help." Lisa said before leaving the room with one final little wave to him.

'This is real, huh? I guess I have to do something about these raptures, right?' He thought, breathing in and out slowly.

That must have been why he woke up in this life, yet he didn't know for sure.

With no timeline and no instructions, he just wanted to relax. He wanted to hole up somewhere and live his life in peace, but the Raptures stood in his way.

If they wanted to stand between him and his peace, then he would build more androids, all stronger than even Android 17 and 18, to end the Rapture threat once and for all. The Raptures weren't just facing the Nikkes, now they faced the Goddesses of Victory and the full might of the Red Ribbon.

But right now, the Raptures could wait. He wanted to live like a human again, and just enjoy the little things before he dived headfirst into another war.
