Are ther half-quests?

Its a question Im wondering about cause...Im looking up CYOAs and they look interesting, but I already got like 5 quests going and I wanna look at something that may let me be more casual about it, throwing up whole non-voting chapters when I feel inspiration, but also occasionally putting up serious votes (like important decision junctures and which CYOA to chain to next)

Has anyone seen or done anything like this?

 

I realize that's pretty much all quests, but like a story that occasionally holds voteslike a quest does. Say i make a main character and starting world and stuff and for I dunno...5 posts, have no voting. Then there's a big decision, or I want to throw them into a CYOA so I throw up a vote for the readers, then the story continues for several more non-votable posts.

 

Closest I can think of is a couple of Round Robin and Worldbuilding threads, where while there is a story the op directs, most of the thread is bouncing ideas around for what should happen next, with more fluff than crunch.

Not sure if what you’re after has a consistent name, tbh.
