Some of the dukes like to snatch up serfs every once in a while, and send them out into the world, only to subsume them delicious memories and identity. It's not like you serfs don't just get churned out by the dozen everytime the Netherworld swirls***.

Oh, and now you're being summoned. Strange. You're fairly certain no one's learned your true name yet, considering that you're always summoned as part of an entourage.

Oh, you know! This must be one of those blind summoning, like a net casting out into the Netherworld to see what can be seen. This has its good and bad sides respectively. On one sides, the summoner will lack the power to enact stress upon your true name. On the other hand, your identity won't grow****.

Well, you guess you should better accept the calls. Better than waiting around to be drawn into the identity of a higher circle*****.

Hunter09. We are below even an 8th Circle Demon in power. We have No Chance at getting a Monkey as a body, it is Waaaay to big for us.

And I have No idea what this Force and Vector thing is.

Seriously, people, someone is summoning us for a chance to test our Skills! If we're a Craftsman Demon, and we can give this Mage our name, he or she could summon us again to make things for them, and in doing so we would gain power continuously.

Wind Master sounds to me like a DPS character, whereas a Crafts Demon has Skills worth exploiting. Give us Time, and we could forge Wonders.

Also, I'm on a Minecraft kick for some reason, and feel like playing as a Crafter.

Because I just feel like playing Red Spy as a Wasp. French accent and all. Even if we Don't have the Accent, at least I can dream of the hilarity and Horror that is Spy as a Wasp.

A wasp. That's right. It might be small, but small is deadly[1] and that's what matters. You think. Whatever.

Of course, small doesn't mean it has to be boring. You craft wings of pure wind, flowing in tiny miniature discs. Tiny little etchings flow along the side, marking your nature as a wind master [2].

And so you allow yourself to dragged out of the sluggish morass of the demon realm and into whatever summoning circle holds you. Hopefully it'll be some sort of wise wizard, with a beard of white[3], or a devilish sorcerer[4], or dare you hope it, an ambitious young wizard who might a foolish mistake and reveal to you his true name[5]-

You buzz around angrily as a multitude of teenage students chatter in french. What is this, some sort of wizarding school of witchcraft and wizardry? You extend your second layer of consciousness [6] across the second plane and listen to them as your first layer keeps your body functions working.

Robbin? Watching them, you note their true names [8]. These magicians aren't really the best at keeping secrets are they?

"Hmph. Whatever." The pink hair girl walks up to you.... and STEPS INTO YOUR SUMMONING CIRCLE [9]. Woah! Does she not know the basics of magical theory?

You buzz down to her hand, which she brings to her lips. And then she kisses you, covering your tiny form in saliva. Disgusting. You sit on her hand a bit.

Your body calsm down as the last of the pain fades away. You.... you're receiving essence from the world now[11]?

The Louise girl turns around, and you fly after her. You suppose that you're her familiar now.

[2] Not that everyone would say so. Most people who are higher than your ranking, i.e. everyone important, would state that you'd rank at best a wind novice, or maybe a wind pest.

[7] Third layer here, be taking over annotation duty until second layer comes back. You don't really do much most of the time, just calculate theoretical physics. This is much more interesting!

[8] True names have power. They define your essence. Even mortal names hold power, but knowing a mortal name you can mitigate any magical attacks or punishments they use, and if you know their entire true name, you can even break free of their bonds.

[9] Summoning circles protect the masters from the demon. Of course, you're not even powerful enough to hurt them badly, so it doesn't really matter.
