Honestly just an idea that's been on my mind for a while among other things. Was working on this while writing stuff for school and other fic ideas.

Like my RE stuff, the main Kamen Rider x Worm Story, Guda Guda Shinigami and a Warhammer crack fic.

Usually I save these messages for later but this may be a one-shot. I'll see how I feel about it later.

Anyways enjoy.

Fate / God Speed Ideals

Chapter 1 (Possible One Shot)

Years Ago

Fire…pain…emptiness…

It was everything I saw in this city…my parents…burned with everything else in the city. Like everything else around me…they died making sure I escaped this fire.

That's why I needed to survive.

My body was in pain.

But I needed to live.

People were crying to be saved.

But I couldn't help them…I had to survive…I needed to survive. That was all I could focus on, not dying.

Realty differed from what I wanted though.

Every step I took grew weaker and weaker. I couldn't feel my legs anymore, my body felt dead. But I kept going forward…even then each step was harder to take. My body was getting colder, despite the blazing fire around me.

I didn't know where those flames came from, all I knew was that I needed to escape them.

The same fire stretched out as far as the eye could see…and I couldn't feel anything…I couldn't see anything…All I could do was keep slowly moving forward and dragging my body away from this place.

I had no destination, all my feet wanted me to do was take me as far away from this place as possible.

"Help us."

Ignore the voices.

"Please-"

Just keep going forward, never stop.

I couldn't even remember my own name at this point. All that was left was a single desire, a desire to live. For someone, anyone, to help me.

Then my strength failed, and I collapsed on my back.

My body couldn't move, my limbs felt heavy. No matter how much I told myself to move, I couldn't even lift so much as a finger. Everything was getting darker and colder. My vision was getting hazier and I felt tired.

So very very tired.

"Some…one…Help." I muttered. Trying to reach up and grab something, any form of hope.

I should have died there, the man known as Shirou Emiya should have met his end in Fuyuki. But instead, I saw something, a light, that landed on my chest, a small bug shaped device and a belt. "What?"

Then I heard a voice, a calm confident voice. It filled me with newfound strength, and I felt something burning in my chest when I heard it. "He who walks the path of heaven, shall rule over all."

The Path of Heaven?

After that I blacked out, waking up and seeing a man. I was clutching that same device from earlier and wearing that strange belt.

But before I could focus on that, I couldn't help but look at the man.

He was crying, because he saved me? Why?

I didn't know the reason, I didn't know why but seeing that made me feel something. But that feeling wasn't the same as the one I got from that voice earlier. For some reason, I felt like the path this man was walking..was sad.

As much as part of that resonated with me, something about what that other voice said connected far more deeply with my soul.

I wanted to walk the Path of Heaven, I wanted to rule over all. So that this man wouldn't have to be sad. So that a tragedy like these fires never happened.

Most of all I wanted to find out what the Path of Heaven was.

Which is why I spent years after that event training. Finding out what that device was, and unlocking its power. Becoming who I was today, and gaining the power to walk the Path of Heaven.

My name is Shirou Emiya and this is how I became-

Present Day

"Oi! Wake up Emiya-kun!" I was woken up from my dream by the voice of my mentor, Ka-kun. The small device that landed on my chest all those years ago in Fuyuki. It had been a short time after I started living with Kiritsugu when the device started speaking to me. "Your harem is waiting for you! Awaken oh Shounen protagonist!"

"Yeah yeah, I got you Ka-kun." I slurred, sitting up from my bed and getting my bearings. Brushing my long red hair out of my face.

Not that I knew what it was ever talking about. The first words I heard out of the thing were harem this, and reincarnation that. From what I could understand it used to be a person from another world.

The idea of other worlds existing and there being other versions of myself was something I wasn't sure how to process.

"Morning Ka-kun." I said, getting up from bed slowly and beginning my morning routine. Getting out of my sleep wear and putting on my robes. Stepping outside my room with Ka-kun flying beside me. "Is Sakura up?"

It was hard to tell Ka-kun's emotions, what with it being a flying bug. But I could tell it was pouting at my answer for some reason. "That's it? Come on! Where's your passion!? You should be all up in her-"

Ah so it was one of those again.

I ignored Ka-kun's perverted rant and started tying up my hair. Assuming Sakura was already up and waiting for me in the dining room. Ka-kun followed me as I shuffled across my house.

"Ah, good morning Senpai." Sakura greeted me politely, her brown hair tied in a cute bun. She gave me a polite smile, already wearing her apron. Hands clasping another apron in front of her. "Did you sleep well?"

It had been a few years since I'd saved Sakura with Ka-kun's help. A few more to remove the last traces of those 'things' from her body. That fight against her 'grandfather' had been brutal, and I nearly died several times because I went into his workshop recklessly.

Sakura's eyes were a bright blue, while her hair became a dark brown with some purple highlights. I'd done the best I could with Ka-kun's help, but Sakura still suffered some side effects because of those 'things' that man gave her.

She didn't seem to mind, but I felt like I could have done more for Sakura.

I still didn't know why Sakura called me Senpai though. She picked that up from Ka-kun, or at least I had a feeling she did.

There was also the issue of Tohsaka visiting my home from time to time and bothering me at school about Sakura's health.

"Mm, I slept alright Sakura." I said, taking the offered apron from Sakura and walking into the kitchen with her. Soon the sound of cooking filled the room, it was a simple pasta I'd looked up online. Sakura stood by and prepared ingredients while I focused on the sauce. "Did you sleep well?"

"Better thanks to you, Senpai." Sakura nodded.

There was a long pause after that.

Both of us were focused on cooking, or at least pretending to focus on cooking. Enjoying the peace and comfort of each other's silent company.

At least we were until Ka-kun buzzed around and said some troublesome things.

"GAH! COME ON! Do something Shirou! If you're not gonna play the game, then pass the controller!" Ka-kun whined. After that he kinda just floated there between us. Seemingly satisfied with his daily quota of outbursts. "She obviously has major feelings for-"

"Kyaaa! Shirou you fieeeeennnnd~!" I didn't let Ka-kun finish that sentence, I backhanded the flying beetle into the corner of the room and turned to a more flustered looking Sakura.

"We should go shopping tomorrow, Sakura." I diverted the topic. Focusing on our usual grocery runs together. The fridge was starting to get empty, so now was the best time to go shopping. Especially if they were running any promotions. "You could try making that Miso again."

"Un, alright Senpai!" Sakura gave me a bright smile after that.

Seeing her smile reminded me why I started walking my current path. If walking the Path of Heaven could make Sakura and everyone else smile.

Then I wanted to-

"Senpai? The sauce is smoking." Sakura pointed out, shaking me out of my thoughts and towards the smoking Wok and soon to be burnt Pasta sauce.

Ah, crap.

I scrambled to make sure the sauce didn't burn.

Thankfully I managed to salvage my mistake a few minutes later, and morning Pasta wasn't ruined. Normally Fujinee would be eating with us, but she was out of town for the day because of personal reasons. Which really only left me and Sakura alone at home.

Aside from the occasional visits from Tohsaka, and Ka-kun.

"Ready to go to class Sakura?" I asked Sakura, dressed in my brown Homuhara academy uniform.

"Yes Senpai." Sakura walked beside me and took my hand. Walking out the front door with me as we made our way towards Homuhara Academy. We'd left earlier to enjoy a slower walk today, the weather was still chilly from Winter, but things were beginning to heat up with the onset of warmer weather.

My long red hair was tied back with a red string. Personally I'd wanted to keep it short and cut it ages ago. But Ka-kun had something about target audiences and appeal, it got annoying so I'd eventually let it grow out. Now It felt weirder to let my hair get cut.

Plus there was what Dad-Kiritsugu said about my stepmother and her hair.

It felt like it would be rude not to honor her memory somehow. At least outside of helping my step-sister out a few years ago. I wondered when she was going to come visit, last time I saw her she mentioned learning from some lord in the Clocktower.

El-something?

I couldn't quite remember the name.

Magecraft was something I practiced, but not as much as what Ka-kun was teaching me.

'Magecraft? Bleh, don't get involved in that world too deeply. Nothing good comes from that lot.' Were Ka-kun's words. He did allow me to practice the Magecraft Kiritsugu taught me, but never too deeply.

Which was why I was able to incorporate my Magecraft with Ka-kun's training.

"It's quiet outside, isn't it? Senpai?" Sakura said, and I nodded my head in agreement. Fuyuki's early morning was quiet, with the rain from last night, Fuyuki looked serene. "Should we go the long way to school? We can meet Issei and Shinji on the way."

The long way? Well, we did leave earlier than usual.

"Mmm, alright Sakura. Let's take our time."

"Thanks, senpai!" Me and Sakura stopped by several spots in the city while making our way to the Academy. It was nice spending time with her, and seeing her smile from the bottom of her heart. I still remembered the day we first met each other, and the incident with Zouken.

Honestly I think it was that meeting that made me walk away from Magecraft for the most part.

We had mostly crossed the distance to the temple where Shinji and Issei would be waiting for us. When Sakura suddenly pulled my sleeve and drew my attention onto her.

"Senpai. Do you think I'd look good dressed as a shrine maiden?" Sakura suddenly asked me for some reason. "Or any other outfits?"

"Sakura?"

What was she-

"Would you like to see me dressed in anything in particular, Senpai?" Sakura seemed to be really insistent on hearing my answer now.

Just where did this question come from?

My answer came in the form of Ka-kun's voice echoing inside my head. 'Pssst, Shirou-tan. Tell her you want the maid dress!'

Ka-kun…

Sakura was giving me an expectant look, it made her seem like a small animal.

For some reason I felt like I was being pressed to answer by some kind of invisible pressure.

"Well I-" The issue was that I wasn't quite sure how I was supposed to answer that question. I couldn't tell Sakura I wasn't interested because that would make her sad and go against my beliefs. But I couldn't give Sakura an answer because I didn't have one.

What was I supposed to do?

"Yo, Emiya-kun."

"Emiya, Fujimaru, I hope this day has been treating you well."

Thankfully we ended up meeting up with Shinji and Issei before I had to answer. Both of them were standing outside the temple and waiting for us.

"Tsk."

'Gah! My perfect setup! Ruined!'

Tsk?

Ignoring Ka-kun's usual strangeness, I felt like I heard a weird noise just now.

"Is something the matter, Senpai?" But when I looked over at Sakura she was giving me her usual smile.

Weird.

I decided to push that strange sound to the back of my mind.

"Morning you two." I greeted Issei and Shinji instead. "Me and Sakura are doing fine. How has the temple been?"

"Uhg, don't get me started Emiya-kun. Issei's in denial about-" Our walk to school became livelier, which mostly involved Shinji complaining about the food at the temple, and Issei bickering back that the food built character.

They were both good friends.

Shinji had been living in the Ryuudou temple for the last five years. He moved there the day I ended Zouken, he probably knew Issei better than I did too. As much as Shinji complained about life at the temple, he had said it was leagues better than living with his grandfather.

Multiple times, in fact.

But it made sense to me after I met and killed the man.

Thinking about Zouken again…sickened me. I wouldn't have known about a man like that or had the power to do anything at the time without Ka-kun's help.

According to Ka-kun, my actions helped Shinji.

I couldn't really tell the difference between the Shinji then and now, but Ka-kun said we saved him from a bad end. So I took that information as a win, I wasn't quite sure what bad end we avoided though.

Ka-kun said it brought me closer to the Path of Heaven and ruling over all. Maybe it also meant I was closer to having the power to prevent another incident like those fires.

"Emiya-kun are you listening? You're doing that thing where you zone out again." Shinji asked, while poking my cheek. We weren't far from the Academy now, the temple was actually surprisingly close to the school. "Yo~? Earth to Emiya-kun~?"

"Sorry about that, I was just thinking about what me and Sakura were gonna cook later."

Instead of making Shinji calm down, my answer seemed to make Shinji go on a tirade. "Mou~, you work way too much Emiya. You need to take better care of yourself for Sakura's sake."

"I don't often agree with Shinji, but he's right, you know?" Issei chimed in.

For Sakura's sake? I-

"St-stop that! Y-you two!" Why was Sakura blushing now too?

I mean I was going to make sure Sakura was taken care of, I promised that much when I saved her. But what did Shinji and Issei mean by that? Why was Sakura blushing?

'You may be walking the Path of Heaven, Shirou. But you still have a lot to learn about other things.' Even Ka-kun chimed in seriously.

"What do you all even mean?" The looks I got after asking that made me regret the question.

'Forget about it'
"Forget about it." Everyone chimed in.

The rest of our walk was spent talking about our club activities and what we'd be doing after classes today. Shinji and Issei were part of the student council together, mostly because Issei dragged Shinji into the position.

While Sakura and I attended the Archery club.

That reminded me.

"Sakura. Sorry, I'll be heading home late today. It's my turn to clean the club room today." I apologized, remembering my prior obligation. Normally it would be up to Shinji to help clean the club but he and Issei had important business at the temple. The other members of the Archery club also had their own obligations and I was relatively free compared to them. "If you need anything though, call me. Okay?"

Sakura nodded and smiled at me. "Un, I'll be waiting for you. Senpai!"

I had to look away bashfully when I saw Sakura give me that smile. In certain ways, parts of Sakura were dangerous.

"Emiya-kun."

"Emiya."

I felt several pairs of eyes staring at me smugly.

"Shut up." I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. Part of me could already feel the long rant Ka-kun was going to give me later. "I've already told you two, me and Sakura are-"

"Just friends, sure~."

The way both Shinji and Issei seemed to always manage to sync up like this annoyed the crap out of me. "Whatever, let's just get to class."

Just as we made our way to the school gate a loud voice called out to our group.

"You're all late!"

"Geh. Tohsaka." Muttered Shinji and Issei, both men flinching as Rin Tohsaka sauntered up towards the group. Evidently it appeared she had been waiting at the school gates for quite some time.

For some reason something felt different about Tohsaka, like there was something else there. But I brushed off that feeling for now, since it didn't feel like it posed any danger to any of us.

"Hey Tohsaka." I waved at Tohsaka. The same gesture I'd been doing for as long as I had known her. Which was admittedly a long time ever since I rescued Sakura.

Tohsaka proceeded to point at me with a red and angry face for several minutes.

"B-Baka!"

Before running off after saying that one line. I'd also felt that heavy presence I'd felt move away too, I'd wonder if it was magic related?

"Did. Did I say something weird?" I asked. Turning around to see Issei and Shinji a fair distance away. While Sakura stood beside me with this weirdly dark look in her eyes. Ka-kun told me the solution to this one. "Alright Sakura, enough of that."

"Se-Senpai! That's embarrassing."

With one hand on Sakura's head the dark look vaporized into a flustered expression. Ka-kun had told me this was a sure fire way to calm down Sakura when she got weird.

Well aside from Sakura and Rin's usual weirdness, everything seemed to be normal.

"Emiya-kun, you're way too relaxed." Said Shinji, but I wasn't quite sure what he meant by that.

Hopefully the rest of the day could be this peaceful.

Several Hours Later

"Whew, that should be the last of the club cleaned. Thanks for the help, Ka-kun." I thanked my plucky friend. Wiping the sweat off my brow, and taking a moment to take a breather. My exhaustion was mostly just for show.

"Kyahaha! Of course Emiya-kun! Afterall, as the sidekick of the future harem protagonist I-" And like that I tuned out Ka-kun.

The day had gone the same way it usually did. With the usual mix of helping around at school and listening to Ka-kun talk about another one of their random rants about being a Harem king or whatever their latest fixation was.

Half the time Ka-kun was either a great mentor, or deranged.

I noted that there was no in-between with these bouts of madness. It didn't help that sometimes Ka-kun would swap male and female tones.

Well, I was still grateful that they helped me clean the club room today. Even if it took most of the evening and stretched well into the night.

"Emiya-kun. Prepare yourself." Ka-kun said seriously. Suddenly dropping their earlier tone and vibe entirely. "Hostiles, two unknowns are clashing on the school roof. Your friend is nearby, the Tohsaka lady."

Rin!?

"Where are they right now?" I asked, getting up. Getting up and taking a more combative posture.

"They're moving fast. You should be able to hear the-"

Ka-kun didn't get to finish their analysis, because I heard it. The loud thud outside the club room, the courtyard. Followed by the familiar sound of combat, what sounded like swords colliding with another bladed weapon.

I ran out without hesitation, not recklessly but with the intent of making sure Rin wasn't caught up in any danger.

"Ka-kun, I'm going first. I'll meet you there!" I shouted to Ka-kun. Knowing they'd arrive well before I did. The courtyard wasn't far away and I'd be able to make it in a relatively short amount of time.

Hopefully before anything happened to Rin.

EMIYA Pov

'Rin, we need to fall back.' EMIYA said to his master, Tohsaka Rin for what felt like the dozenth time tonight.

Narrowly dodging a half-hearted thrust from Lancer.

Of all the opponents EMIYA wanted to fight at this moment, Lancer was near the bottom of his list. Ireland's child of light hard earned his reputation, even if Cu Chulainn wasn't fighting at his best, it was enough to pressure EMIYA.

'Not yet Archer. We still haven't found out who Lancer is.' Rin denied EMIYA's suggestion.

Tsk, stubborn girl.

"You're distracted! Archer!"

Crap!

EMIYA barely parried another thrust aimed at his skull. Before EMIYA could even think of counterattacking a swift kick from Lancer landed directly in his stomach. Sending him flying back towards where he'd placed Rin down earlier.

With a graceful backflip midair EMIYA managed to right himself and land on his two feet.

"So. Tell me something, Archer. You seem awfully competent with a blade. For a servant claiming to be an Archer." Cu said, taking a more relaxed posture. Spear resting against his shoulders, a trick. Archer knew what would be coming next, in particular he knew Cu's orders. "Not many servants could keep up this long against me. So, who are you?"

EMIYA already knew what he was going to say. What he hadn't figured out was a way to block Lancer's Noble Phantasm and protect Rin at the same time.

"Unfortunately I can't seem to recall my name, Lancer. By no fault of my own. I assure you." EMIYA said. Shrugging his shoulders and giving Tohsaka a glance. "My master seemed to have desired Saber, but summoned me instead."

"A-Archer! Are you implying this is my fault!?" Rin said, offended. "Answer me, Archer!"

"Implying would mean I was telling you this indirectly. I'm telling you this is your fault. Master."

Rin let out a flurry of curse words at EMIYA, most he wasn't even aware Rin Tohsaka was even capable of saying out loud like this. Cu seemed to be slightly amused by EMIYA and Rin's banter.

Good, it gave EMIYA more time to think of a way to escape.

Because as long as Gae Bolg was on the playing field, EMIYA and Rin were fucked. It didn't matter what weapon he projected, once Cu caught on to EMIYA's gimmick he'd adapt.

Gae Bolg, a spear whose name affected causality.

Guaranteeing that every blow with the lance would 'pierce the heart', determining that any strike with the spear would always be a fatal one shot kill. A sure-kill weapon once named, and an Anti-unit Noble Phantasm when used as a traditional spear.

But there was more to this lance than just that.

When Gae Bolg was thrown it changed from an Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm to an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm.

EMIYA knew about the details of this Noble Phantasm well.

"Well you two have certainly been entertaining. But I think it's about time we ended this." Cu said, taking a throwing stand. His spear ignited with a devilish red glow, a tell-tale sign of his Noble Phantasm. "Archer."

Fuck.

"I was about to say the same thing, Lancer." EMIYA bluffed. Taking his own stance, Kanshou and Bakuya held forward. "I must warn you Lancer, your defeat won't be quick."

EMIYA had hoped that would buy some more time while he tried to get Rin to leave. 'RIN! We need to get out of here. NOW!'

'Nah, you got this Archer! Fuck'em up!' Unfortunately it seemed this version or Rin was even more deranged than the one he remembered. 'How dangerous can Lancer possibly be if you've been keeping up with him?'

EMIYA was beginning to go insane.

"Oh? My defeat? Is that a fact. Archer?" From bad to worse, it seemed Archer's bluff only provoked Lancer further. "Then how about we find out then? Whether my spear will pierce your heart! Or if your swords will reach my throat! Archer!"

Fuck fuck fuck!

"Sharpen your teeth. GAE-" Lancer started charging absurd levels of mana directly into his spear. His legs tensing and getting ready to unleash his Noble Phantas,

FUCK!

Then a familiar voice EMIYA was all too familiar with spoke up. Breaking up the moment, as a figure stood between him and Lancer.

"Tohsaka! Are you alright?" Said Shirou Emiya, turning back to look EMIYA in the eyes. His gaze went from EMIYA to Rin. That same back, those same eyes, and that same attitude. "I'm here to help."

EMIYA felt a bitter, resentful part of himself rising up the longer he saw Shirou.

All the mistakes of his past, standing in front of him waiting to happen. A reflection of the misguided, foolish and utterly naive reflection of what EMIYA used to be. It reminded EMIYA of his one wish to the grail. Even if it was impossible to fulfill.

But then another thought.

Shirou Emiya was never supposed to appear like this, not here. That was supposed to be later, when Rin came over to his-

"E-Emiya! What are you doing!" Rin seemed to have caught feelings for this version of EMIYA too. Something wasn't right, EMIYA could feel it. "Get out of here! What are you-"

Shirou simply raised one hand up slowly, pointing towards the sky.

Was he…striking a pose?

EMIYA was confused, more so when he heard the next lines out of Shirou's mouth. Line he was one hundred percent sure he'd never said in his life. Not with a straight face at least.

"Rin. My mentor once said. The worst thing a man can do is make a woman cry, and waste food." Shirou said calmly. That's when EMIYA noticed something else, a belt in Shirou's free hand. "Even if the world was full of enemies, there is someone I have to protect."

What kind of third grade-

"E-Emiya!" Wait, that worked!?

EMIYA was close to having a mental breakdown. This had to be some sort of bad dream, maybe he was still in the throne?

"Hmm. You're not a mage. But you know the girl and you're stepping in for her sake? Looks like we have a real hero here, huh?" Lancer said, cupping his chin. Looking Shirou up and down like a novelty. "Well, before I have to kill you. Tell me your name, boy."

EMIYA heard a small buzzing sound, a flying object heading right towards Shirou. Something Lance noticed as well, his eyes tracking the object heading right for Shirou's hand.

"My name? My name is Shirou Emiya." Shirou said while catching the small red object in his right hand. Hooking the belt in his left around his waist. "And I. Am the man who will walk the Path of Heaven."

The Path of what now?

"Oh no you don't!" Lancer didn't seem at all bothered by what Shirou had said. Instead he rushed right at Shirou, spear raised and aimed at Shirou's heart. "I don't know what that thing is. But I'll be damned if I let you use-"

Everything was slightly different, but things were going about the same way as they were supposed to go. Shirou would have his heart pierced by Lancer, and be saved by Rin.

EMIYA had started to feel relieved at that. At least things weren't too different.

That's when Shirou truly and utterly caught EMIYA off guard.

"Henshin."

WHAT?

EMIYA watched, internally flabbergasted by what he was seeing. Shirou Emiya saying the signature catchphrase of Kamen Rider while slotting that small red beetle shaped device into the front of his belt.

Then came the sound from his belt when Shirou pulled the horns of the device.

"Henshin!"

Shirou Emiya disappeared.

Standing in his place was an armored warrior, whose outline EMIYA could vaguely tell looked like Kamen Rider. Which had him second guessing an entire slew of his life choices up until this moment.

A small part of EMIYA had also found the transformation cool, feeling a pang of jealousy that a version of him got to transform.

Into a Kamen Rider no less, even if it looked to be a self proclaimed title.

"What!?" As for Lancer's spear, it hadn't scratched the armor. Sliding against the chestplate with dramatic sparks. If EMIYA had to guess why it didn't pierce Shirou's heart, it was because Lance hadn't said Gae Bolg's name before attacking.

An opening Shirou hadn't taken likely, swinging a small hatchet at Lancer who swiftly dodged it and back peddled. "Tsk. Not bad, but you'll need a lot more than that to reach me, boy. A servant isn't something a regular human can just-"

"You're right. It was arrogant not to go all out from the start." Shirou calmly said. Interrupting Lancer and grabbing the device on his belt again. "Cast off."

The entire time Emiya was stunned, watching the armor panels on the armor start to break apart and-

"Rin!" Emiya shouted, covering Rin from what happened next.

"Cast-Off Change Beetle!"

When Emiya took a look after covering Rin he was stunned. "Is that a-"

"Shirou Emiya isn't my only name." Shirou Emiya said. Pointing towards the sky and taking a pose. "Kabuto. Kamen Rider Kabuto. That is the name of the man who'll defeat you. Clock-Up."

Then Shirou moved, faster than even Emiya could track.

Even Lancer barely raised his spear in time to block the next series of blows that attacked him at every angle.

And all Emiya could think was-

"I want that."
