  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but seemed a tad too general and unimportant for the announcements threads lol. Was just curious where the distinction lay between Quests, PBP, and general fiction. I have an idea I want to do that would just be a CYOA, in that readers would answer a poll to decide what happens next, but when perusing quests I see all sorts of Character Creation aspects and getting X amount of players or slots for people to fill so was wondering if a Quest needed more reader involvement or not. Also, is there a place to find all of the different tags and such to add to titles and other general etiquette in regards to warnings put into content or what to include in summaries? A lot of this is my first experience with Forums in general as well. Thanks for the advice and/or help in advance

Creative Writing - Simple Writing without active reader input.

PBP - Individual players control individual characters or faction and write their own posts in response to the QM posts under some rules.

Quests - The QM writes posts, and players vote on which action will be taken next.

Character Creation is often a part of Quests, but it is not a requirement. You also don't need a specific amount of slots - those are more often used in PBP, because individual players have more of an influence on how things go in the story, but isn't technically a requirement there either, beyond what the QM believes they can handle.

Tags are largely vibes based on QQ. What setting is it in? Which information about what you want to do, do you think would be relevant to your players?

Summary, is largely exactly what it says on the tin. Summarize the premise in a way that helps understand what the quest will be about.

On warnings, with QQ it's most often related to more extreme kinks. Also not necessarily required, but it's a general curtesy.

I appreciate the help, just always intimidating getting into online spaces with all of the general etiquette and things people are used to doing that I am able to mostly avoid on AO3 lol
