What I said on the title. Been getting random email alerts to threads or people I followed. I always keep keep them off by default. When I look to check in thread/profile they come up as disabled. It's random too, like an OP made an update it emails me, same OP makes another update later, nothing.

    Hmmmmmm right.

Think my issue might be the same thing as this. Just replying to a thread sets it to watch and email alerts, been setting watch manually and setting it to no email from inside the thread.

Awkward, didn't even know that setting was a thing.

Like does it reset the watch thread and email alerts every time you reply to the thread...
Or is it because I sometime set watch before replying and then this issue crops up? Turned it off now, hopefully fixed.

There's an option in your profile to control whether automatic follows send E-mail or not.

I just received an email alert I was not expecting. The alert (and hence email) in question was... very NSFW.

I checked the automatic watch settings and turned off the "email me" one, as discussed prior. I thought I had done that earlier, but I don't know.

Firstly, can the config for new-user default settings be set to not have email alerts, if it isn't already?

Secondly, if that did change on me, it would be worth keeping an eye out in case it happens again or to anyone else.
