  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

Reach for the Stars!

SI before I was born, and it's all horribly venal. A Nun helps JR Ewing extort money from the state, and a woman who hates working out has the back of Magnum P.I.

Honestly, aside from the promo spots the video is boring as fuck, but I found it interesting how the promo campaign tied in to how audiences want to help the "hero" of their favorite shows.

The host is an insufferable fuck sucking cigars while sitting in a horrible red leather chair in... I guess it's a starship? who cares. He's no ASB.

(Not so) fun fact: That aired about five months before I was born.

'85 for me, it gets worse as it goes on, the man is clearly a demon from hell.

I remember being uncomfortable with a lot of TV as a child, and this brings a LOT of that energy back.

Like nightly TV scared me, and not in the way a "bad disc read on ps2" scared the kids after me.

I'm a big fan of the LAUGHTER fic in that 70's show and I think the network asshole in this promo would be fantastic as an adversary in that one.

But I did find the nun and the excercise bike woman interesting, they both got to "go into" their favorite show.
