Rather than clog the arteries of miscellaneous threads with pizza talk, here's a place for it.

What's your favorite kind of pizza? Got any pizza related anecdotes? What does an anchovy even taste like? What's the worst pizza topping and why is it pineapple? (kidding)

Y'know, stuff like that. Also, remember that while pineapple pizza memes are fun, let's not be dicks about it cuz we're all friends in Pizza Land.

Pineapple on pizza is delicious and in fact is one of the best ways to eat pineapple.

A lot of people who don’t like it are probably trying to envision the taste of raw pineapple on a pizza, and don’t understand why anyone would put clumps of sour patch kids on an otherwise good slice of pizza.

However, they likely have just never had cooked pineapple before. When cooked, it becomes very sweet and goes particularly well with cured meat like pepperoni or as something for meat to soak up the juice of when cooking, such as chicken.

The worst pizza topping I regularly see is pasta. Like, okay, you’re in a pizzeria and you have to choose between getting some penne vodka or a pizza, so why not just get both?

But it it doesn’t work nearly as well as just getting both and plowing one on top of the other at home. It just tastes like casserole or baked ziti when you cook the pasta on top of the pizza in the oven like that.

The most confusing pizza I regularly encounter is...I think it’s called a Ranch pizza? Instead of tomato sauce they use ranch dressing, and instead of mozzarella they use...cheddar, bacon, and potato skins. Like, there’s nothing particularly bad given those ingredients and in small dosages, but am I really still eating pizza...?

Honestly, I just straight up don't like pineapple. I've had pineapple pizza, mostly because it took until adulthood for me to get it through everyone's skulls that I don't friggin' like pineapple, and it's just not something I enjoy.

Pasta pizza sounds weird. Separately is fine but, together sounds like it really would screw with the flavor.

Ranch... I guess technically it's a pizza? Maybe? I might need to contact a scientist for that one. It sounds more like a novelty side dish for watching sports than an actual meal though.

As long as it has onions, garlic, mushrooms, tomato sauce, cheese, and a crust thick enough to pick it up, I’ll probably eat it. And yes, those are the toppings that I consider a pizza utterly incomplete without. I guess the garlic can be granulated on top, but I look with disfavor upon this.

I'm a big fan of Alfredo pizza. Gives it a unique flavor. Also, deep dish is a decent way to make food, but when you deviate that far, is it really pizza?

Depends on your perspective. If you're a strict traditionalist, then thin crust is the only acceptable option. If you're more free form then allowances can be made for thicker crusts or New York style floppy doos. If you're a radical pizza-er, then you might consider the following as pizza:

Personally, I would say the first has ventured into the realm of true pies and the second is a damn cake.

You could also consult the following chart:

For another deep and philosophical question, what is everyone's favorite brand of frozen pizza? I like Jack's as it's pretty good for the price and doesn't taste of cardboard and sin like the cheaper options.

Goodfellas for me, though I’m a plain cheese pizza heretic.

I have a theory that the people who get upset about pineapple pizza are universally people who have never tried it.

Anyway, the weirdest pizza I’ve run into recently is a Korean chicken pizza. Sounds reasonable enough, until you see the shredded cabbage and carrots slathered all over the thing. Not bad, though.

Anyway, I haven’t had decent frozen pizza in a while, so I forget which brands I actually like. But I do know that if you’re lucky enough to have a Penzey’s nearby they have a frozen pizza sprinkle which is surprisingly good on frozen pizza. Go figure, huh?
