I thought I would start a thread here to share some of our various HOA horror stories that happened to you or someone you know.

    I will start.
HOA signed a 20 year deal with comcast in 2017 forcing every single person living under that HOA to pay for comcast basic cable at a "discount" that was basically more than full price. Even though most people are cable cutters who use netflix instead, or used verizon fios, or dish, and also most of the neighborhood were pensioners for whom it was their summer home, and in winter they left to warmer states. Also even if you did use comcast it did not play nice with any of their deals, so you got shafted there too.
Apparently this is a common predatory practice by comcast, as a quick search shows it happening to other people and in other states

Also, apparently HOA can foreclose on your home... average debt for a bank foreclosing on a home is 195k$, average debt for a HOA to foreclose on a home? 2k$ in unpaid fines.
