  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

As of just now, whenever you try to like a post, you are redirected to a confirmation page with a big button in the middle that says ARE YOU SURE YOU WISH TO LIKE THIS POST?

Not sure why this feature has been implemented.

Uh... that is intersting?

I just tried liking your post, and it didn't give any popup for me, though that might be something to do with me being a mod.

Also, I've not seen any chatter in our separate mod/admin space about forum software/plugins being updated, which there always is when those get done.

Are any other non-mods seeing this behavior?

This seems like a malfunction of the anti-CSRF protection. I would try any of:

- refreshing the page
- logging out and in again
- clearing cookies/storage and logging in again
- trying a different browser

and see if that changes anything.

I get it every once in a while when I had a page open in the background for a while before going back and liking something. It always stops after a page refresh. Like alethiophile said, it's might be caused by a sensitive security feature when you haven't accessed that tab recently

I remember that randomly happening a few times. It's always gone after a refresh. It's also very rare for me at least.

As a non-mod, I had also clicked LIKE, then un-liked the OP's post as a test, and it did not generate a pop-up, or ask for any sort of confirmation from me, either.

If you turn off javascript you can be consistently sent to the page, and if you've got a laggy connection you can like before the page finishes loading and get the non-js redirect instead of the js functionality. Opening the like button in a new tab or otherwise going directly to the url linked on the like button will also take you there.

I get this very often but it's always been either page failed to load (a refresh fixes it) or the page hasn't finished loading yet and I needed to wait five more seconds.

something is off with your connection to the site, refreshing the page usually fixes it and if not then turning off and then on your jnternet will. Not sure how or why it happens, but it is a rare thing and easy to fix.

Did it to me when I liked tacobowl's post, but when I liked alethiophile's post it didn't do it. I suspect it has to do with me being on my phone and my connection bouncing off different towers than my normal internet, or something. A fresh load seems to get rid of it
