I'll admit I was surprised by the interest in it too. I guess they have a thing for tall, dark and dangerous females. Then again, I wrote the story.

Sindri's House

"Brother, why don't you illuminate the home owners about the Norns?" Mimir asked, slowly walking around in circles, getting used to the fact that he had a body now.

A body!

He wanted to jump and shout, but the situation was too grim for that.

"Right, the Norns. Did they tell you how to get Atreus back? Do we have a plan?" Sindri asked, fiddling with his hands.

"The Norns say Atreus will be killed by Heimdall. The plan is to kill Heimdall first," Kratos said, silencing the dwarves.

Sindri stopped sharpening the blade, pacing around, with a fluctuating tone to his voice. "Oh. Wow. Okay. Heimdall. Let's see. Never loses, sees everything coming, and is unpopular at parties. This won't be easy."

"Whatever his advantages, I will overwhelm him with my own," Kratos said, stern and confident.

Also a little bit angry, brothers noted.

"That's the idea. You have to overpopulate his senses, see? And I got just the thing in mind to help you do it. Sindri, go get Draupnir," Brok said.

The dwarf brothers descended into an exchange of ideas without actually uttering them. They worked in tandem, understanding what the other meant without the full sentences. Once the idea was crystalized, Brok sent Sindri to retrieve Draupnir.

He remembered it from the human myths. A ring that created eight more of itself on every ninth night, a gift to Odin himself.

"Draupnir?!" Mimir asked as the dwarf brothers finished. "I bloody knew these two had nicked it …and Odin blamed me for it disappearing."

Kratos wanted to know how it would help him kill Heimdall. The blue dwarf left the question unanswered, only saying they were artists. Freya was saying something about storing Draupnir when Sindri opened a secret door behind a shelf.

"You know, it all starts to make sense now. Tyr's hesitancy for violence and war. It was all Odin's attempts to stop us," Freya said, laying her palm on her forehead, eyes stormy.

"He has failed," Kratos said, glancing at Loki.

"Thanks to our guests."

"You know, lad," Mimir stopped before him. "You must be one hell of a god of magic to detect Odin's disguise and, of course, give me a new body," he said, clenching and unclenching his hand.

"There are different kinds of gods. Kratos, Freya, even Odin—they are all gods of flesh, bone, and blood," he said, gesturing to the mentioned gods.

"What kind of a god are you then?" Freya asked. Kratos was content to watch and listen from the side, but even he was intrigued by the answer.

"I am pure magic, power," he said, shedding the outer layer of his right hand. "My power is on a scale different from anything you have encountered."

She considered the implications for a moment before shaking her head. "Forget I asked."

"Lads, what's your Heimdall like?" Mimir asked, changing the subject yet again.

"He is the Gatekeeper of Asgard and the Guardian of the Bifrost. He is proud, noble, and loyal to Asgard before anything else. He has eyes that allow him to hear and see everything across the Nine Realms. And unlike here, he is not our brother," Thor said.

"Hear and see everything?" Freya asked. Just imagining Heimdall she knew with that kind of power made her lightheaded. He'd see every secret, every plan, and every attack coming.

So would Odin.

"Yes. There are, of course, ways to get around it. Generally though, he is Asgard's first line of defense," Loki said. There were contingencies in case Heimdall was ever out of commission.

Which were put in place after he accidentally sent him to the healer's room.

"Huh, good thing our Heimdall can just read your intent," Mimir said.

"Atreus, he is Loki, right? My counterpart? Where did he go?" He was actually looking forward to meeting a version of him that wasn't evil.

The stony look on Kratos' face broke. He almost looked like a snarling beast now. "To Asgard."

"What for?" he asked. Given how mentally unsound—batshit crazy, as humans would say—Odin was, that sounded like a horrible idea.

"He… believes Odin has answers for him," Kratos said. They all knew he was hiding something but didn't want to pry further.

"He wouldn't be the first version I met with less than acceptable decision-making abilities," Loki said.

"Wait," Freya stopped, turning to Kratos with a face paler than his skin. "Since Odin's cover is blown, what is to stop him from doing something to Atreus?"

Kratos' eyes widened. He turned to the door, ready to rush to Asgard to find his son.

"Unlikely. Whatever he is seeking, he believes only Atreus can give them those answers. Otherwise, why would he bother in the first place?" Mimir asked. His words must have carried enough sense for Kratos to stop.

"Let's hope the goat boy is right," Brok said, watching the god of war have an inner battle.

—

Sindri returned with the ring, saying they had to go to Svartalfheim for the rest of the materials. Loki, Thor, and Cosmo decided to tag along. Brok and Sindri got into an argument near the gate, with Brok wanting to visit the Lady this time.

Eventually, it was Kratos who decided the blue dwarf would be the one to do it.

Mimir, on the account of wanting to stretch his legs, took a shield and a sword from the forge, following Kratos and Freya.

The gate, the same one they had come through, gave Brok trouble at the start. With a rather colorful language, he got it working again.

—

Svartalfheim

"So wait, Svartalfheim is the world of the dwarves?" Loki asked, already writing it down.

"It is not the same in yours then," Freya said, helping Kratos burn through a strange fungal growth.

"It was the world of the Dark Elves," Thor said. He wrapped his hands around the gate in front of them, ripping it off while Kratos was searching the tunnel beyond the fungal growth.

Freya sheathed her bow. "What happened?" The Aesir believed that Svartalfheim was the realm of the Dark Elves. Not because it was, but because either they were too stupid to make the distinction between elves and dwarves or too uncaring.

"Long ago, they tried to transform the Nine Realms into a state where only they would be able to survive through the use of an artifact called the Aether. Grandfather Bor stopped them and hid the Aether. The king of the Dark Elves, Malekith, had his fleet crash into Einherjar lines to destroy our army. It did not work," Thor said, waiting for Kratos to loot what he needed. It was understandable since they couldn't exactly trade. Not with Asgard keeping a tight grip on most resources.

Freya and Mimir put the grandfather part on a list of questions to be asked.

"This Aether must be extremely strong to affect all of the Nine Realms." Nothing short of Fimbulwinter and Gjallahorn could have such power.

Loki turned two creatures to dust. "It is part of the Infinity Stones, six gems of limitless power, each one representing a different part of the universe. When gathered together, it would give the wearer the power to do basically anything," he said, watching for more. They were as interesting as they were ugly, using their tongues as whips to fight.

"Anything?" the smartest man alive asked.

"Anything."

"Yep, your universe is mad," Mimir muttered again as they proceeded through the service tunnel.

Kratos and Freya took out two more of the same monsters before they stopped in front of another gate. Thor ripped it out of the hinges as well, laying it on the side.

"You are strong," Kratos said. Even in the short time they knew the Greek, it was obvious he was a man of few words.

"I always train in the Tenth Realm. It is a great way to go beyond one's own limits."

"Tenth Realm? I thought you had nine of them too," Mimir said, confused just like the rest.

"It's a bit complicated. Why don't we speak of it once back in the abode?" Loki asked. If explaining the concept of different universes was difficult, this one would be nigh impossible.

"He is right," Kratos said, raising his axe as five monsters came to greet them.

"Everyone take one," Freya ordered. Loki clicked his tongue, and Cosmo leaped forward. One of the monsters began to float before it was slammed to the ground, violently and repeatedly.

The rest were quickly disposed of.

"Forgot to ask, what's with your hound?" Freya asked. She was too smart, too sharp, to be a mere animal. Even by the standards of familiars, the warm brown-furred hound was too aware.

"I am Cosmo," she said to their minds. So far, the subjects were not the kind of things she cared to chime in on. Which is why she had chosen to nap during the entire meeting. Two gods and the fae stopped, watching the dog, unsure how they heard the voice.

"You can talk?" Mimir asked, crouching to let Cosmo smell his hand, mouth slightly parted.

"Cosmo is special. She was exposed to a form of power, giving her advanced intelligence and power," Loki said as simply as he could.

"Nice to meet you, uhh, lassie?" he said, scratching her head.

"You too, goat legs," she replied, her voice echoing in their minds once more.

"Kratos… Kratos!" Sindri called out twice as he was ignored the first time. Loki watched him phase back into the dimension they were in. He had already seen the dwarf follow them but saw no need to mention it.

"Please listen. You have to let me take Brok's place. He can't talk to the Lady. He mustn't," Sindri pleaded, his voice straining.

"No. Do not ask me again."

"Listen," Thor said, bending over to the dwarf's eye level. "I have a feeling there is something you are not telling him. It is obviously private, but he won't change his mind otherwise. I barely know him, and even I can tell that much. If you want him to change his mind, you'll have to give him a good reason." Whatever secret Sindri was keeping, he would have to determine whether keeping it a secret anymore was worth it.

That and he was in no mood to deal with secrets.

"He is right," Loki said.

Sindri raised his hands halfway up, squeezing his fists before he slouched forward. "There was an accident in the forge a long time ago. Long story short, Brok died, and I stole his soul back but not all of it," he said.

"Bloody hell," Mimir cursed. "You've been keeping it from him."

"Yes."

"And since he doesn't have all of his soul parts, he can't talk to the Lady," Mimir said.

"Yes. So please, you have to," Sindri said to Kratos. He huffed, looking away, but didn't refuse either.

Loki coughed, having already had enough of the family drama. "How about I restore his soul and we cut this very dramatic scene short?" It was very sweet and understandable. If Thor were dead—not that it would ever get to that point—he'd resurrect him as well. However, he didn't want to deal with the emotional parts.

"You can do that?" Sindri blinked. "Wait a second, of course you can," he muttered.

"Yes. On the condition that you tell him the truth."

"Restoring a soul is not an easy feat, not even remotely comparable to restoring a body," Freya said. Loki gave her a blank stare, and she raised her hands, palms open towards him. "But if you think you are up for it, far be it from me to dissuade you."

"Let us find him," Kratos said, moving again.

The next area required a bit of puzzle-solving to get through. Any other time, he'd be happy to oblige for the sake of the experience. This wasn't one of those times, so he waved his hand, making the doors disappear.

Freya shrugged and walked through. "That is truly convenient."

The corridor led to a room where a monster, larger and uglier than the ones they had met before, was waiting. Thor threw Mjolnir, nailing the monster in the face, sending it stumbling. Freya launched arrows that lit the monster purple before Kratos threw his axe, freezing the beast solid.

Thor summoned his hammer back, shattering the monster to pieces.

The deeper they moved, the heavier the atmosphere became. Freya, with Tyr revealed as Odin, wasn't shy to say there was a need for a new god of war. She mentioned how the Giants were hiding a mysterious figure, a champion who changed the course of Ragnarok. Her insinuations that it was Kratos were not welcomed by him.

Cosmo, bored with the talks, rushed forward.

"Will she be alright?" Freya asked. Loki didn't seem concerned about the hound, no matter how gently he treated her.

"Yes. The monsters can't get through her protection wards."

"Brother, how does your Ragnarok start?" Mimir asked. He wanted to see if there were any parallels to help them uncover more. Even with what they had learned so far, there was much they didn't know.

"To us, it's not about preventing it but causing it. Do you remember how we said our father was a bloodthirsty conqueror in his younger days?" Thor said, turning a Grim to a paste on the ground.

"Before he changed because he couldn't sacrifice your sister, yes," Freya said. Hela's fate sounded similar to Baldur's. A weapon to be used by the Allfather, discarded once useless. Only this version of Odin had done it for the good of all.

She chuckled, but it was devoid of humor.

"Hela draws her strength from Asgard, as do Father and I. Not counting Loki, the only person who can defeat her is Father. Otherwise, she'd be invincible in Asgard. To stop her from starting a war against everything, we have to destroy Asgard," Thor said. Their hypothesis was confirmed with what Loki had managed to learn from his variants. Considering everything was the same on that end, he didn't think there would be a difference in that regard.

Except for the fact that Loki could crush Hela like a bug.

"So you know how everything will proceed? How?" Mimir asked, swinging his blade to clear it off the blood. He took a deep breath. Even this moldy-smelling air couldn't stop him from enjoying the joys of breathing.

"Ever wondered what if you did something different in your life?" Loki asked Freya, an idea forming in his mind.

"Yes. Many things," she said with a distant tone. Kratos glanced at her but didn't say anything.

"There are timelines, different branches of the same tree, where your choices were different. I managed to meet enough variants of myself from different timelines to know how Ragnarok will happen," he explained.

"That is useful," Freya said, imagining a world where her son was alive.

The rest of the path until they reached the surface was devoid of monsters courtesy of Cosmo. The cute-looking dog had painted the tunnels with viscera and blood, waiting for them at the end.

In the next chapter:

"By the way, that woman you talked with, your mother, who is she exactly?" Mimir asked. Loki and Thor had shared much, such as his true parentage, how Odin had adopted him, and so on. He hadn't mentioned their mother much, though.

"Frigga," Loki replied. He saw three more Einherjar arriving in different locations. He guided them into a single point. Thor didn't even need to be warned, already knowing what his brother would do. He fired a lightning bolt that tore through all three.

"What?" Freya turned around sharply.

Svartalfheim

"The fuck you doin' here?" Brok said, glaring at Sindri.

Sindri's hands fidgeted. "I… uh, remember that certain accident we had in the forge?"

"Yeah? What about it?"

"There was something I didn't tell you about."

Brok narrowed his eyes, hammer stopping halfway to pound the sword. "I died, didn't I?"

"Yes."

"You scab-sucking liar!" Brok leaped forward, trying to throttle his brother.

"Wait, wait," Sindri said, holding his hands up. Kratos intervened, stopping the blue dwarf from tearing his brother a new hole. "I didn't get all parts of your soul, but good news! He can restore it." He pointed at Loki, who was watching it with amusement.

"What?" Brok's head snapped to him. He stopped trying to get through Kratos, lowering his hammer.

"Yes," Loki said, waving his hand. Brok stumbled back, trying to breathe. His blue skin faded into the same color as his brother. The real change was inside him, however. He felt a part return, one that he didn't realize he was missing.

He leaned on the table behind him, looking at his hand. Loki created a mirror before him. He approached it, touching his face, unable to accept the change for a moment.

"Fascinating," Freya muttered. He had simply pulled the direction part of Brok's soul back, making him whole again.

With no visible effort.

She still had doubts, as did Kratos, but if their mere presence could change the future, she would risk trusting them for now.

"Fuckin' hell," Brok muttered. So many things made sense now. His blue skin, the way the other dwarves treated him and all that shit.

"See? All good," Sindri said.

"You little," Brok began to curse, ready to jump at his brother again. Sindri took the cue and disappeared, slipping between dimensions.

"Beanstalk," the dwarf said, shaking his head. "Loki. I owe you a big one. If you ever need something my hands can build, name it." Whatever he wanted, whether it be weapons or tools, he would make it.

He owed him that much.

"Now that I think about it," Mimir began, stroking his beard. "I didn't even thank you properly."

"You are still in the shock of having a body. It is understandable." He could see the hesitation in Mimir's movements. He was waiting to be picked up, to be carried as a reanimated head.

"No, no, it's not. I might not have much to offer a person of your power, but if there is anything at all, I will be there," he swore.

"Thank you."

Brok left with Kratos to speak to the Lady, while Freya asked for their help in eliminating nearby Einherjar.

—

"Can't believe these are the Einherjar," Thor said, pointing at a gray-skinned warrior with the head of another.

Mimir blocked the swing of one, allowing Thor to smash it to the wall. "How different are they compared to yours?"

Loki waved his hand, creating a mindless construct in the form of an Einherjar from his universe. The golden-armored warrior ducked beneath the wild swing of the pale warrior, removing the arms at the elbow first before a spin took the enemy's head off.

The construct dove into the remaining patrol, cutting through them with terrifying efficiency.

"Certainly an improvement," Mimir said. If Odin's Einherjar were half as good as the one butchering the patrol, they would be in for difficult times.

"Not your counterpart," Thor said as he wrapped a lash of lightning around two Einherjar and the beast one was riding, sending them upwards. A swing of Loki's hand cleaved them in half, parts becoming ashes before hitting the ground. "Vanaheim already has a Freya as its queen. While Mother is from Vanaheim, she was never a queen before marrying Father."

He saw Freya visibly sag.

"Thor's mother here was a Giant, Fjörgyn. Of course that didn't stop Thor from killing every Giant he could," Mimir said, standing a bit at the back. He wasn't a warrior of physical exertions but of mental ones. He would simply get in their way.

Now it was Thor's turn to sharply frown. "He killed the Giants? Why?"

"Because that's what Odin wanted from him. He thinks they are a blight on the Nine Realms," Freya said. She pulled her blade off the heart of the last Einherjar, letting the corpse fall.

Thor's muscles tightened, lightning dancing on his brows. "I am going to kill him."

"Your counterpart?" Mimir asked. That certainly looked personal.

"Odin," Thor said. "Once, when we were children, Father told us the story of the last great war against the Jotnar who were invading Midgard and how peace was achieved at last. I didn't understand the lesson at first, thinking it was about vanquishing monsters."

"I told him it was about preserving peace," Loki said from the side while scratching Cosmo's chin.

"Yes. The Thor you know is who I would have been had my Father not changed his ways," he said. His counterpart was a weapon, just as Hela was once upon a time. Only this lesser version of Odin had only delved deeper into his obsessions.

As such, Thor of this universe had become a monster.

Freya sheathed her sword. "Well, get in line. There are a lot of people who want his head."

—

It didn't take long until Kratos and Brok returned. The dwarf had a dreamy smile on his face.

"So? Let us see it, brother," Mimir said. Kratos nodded, a spear appearing in his hand. He slammed it to the ground, displaying the latest creation of the famed dwarves.

"A Draupnir Spear?" Freya asked.

"The Draupnir Spear," Kratos corrected.

"A weapon to kill a god. You know where this is going right, brother? One could say you are on the verge of returning to form," Mimir said.

Thor and Loki shared a glance. Was the Greek good at killing gods?

"Does it scare you? To aid another violent god?"

"I'm scared for you, brother. That spear could start a war. The war. If that no longer concerns you, then maybe Freya's right. Maybe the Giants had you in mind all along."

Kratos did not reply. The journey back down the mountain was spent in silence. Loki's offer to simply teleport them up was refused before. He didn't see the need to ask again, just moving himself and Thor down. They took the mystical gateway back to Sindri's house while he, once again, did it with a snap of his fingers.

—

Sindri's House

"Look at that," Sindri said. "She's special, that one."

Kratos was brandishing their latest creation, Draupnir. Brok still gave Sindri a stink eye but didn't seem interested in committing fratricide.

"Have you found a way to reach Asgard?" Kratos asked, dismissing the spear.

"Um. Not as such. Had a few ideas, but they didn't so much… work," Sindri said with a crooked smile. Kratos let out a ragged breath, walking away.

Loki and Thor shared a glance, an act that was becoming repetitive. He considered offering to teleport him to Asgard, but Kratos was not a person who trusted easily. It wasn't worth the hassle.

"Brother, without a way to Asgard, what are we doing?" Mimir asked.

"I do not know. I need to think," he said, reaching the back of his belt. He stopped, shaking his head, and walked to his room.

"Uhh, we don't exactly have too many rooms. Would you be open to sharing one?" Sindri said. With Tyr revealed as Odin, they had one room open for their guests.

Loki glanced at the closet-sized room. "Or I can make some modifications to enlarge this house?"

The dwarf brothers shared a look, nodding at one another. "Well, what are you waiting for?" Brok said with a chuckle.

Loki snapped his fingers. The walls began to widen, adding more space between where Kratos had gone off to sleep and the room next to his. It grew wide enough that two more doors appeared, each one leading into more spacious rooms, furniture included.

"Loki, could you be able to make a room for me? Now that I'm actually alive, I do actually feel tired," Mimir said, accompanied by a yawn.

Another room appeared on Kratos' right.

—

"What do you think, brother?" Thor asked. "They seem to be wary of us." Two strangers, one claiming to be their enemy, the other bearing the name of Kratos' missing son, had arrived out of nowhere.

Trust was in short supply, evident in every moment Freya and Kratos watched them.

Loki lay on the bed, creating one for Cosmo. "We disturbed the predictions of these Norns. They are suspicious but they don't want to lose people who could change their fates."

"The Greek, Kratos, doesn't seem too interested in going to war. Without a general to lead them, how are they supposed to declare war on Asgard?" He didn't know how prepared this universe's Asgard was. The mention of a wall and the need for Surtr didn't exactly inspire confidence in this fledgling war effort.

"Worst comes to worst, we can gather our friends and the Einherjar to raze this pale shadow of Asgard to the ground," he said. He had considered destroying it himself, but not everyone was responsible for Odin's evils.

"Should we bring the others? At least, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three," Thor asked. The more the merrier. Especially with fine warriors such as their companions.

"The house is crowded as it is. We can call them to battle instead."

"Good night then," Thor said, leaving the room.

"Good night, brother."

—

"What do you think, milady?" Mimir asked just before Freya could enter her room.

She sighed, leaning her forehead on the door. "Thor Odinson from another life, under the same roof as me as allies. What am I supposed to think, Mimir?"

"That we are fortunate. I mean, we can agree they are not spies. Not with that kind of power," he said. He knew Odin couldn't do the miracles Loki had shown. With no other enemy to speak of, who would send those two to infiltrate their little group?

"The idea that there are an infinite number of us in existence is baffling enough. If it means we'll have more gods against Asgard, allying with this version of Thor and Loki is something I more than welcome."

"Aye. Good night, milady."

She nodded, twisting the knob.

—

They woke up the next morning to the sound of battle.

Undead were pouring out tears in reality. Loki had felt the disturbance in the fabric of space, waking Thor with a mental warning. Freya and the dwarven brothers were outside the house, battling the walking dead. Kratos had left earlier with Mimir to find his wayward son.

Thor summoned a storm cloud, raining lightning across the small field, incinerating the undead. Loki turned what he missed to dust.

"Keep them off me; I'll close the tear," Freya called, dashing across the field towards the tear in the fabric of reality.

The mystic doorway activated, allowing a light auburn-haired teenager through. Loki watched him mutter 'no' several times.

"It's you! Wait… it's you!" Sindri scowled, too busy fighting.

"Kid! Nice timing. Kill something, will you?" Brok asked, far happier than his brother.

The kid didn't need to be told twice, drawing his bow and firing a salvo on the creatures. Whenever an undead managed to get in close quarters, the kid would use his bow as a bludgeoning tool.

He was well trained.

"I need more power. Atreus, come help me with the spell. I'll show you how," Freya called.

Loki's eyes brightened, a wide smile on his face. So this was his counterpart, Kratos' missing son.

Atreus didn't question, rushing to help Freya close the tear. He began to repeat the words as she instructed, and the tear began to shrink.

He swiped his finger to the side, turning an undead that was creeping on Atreus to dust.

The mystic gateway activated again. Kratos and Mimir had returned just in time to join the fray. They were quick to surround Atreus and Freya, standing between them and the undead. Between the six of them, the undead were destroyed as fast as they arrived.

Freya and Atreus closed the tear. A burst of force and mist sent everyone flying away, except Thor, Loki, and Cosmo. They merely felt a breeze, standing resolute.

He was more interested in what Kratos would say to Atreus. The bald god walked forward, as did Atreus with his head hung and posture slack. They stood still for a moment before Kratos spoke.

"What do I call you?"

Loki rolled his eyes. That sentence alone was enough for him to give Kratos the same parenting book he had cursed his father with.

Atreus didn't say anything, standing there. He let his bow fall, throwing his arms around his father. Kratos was taken back and took his time hugging back.

"Atreus, what has happened?" Kratos asked as his son continued to sniffle.

Atreus let his father go, taking a couple of steps back. "It's all my fault. The Hel-Walkers. They're everywhere. Everywhere."

"There was a wolf in Hel. He was in chains, and I set him free. I thought that if…"

"Garm?!" Mimir bellowed with his freshly reconstructed lungs. "Great bleedin' fuck lad, you freed Garm?!"

Atreus took a step back, rubbing his eyes to make sure he was seeing correctly.

"If the Hound of Hel is loose, he'll chew through the fabric of the realms. Hel-Walkers are just the beginning. What were you thinking?" Freya asked with a disbelieving tone.

Mimir stomped his hoof. "Aye. This is a fuck-up of not insignificant proportions."

"Enough. Leave him," Kratos said, his tone brokering no argument. "Atreus has made a mistake. One that we—" He put his hand on Atreus' shoulder, "will fix together."

"Grand. Now if you don't mind, I'd rather stay here. I've had my fill of my visits to Helheim."

"Wait, wait. How do you have a body? Why is Brok not blue? Where is Tyr? Who are they?" Atreus fired off a string of questions, looking around at all the changes that had happened while he was gone.

For a couple of days.

"Yeah." Mimir scratched his head, reveling in the feeling. "There is actually a lot you need to hear."

"The matter with Garm seems urgent. Why don't we two accompany you? I can get him up to speed on the road," Loki offered. He didn't want to bother sealing up all the rifts when he could assist in stopping Garm.

"Very well," Kratos said, activating the mystic gateway.

In the next chapter:

"What?" Freya asked, eyes livid. "That's it? Odin's been obsessing over this mask over nothing?" All that the Nine Realms had gone through was because Odin was fixated on a mask that did not matter in the end.

"The mask does have charms meant to make those with weak wills desire to wear it, promising what they want the most."

"A trap then. But why?" Kratos asked. Why would anyone create this mask in the first place?

"You don't want to know."
