Not getting alerts for watched threads

    So, I recently realized that some of the threads I watch aren't giving me alert notifications when new posts are made. I have pretty much all of the alert options turned on, and I haven't ignored anyone, so I should be getting alerts about any posts in those threads since I last loaded the site. Or anything happening in those threads while I'm viewing the site. But that isn't always the case. Notably the "Silly Shenanigans on SB" thread (which I originally came here for) simply stopped sending me alerts. So did Baked the Author's snippets thread and also the introduction thread, but I'm less bothered by that last one.

    I've also commented in all three of those, in addition to watching them, so I should definitely be seeing alerts from them.

    I'm also worried since there's another thread that I've Watched that doesn't update very often and I'm concerned I'll miss when it does update.

    What happens if you unwatch and rewatch it, and set it to receive e-mails? Do you get notifications and e-mails?

    alethiophile and ultima333 might know more.
