Kenta was trapped.

The attack on the foriegners staying at the hotel went off without a hitch. Originally, the attack was intended during the day- But Daichii rethought that, and moved the schedule to the night previous. Much to the surprise and joy of him and the rest of the gang, the Chinese businessmen not only didn't have any muscle to guard them, their luggage held piles of money and bricks of fine, white powder. ​

He had heard of this before- That some gangs, when they wanted to initiate new members, would lock them into cells or dunk them into pools of water to test their mettle before they were allowed to join. He had always thought that it was exaggeration, that it wasn't such a big deal.

Kenta took his share of the money with glee. It wasn't too hard to find people selling all the things he'd ever wanted but couldn't have- Pornographic magazines, video games, even a handful of knives designed to throw or stab with equal ease. Perhaps he could fashion himself as some sort of ninja in the group? He didn't have powers like Daichii or Ren, so he'd have to make due with his own strength and cleverness...​

Now, clawing at the sides of the metal coffin that held him, he knew better.

"These are the ones who want to join?" The man asked with a sneer. "Wet behind the ears whelps who think that brute force is the height of power... Pfah."​

The first couple of hours hadn't been so bad. He'd been able to sit, meditate, tell himself it wouldn't be long. After that, though, time began to blend together. He wasn't sure how long he'd been in here, anymore- he couldn't see any light from the air slits, couldn't hear the sounds of people murmering outside, couldn't even smell anything but the acrid tang of his own piss and blood.

"Test us then!" Daichi boasted, perhaps too loudly. "If you doubt our strength, then let us show it to you!"​

It was pointless. He was alone, he was powerless, he was going to die...

He was floating in a sea of stars. He had no body nor mind, and yet he existed without either and watched as twin beings moved, drifting through the astral sea towards a planet formed of water, earth, air and fire.

He got the sense of communication- Concepts his being wasn't designed to grasp, but was able to hold an inkling of, skimming across the surface of what he was. Then he fell, and there was the sudden sense that he was being watched as he plummeted towards the earth- Towards Japan- Towards himself.

Kenta arched, not quite screaming as information poured into his mind. There was an instant where he was aware of the entire world around him, but then the focus narrowed down- To himself, to a blinking sense of other things beyond the wall of metal he was trapped behind. Then the sense was gone almost completely, leaving only a vague awareness at best.

The coffin opened with a single, wide swing, and Kenta fell to his knees outside it's confines. He looked up into the narrow eyes of the man who had ordered his imprisonment.

The man smiled thinly. "It seems you might be more useful then I thought."

"My comrades..." You wheeze out, looking up at the Man. "Where are they?"

There is a flicker of something behind the man's eyes for a moment, but it is soon gone. "Have you already forgotten? We are your comrades now." That insufferable- That wasn't what you asked. "Of course, I suppose little Daichi will be happy to see that one of his friends has gained his freedom. Perhaps I should show you where your former companions are now?"

You follow the man through the dungeon that had held you. More iron coffins line the walls, some open and some closed. In passing, you note one with brown, stained scratches on the inside of the door, and look away with a shudder. You hadn't been the first 'Guest' here.

There is a stairway, and then bright light that blinds you. It takes a moment to realize that it was because your eyes had adapted to the darkness, rather then any excessive brightness- And as you blinked the tears away, you wonder how long you'd been down there.

Long enough, it seemed.

Daichi held a prominent display in the center of the courtyard, lashed to a tree with tight ropes. As you approached him with the man, you smelt a sick odor about him. Small worms crawled through purpled, dying flesh around the bindings, and as you looked up into your friend's face you realized with dawning horror that his eyes were hollow and empty pits of ruined flesh.

"Poor, poor Daichi," The man said singsong, mockingly, "He was so unhappy with the way we decided to test you. He tried to take over, you know?" Daichi moaned, low and slowly, revealing a bloody stump within his mouth. "Such a pity. He would have been so useful, if he wasn't a traitor. Well? What are you waiting for? Go and say hello to your 'Comrade'!"

You stumble forwards, and retch onto the ground. Damnit... DAMNIT! This was supposed to be your springtime, when you and your Nakama made your mark upon the world! Not this... It wasn't supposed to be like this!
