Alan Walker, a young teen forced into the world of the supernatural unwillingly, a system that seems to not give him any hints and a mystery on the horizon as he starts to notice that his regular highschool... had never actually been regular, he simply hadn't noticed the signs.

The side effects of his choices already in effect, will he be able to handle the consequences?

January 18th, 2005.

In the western hemisphere of the planet, inside the North American continent, in a small town, lived a boy.

This town was called Forks. It was a small town with not a big population, a town where everyone knew everyone, and even their own parents knew each other, it was a sort of closed community where everyone grew up together.

That didn't mean that everyone had a good life inside this small town in the united states of America however.

Living on 5th Ave, close to the St. Anne Church. Alan Walker, an 18-year-old boy, was in his bed, inside what could only be called an apartment that was one step above homelessness, or maybe half a step.

He was sprawled all over the bed, his left leg dangling over one side as drool dripped down the side of his mouth, whilst heavy snoring sounds came out at the same time.

It was at this moment, as he was deep in sleep, that an electric current appeared out of thin air. It looked like something straight out of a fantasy, as lightning appeared right on top of Alan's body, sizzling and crackling before seeming to move like a snake, slowly slithering towards his open mouth.

Arriving at the open, drooling mouth of the teenager, the lighting flickered for a moment before rushing forward and entering his body.

For a moment, silence reigned inside the small room before it broke.

Alan's body started shaking immensely, convulsing on the bed as the tremors going through him took complete and utter control.

Alan's mouth opened wider, his eyes simultaneously doing the same as a piercing scream of pure pain shot out of him.

After a brief moment, the tremors started to subside, together with the pain that had coursed through his entire body.

Alan, still confused, his mind barely there, heard another sound, a sound that didn't seem to come from him or anything in his room, and yet it was as if it had rang out directly inside his brain.

At that same moment, as the bell-like sound had rung inside his mind, Alan saw a holographic panel with a red coloring scheme appear before him.

Looking at the words that seemed almost to be inscribed instead of written on the panel, Alan felt his already major headache grow somehow even more.

'This… this piece of fucking shit, what is this?' Alan thought, completely and utterly confused as he tried to gather his breath and gather his bearings at the same time, though it was proving to be quite the challenge.

He had been woken up to an insane amount of pain, and now he was seeing things in front of him.

'Have I finally gone insane? Is this the next level? Schizophrenia? Nah, is this shit even worse? Did I become a full-on fucking emo…. God fucking damn it all.' Alan muttered with a sigh as he lifted his hand and ran it through his dense, black, wavy hair as he slowly moved his feet from the center of the bed to the side and got up.

The holographic red screen seemed to follow him no matter if he walked away or turned around to face away from it, it would still appear right before him.

'God… I can't believe that I'm actually going to try doing this… and I need to stop mentioning god… but this… I feel like for once in my life, im justified to act however the hell I want.' Alan thought to himself as the headache slowly but surely healed.

Looking at the screen once more, he saw two options, Yes or no… or at least it seemed like two options at first.

'The no, it's fucking grayed out. This fucking trash, fucking FUCK.' Alan thought as he shook his head, his hands shaking in anger as he slammed his finger on the yes button, simply to get it over with.

For a moment, Alan's eyes simply widened as his mouth opened slightly in shock, before at the top of his forehead a bulging vein appeared, twitching rapidly as his entire face instantly started to change color from a pale milky color to a deep red.

'Is this trashy ass shit system telling me that I'm a dumbass? What does Looksmax even mean? I can guess, but that's not even a word….' Alan thought as his hands shook slightly.

He wanted to hit something so badly, however, he had already tried discreetly, and his hands would simply go through the panels instead of shattering them when he tried to hit them.

*Sigh*

"Deep breaths… slow deep breaths," Alan muttered with a sigh as he took a slow deep breath before releasing it slowly, calming himself in the process as he once more turned his gaze towards his stats.

'Alright then… time to invest some points.' Alan thought.

Chapter 2 New
'Alright then… time to invest some points.' Alan thought as he looked at the menu before him.

'If this is like a game and I were to logically think about it… about my life. What do I need the most?' Alan asked himself silently as he stared at the first stat before shaking his head slowly.

'No, we don't really live in a world where strength really means much, do we? With modern weapons, you don't need much strength to pull the trigger of a gun, and anyways… I'm not going to get into any fights.' Alan thought as he quickly dismissed the first stat.

His eyes lowered onto the next one. Perception.

'The ability to detect… so I'd be… a better marksman? A sniper? But… I also don't think I'd really want to be like uh an army guy, I just want a chill life.' Alan thought as he dismissed the stat as well before turning his eyes even lower to the next stat.

Endurance.

'This… uh, related to health? I guess I would want this if I want to live a long, healthy life, right?' Alan thought, but still didn't put in any points, instead going to the next stat.

'Charisma… this one… this one is really needed, Charisma is basically a lottery ticket, politics, fame, influence, it's all related to Charisma.' Alan thought as he didn't hesitate, instantly placing two points into it.

[ Charisma ] [ 7/10 ]

Looking at the next stat, Alan similarly didn't hesitate for a moment.

[ Intelligence ] [ 7/10 ]

And then Agility… It was reaction speed, and movement… Alan decided to simply leave it as it was. It was a useful stat, more than strength but not as much as the others.

Finally, the last stat on the menu.

[ Luck ] [ 6/10 ]

'Luck… It's even more subjective than intelligence and charisma. It doesn't show immediate effects usually… but if I am lucky… It… it can change my entire life in a single moment.' Alan mused in his mind, getting ready to end it, when he noticed something on the screen.

[ User can take off points from stats and reassign them to others during this single opportunity. ]

'I can… take off points?' He thought as he turned his gaze towards the other stats that he had already dismissed.

[ Strength ] [ 5/10 ] -> [ Strength ] [ 2/10 ]

[ Perception ] [ 5/10 ] -> [ Perception ] [ 2/10 ]

[ Endurance ] [ 5/10 ] -> [ Endurance ] [ 3/10 ]

[ Allocatable Points ] [ 8 ]

[ Charisma ] [ 7/10 ] -> [ Charisma ] [ 10/10 ]

[ Intelligence ] [ 7/10 ] -> [ Intelligence ] [ 10/10 ]

[ Luck ] [ 6/10 ] -> [ Luck ] [ 8/10 ]

Looking over the new stats, Alan felt quite satisfied with himself, with this new stat spread, he would be able to gain a lot more in the current modern world, Charisma would let him influence people and at the same time would make him more attractive, and Alan was a teen, which teen didn't want to look like a model for the ladies?.

Intelligence would let him breeze through school and be able to create possible inventions, though Alan still wasn't sure just how it would influence him, and lastly, Luck would just make him have an easier time in life.

[ Complete Stat Allocation? ]

[ Yes ] [ No ]

Lifting his index finger and pressing the yes button on the holographic screen, a ding-like notification was heard instantly, and then a sort of white flash appeared over his eyes for a moment before the sight returned to normal, except it wasn't normal.

"Huh… why do I feel… so sluggish… and why's everything so damn blurry?" Alan muttered for a moment before his legs gave up on him and he fell flat on his bottom on the floor.

'No… no way right?' Alan thought inwardly as fear started to set in his mind.

'The stats… strength at a two… and endurance at a three… did I just turn myself into a disabled person?' Alan thought, his mind racing at the implications of what he had just done, was dawning on him.

Moving his hand to the floor, he tried to push himself up, what had usually been an easy movement was now a chore, having to try his hardest to barely be able to lift himself up and waddle over to the bed and sit down.

'Side effects? It says side effects, right?' Alan thought as he had to get as close to the holographic screen as possible to read the entire thing.

Pressing each of the perks did nothing, it showed no description, nothing to help him learn what these specific traits were in the first place.

'So I have to pick…based on their names?' Alan mused in his mind, his panic was still there, a growing one at that, at what was happening, at the fact that he could barely stand now and was practically blind and would need glasses to even see somewhat normally.

"Okay… let's pick elf. Sirens are water-based creatures. I live in the land, picking that is just a bad idea. Oni… is a kind of Japanese demon? Yeah, not good. Elf is the only one who's human-like in appearance. If it does change, and at the same time they have a long lifespan, it'll be okay." He muttered as he lifted his finger, the act requiring the same amount of strength it had taken him to usually move his entire body, and pressed the icon.

Chapter 3 New
For a moment nothing happened before he felt it, it was an itching feeling at the sides of his head, specifically at his ears.

What started as an itch quickly transformed into pain that shot through his entire head.

Lifting his hands up to clutch at his head as he fell sideways on the bed, all Alan could do was release a scream of pain, he could barely hold his own head, barely move at all, all he could feel was the pain shooting through him.

*Crack* *Crack*

The sound of bones breaking and rearranging was both harrowing and loud in his mind as he felt it happen.

Thankfully the process didn't seem to last longer than thirty seconds before everything returned to normal, still Alan couldn't move, he had never even broken a single bone in his entire life, never gotten injured seriously, never felt this kind of pain before, to him it was a complete system shock that almost made his mind shut down completely.

'Deep breaths… deep breaths work…. Fuck fuck fuck.' Alan thought inwardly as he tried to take breaths, slowly, shaking as he slowly pushed himself up to sit upright once more.

Once seated properly, he lifted his hands tiredly towards his ears and touched them hesitantly.

The outline was similar yet different at the same time, at the very top, the ears were slightly pointed, it wasn't as big of a change as he had thought, infact they felt pretty normal.

[ Perk 'Elf' is fully in effect. ]

[ This perk is a unique growth type perk. ]

'All… all that pain for just ten percent?' Alan thought as he felt a shiver run through his entire body at what the system holographic panels before him were telling him.

The last holographic panel finally disappeared from his view, vanishing into thin air and leaving him all alone in his small bedroom.

"It's gone? What…what now?" Alan muttered as he slowly got up whilst holding one hand on the bed and stabilising himself before letting it go.

His legs still felt like jelly, feeling weak as if his muscles had decided to take a very long vacation.

"Okay… this system… it it should be like in novel's right? Do I just… say status?" Alan said and at the same moment as the word 'Status' left his mouth, a new holographic screen appeared before him.

Looking over the status screen, Alan felt a slight amount of relief hit him, his strength was still abysmal, however his agility and endurance were now in a good range, atleast he wouldnt die randomly from some kind of sickness.

'God… what would have happened if I dropped Endurance to one? Would I die just because i breathed too much air?' Alan thought to himself, feeling like the idea was a bit too believable for his liking.

Turning around with a sigh, he looked at the clock on his wall only just now realising, without this bullshit that had happened, today was a monday, he still had school to attend.

Looking at the clock on the wall, the time already eight am in the morning.

'Im late, but frankly at this moment in time… my homeroom teacher can go suck his own… ' Alan thought as he slowly walked to the left side of the room where his closet was and started changing into his everyday clothes, a simple worn pair of jeans and a black tshirt with a wool jacket on top before turning towards the right of the closet and grabbing his backpack, slinging it over one of his shoulders and walking towards the door and stopping to lean down.

For a moment he felt like he would fall over as he had to hold the wall instantly as he leaned down to grab his shoes and put them on, a pair of shoes that had most certainly seen far better days, they had originally been white but now… they looked far closer to the colour of brown than to white.

Tying them on as quickly as he could, he quickly got up using the wall for stability again and opened his door and headed outside.

Walking down the street and towards Forks Highschool, Alan Walker had a hundred thoughts on his mind, each of them revolving around the incident that had just happened to him.

As he walked down the street, passing by the church and towards his school, he lifted his hand and put his hair slightly over his ears to cover up the slight upward point that they now had, they still looked human but they had clearly changed and people could notice.

The weather was cloudy as always, light rain would most likely be happening at any moment however this was a regular daily thing in Forks.

To many, this day, January 18th of 2005 would remain just a regular day in their memories, something forgettable, however to two people, today would mark the start of their journey into the supernatural.

A young boy of eighteen who had already taken his first unwilling step into this world and the young girl who would get her chance to enter it, willingly.

Two different paths, each leading to something inhumane, yet one was forced and the other was given a choice.

This story was only beginning, though the first stage had already been set. And its two main protagonists were finally about to enter the stage, at the same time.

Chapter 4 New
Walking slowly, Alan took much longer than usual to arrive at the front gates of the highschool, thankfully it seemed his body was adapting at a much faster speed than usual, his agility clearly helping him with his mobility issues though even it had trouble carrying the burden of his disturbingly low strength stat and perception.

If it wasn't for the fact that he could react fast enough and put his feet and bodyweight instinctively on specific points, he would have already fallen down on the ground multiple times by now, simply from hitting rocks on the road and bumps that he hadn't seen.

Looking ahead at the gates of the school, he saw a few people sitting by their cars in the parking lot however he couldnt see who they were at all, all he knew was that they were people because the blobs of shape were moving slightly every once in a while.

'Fuck… I really screwed myself up with this perception bullshit. I need to get a pair of glasses or contacts as soon as possible.' Alan thought to himself with a grumble as he continued walking towards the front doorway, through the parking lot.

When he was almost there, a thought struck him suddenly as he turned his head towards the blob that now barely resembled a human since the distance had closed by quite a bit.

'Charisma… means that I can do this right?' Alan thought as he nodded his head at himself, hyping himself up as much as he could though it really wasn't making much difference.

'Okay… just go… and ask them to help me find glasses or something.' Alan thought as he slowly walked inbetween two cars and arrived at the three blobs trying to be as stable as he could, falling down face first right before them certainly wouldn't help anyone.

"Hey." Alan said as he gave a wave of his hand and finally arrived close enough that the blobs turned human shapes and into actual faces that he could see.

'Oh… oh fuck.' Alan thought as he instantly realised who he had just talked to.

Right before him were three of the most well known bullies in the entirety of Forks High, Adrian Stanley, John Doe and Jeanie Lopez.

'Come on, I can do this. I have ten charisma, I can make them my friends, The stats say so, that means I can do this.' Alan thought inwardly as he braced himself and kept his eyes fixed on Adrian, John and Jeanie who had turned around surprised and were looking at Alan with what could only be pure confusion.

"I was wondering, yall got a smoke? Forgot mine at home." Alan muttered, despite wanting to sound as confident as he could, the words formed were barely there and almost shaking.

John looked at him for a moment before his expression changed, it went from simple confusion to one of pure amusement as he looked down at Alan.

"Sure buddy, here." John replied as he pulled out his pack of malboro and flicked open the top before sliding one out and handing it to Alan.

"Right. Thanks." Alan muttered as he took the cigarette and forced himself not to lower his head any further as he patted himself but didnt find the lighter in his pockets.

"Here." Adrian muttered as he threw a lighter towards Alan who for once in his life felt pure relief at managing to catch something out of the air.

'Thank you agility, thank you.' Alan thought to himself as he felt himself calm down slightly.

"So, never really talked to you before, what's your name?" Jeanie asked as she leaned against the car door.

"Alan, Alan Walker. Senior. I don't really talk much with people, stick more to myself." Alan spoke as he lit the cigarette and took a soft drag, instantly feeling the nicotine hit his body and start to clam down his nerves.

"Right, so you must already know us right? It was kind of surprising to see you actually walk up to us. Also, you look like you've seen way better days, you hurt anywhere? You were practically stumbling." Adrian said as he released a soft hum.

'They… seem normal?' Alan thought to himself, shock going through his system at the casual talk that was happening before him.

"Ah, kinda had a problem with my eyes recently, rapid deterioration of eyesight, can't really see as well now. So yeah, will likely need to find some glasses or something around the school today if I actually want to be able to see anything past five feet." Alan said as he leaned back against a car to the side.

"Oh? Sound's rough. I could probably help you find some, come sit with us at lunch. I'll find some by then, wont know what level of prescription glasses it'll be though." John said as he gave a tiny wince when Alan spoke about not being able to see and then proceeded to offer help.

"Really man? That would honestly be a life saver, I'll pay you back." Alan said, his voice finally not a soft whisper but normal and clearly more than excited at the prospect of being able to see again.

Seeing the joy in his voice, John's lips curled upwards as he released a tiny chuckle and shook his head before leaning and putting his arm around Alans shoulder.

"It's fine man, not everyday I get to meet someone with actual balls, and a friend's got to help a friend, free of charge." John said, his words ringing with clear amusement at the entire development yet at the same time they were firm enough to show that he wasn't joking in the slightest.

"Right, friend. Yeah, sounds great." Alan said as he gave a nod of his head.

"Well, since John's said it, guess its true, welcome to the club Alan." Adrian said whilst Jeanie who was at his side merely gave a nod.

Chapter 5 New
Saying his goodbyes, Alan turned around and walked towards the front gates of the school and headed inside, having to sometimes hold onto the wall when he tripped on what was nothing but flat ground.

Looking around, he quickly realised that there was no one, everyone was already inside the classrooms or had already left the school entirely to go outside like John and the rest who were skipping classes.

'Even if I were to head inside right now, I'll just be told to head out of the class. Won't even let me enter.' Alan thought inwardly as he released a soft sigh and headed towards the small clearing in the middle of the school where a couple benches were, it was a sort of hall where sometimes exhibitions would be held with the paintings made by the students.

Sitting down, he put his head on his hands and closed his eyes, thinking back on the morning and what had happened.

'Can't you atleast explain more on how this damn system works?' Alan thought to himself as he started saying out random phrases hoping atleast one would work.

'Guide?'

'Tutorial.'

'Begginer?'

Nothing worked, he heard and saw nothing, no matter what he said.

He even opened the status menu again just to see if it still worked and it showed up instantly.

'Right, I don't even know if others can see this? Should I open it in class and ask someone if they can see it? No, not ask if they can see it but just see if they have any reaction at all. And then I can just close it instantly once surprise shows up on their face so that I don't get caught.' Alan thought to himself as he gave a quick nod at his own idea.

'Alright, that works, now I just have to wait…'

Looking up at a clock on the wall, a shadow fell over Alan's face.

'Another thirty seven minutes.' He finished his thought with another sigh, feeling like the thousandth sigh he had given in a single day as he patted his pockets and quickly found his flip phone on his left. Taking it out, he pulled up the only way he had to pass the time.

Snake.

What started as just a game to pass the time, quickly turned into a game that was currently giving a shock to his mind.

"Why… why am i so good at this?" Alan muttered to himself, his eyes widening as his fingers kept moving quickly on the small keyboard of the flip phone.

He had already beaten his pervious record by more than three times, he was close to actually beating the game on his first try.

'It's like, I just know what move to make and my dexterity… its a lot better with my fingers.' Alan thought as he realised the change, it wasn't an insane growth instantly, no rather he realised that the stats had been a bit misguiding or at least he hadn't understood them perfectly.

'They're more similar to potential, not actual stats. Meaning I'm not the smartest man in the world or most knowledgeable because I have maximum intelligence, but I have the potential to become the smartest, it gives me an increase in everything and the talent to reach it aswell as determines my maximum potential. The difference as to why I'm not feeling instant effects like when my strength got lowered is because I had higher strength than a two before, so when the potential got capped, I reached the peak of what a two in strength could be, it was an instant debuff. Meanwhile I was a five in intelligence, so that means.. I have to grind the potential out?' Alan thought as slowly it was starting to make more sense, at this point in time, another noise was heard, it was heard directly in his brain.

Looking over the system panel that had appeared before him, Alan felt a rush of joy course through his body, finally something new had appeared, for a while since heading out of his home, he had thought that he was going to forever be stuck with just some stats and no knowledge on how to even use this damnable system.

'Those question marks… does it mean that I can potentially breakthrough my Special stat limits? Most likely, but its grayed out, meaning not right now and there are likely more requirements… what are those requirements, how do i reach them, what do i do? Tell me more you fucking piece of shit system.' Alan thought as he felt anger rush forwards once more at what he felt was a personal slight against him from the system.

Taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly, Alan once more lifted his head and looked at the clock.

'Okay, not too long now, just five more minutes and then its time to head to class, after which its time to go to the cafeteria… great, have to deal with everyone there whilst I'm looking like I can barely walk.' Alan thought before his imagination, damned it, as always instantly put up a depraved thought in his mind.

'I won't look like I've had a really rough night with some dude right? Naah… no way… no way right?'

Lifting his head once more to look at the ceiling above him now, Alan felt tears pricking at the edges of his eyes as he closed his eyes, a small smile of pain on his face.

'I hate my life.'

Chapter 6 New
The following five minutes flew by, and sooner than he realised, the time had come. A ringing sound erupted all around him as the bells signaling the end of one class hour and the start of the short between classes break rang.

Getting up onto his feet with slight difficulty, Alan started walking towards his destination, he wobbled almost the entirety of the way there however seemingly by luck, he never once fell down onto the ground or tripped too horribly.

Even as the hallways of the highschool were filled with students heading out of classrooms to walk towards their next classes, there was no one that got on his way or accidentally shoved him, it was in a way a miracle of pure luck.

'Is this my luck stat? No… maybe it does affect a part of it but… there should be limits.' Alan thought to himself with a sigh as he continued wobbling like a penguin until he reached the classroom.

Heading inside, he wobbled all the way to the end of the class, the rest of the students who had arrived before him gave him curious looks, clearly confused at why he was acting like this. Some of them knew Alan though they weren't exactly friends, and they had clearly never seen him act like this before.

One of them walked towards him as soon as Alan sat down. Arriving to stand before his desk and sitting on the edge of it was a boy with dark brown hair and eyes, his frame slightly short and chubby and a pair of obscene glasses on his face.

"Yo, what happened to you man? You look like you can barely walk." The boy asked, his voice clearly tinged with a curious undertone.

"I fell, two pairs of stairs, and now my legs feel like shit, like… i barely survived. Thank god, i didn't break anything." Alan replied, almost on reflex as the lie formed on his tongue naturally, without him even having to think.

"Oh man, that must have sucked ass, if you need anything just ask, I know we dont talk much but we still classmates and all." The boy replied as his expression turned slightly… worried.

'The fuck? Is this guy actually worried about me?' Alan thought inwardly as he felt confusion cloud his mind, why was a random guy that he had barely said more than a hello to since he had been in this classroom, actually looking worried about his condition.

'Maybe he's just a decent human being? Yeah… okay. That has to be it.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly shook his head and then turned his gaze back towards the boy once more.

"Thanks for the offer dude, but I'm fine, just a bit sore and all and some bruises, but I'll be better in a few days. No worries." Alan replied, his tone of voice friendly and even a smile naturally forming on his face without him even realising.

"Alright! See you around then." The boy replied before giving a wave and getting up from the side of the desk where he had been sitting and walking away towards his own chair.

Meanwhile the rest of the class finally started turning around as well, it seemed like they had all been curious about what had happened and now that they learned it wasn't something worth gossiping about, they had clearly lost interest though some of them still looked… to be worried.

'Ignore, ignore everyone. Just let this day pass, I can head home and then I can try figuring out what is actually going on with me, maybe I can somehow learn more about the system aswell.' Alan thought to himself before he saw the door of the classroom open and the teacher head inside.

"Alright class, today we have an exam." The man said with a large smile as soon as he walked to the teachers desk at the front of the class.

All the chatter in the classroom came to an end instantly as every single student lifted their head or turned it towards the professor almost instantly, the shock clear on their faces.

"What? Exam? What are you talking about professor?"

"Exam? Oh no… I… I haven't studied at all."

"Yeah, we fucked boys."

Different reactions went throughout the entire classroom, some filled with worry, others confused and some other already accepting their fate as they whispered to their friends next to them.

'This… might actually be worth it, I can test and see if completing exams will give me any points into intelligence.' Alan thought as he started getting ready, in comparison to the rest of the students, he remained calm, almost too calm as the student in the seat next to him actually looked confused, seeing not a single hint of panic on his face.

"Hey, you studied? Can… you help me?" The student asked as she looked at Alex with wide hopeful eyes.

Lifting his head whilst he was putting his book and notebook that he had taken out for the class back into his backpack, Alan stared at her with an utter deadpan of an expression.

"No, I didn't study. In fact, I think the chances of me getting an F, are extremely high." Alan replied, with a no nonsense voice.

His words seemed to spear right through the female students' hope, shattering it all apart as worry and what could only be called teenage despair overtook her expression once more as she turned to face the front of the class, her hand that was holding a single pen shaking.

'It's… an exam. Okay, I likely would have freaked the fuck out aswell but considering how my day has started… I really don't feel like freaking out about this shit.' Alan thought to himself as his lips twitched in self-depreciating amusement as he put his backpack away and took out a single pen, his table finally clean as was required when taking exams and then he turned to face the front as well as he waited for the exam paper.

Chapter 7 New
The exam papers were quickly spread all around the class and in less than a few minutes, every student inside the classroom had a copy of the exam paper.

Looking down at the paper in front of him, Alan started reading each question carefully before closing his eyes and lifting his head up slightly, tilted to the ceiling.

'Ah… I am… quite fucked.' Alan thought inwardly before turning his attention back once more as he grabbed a pen and started writing his name on the paper before moving on to the first question and then to the second… and then to the third and fourth and so on.

Until he suddenly found himself at the last question on the paper, whilst having written nothing at all, having answered none of the question.

'It's clear then that… my intelligence stat it… it doesn't suddenly make me a genius, it's merely… what my potential is. So I have the potential to reach a ludicrous genius level but I still have to work to get there, thats what the normal stat points are…. Okay.' Alan thought as he sighed before turning his head as he saw the rest of the students were already writing on their own papers, most of them at least seemed to know a few of the questions.

'Alright, calm down… I can still try to copy and cheat.' Alan thought as he gathered his breathing and then turned his head discreetly towards the professor and it seemed that luck did indeed favour him as he saw that the professor… was not looking in his direction at all.

Getting up slowly from his chair without making any noise, Alan quickly tried to look at the paper of the student in front of him… only to realise that he couldn't decipher the words at all as he quickly sat down.

'Fuck, fuck fuck… this fucking perception stat.' Alan cursed inwardly as he almost banged his head onto the table.

'I spent all my fucking points into stats that should be good but the investment is fucking zero, the only good one is the luck stat and this god damned exam doesn't have any options, all the questions require you to fucking write an essay.' Alan thought as he released a sigh and gave up.

Minutes quickly passed and soon enough the bell signaling the end rang, and the professor quickly told the students to raise their pens and hand the exam papers to the person Infront of them until they were all gathered at his table.

The tests were quickly gathered and soon enough the professor gave them a nod signaling that they could leave.

Getting up from his seat and quickly grabbing his backpack, Alan headed to the professor.

"Hey Professor, is it possible to like y'know get another chance after this? Maybe get questioned verbally, I don't do well with exams." Alan said as he nervously fiddled with the strap of his backpack.

"Sorry Alan right? Can't do that or I'd have to give everyone else a second chance too, don't worry though this isn't the final grade, there will be at least two more exams." The professor replied as he shook his head in a clear dismissal.

Nodding his head, Alan turned and started walking away like e penguin towards the door, releasing another deep sigh as he continued on his way.

'Charisma ten my ass.' Alan thought as he left the classroom and headed into the halls.

The next few classes passed and soon enough it was time for the lunch break, leaving his third class of the day as soon as the bell rang, Alan was instantly met with the swarm of dozens of students heading towards the cafeteria all at once. Following the horde of hormonal teens, he quickly arrived at the large cafeteria hall.

Walking inside, the room finally entered his sight. It was large, and seemed to be made of two primary sections. The first section was the part where the students were lining up to get their school lunch from the lunch lady who would gather scoops of it and hand it to the students who held lunch trays in their hands.

The second section of the room was the seating area, made of dozens of desks that were usually gathered in groups of three desks put against each other so that more students could sit together at the same time.

There weren't too many of them at least in comparison to much larger schools in other cities as Forks was quite a small town, and because of that it was even more easy to find the social groups and at what table sat who.

At the start of the room were three tables that were mainly used by the regular students who didn't particularly belong to any social group but simply shared classes. A bit farther around the middle sat who could be called the popular students, the sports kids, the cheerleaders and the likes. And finally by the end of the hall, the tables were usually empty besides one at the far back corner.

There they sat, the most famous kids in the entire town of Forks. The Cullen Family.

They weren't famous because they partook in sports, they in fact didn't and neither were they some kind of social butterflies that knew how to talk with everyone and make friends, no it was in fact the opposite. They didn't do sports, they didn't talk with anyone outside of their own family and they didn't even seem to want to. And the reason for their fame? They hadn't always lived in Forks and had transferred a while back, giving them a shroud of mystery that was only intensified by their behavior and the other perhaps more relevant reason was that they were simply…

'God damn… talk about winning the genetic lottery, I get surprised every time I see them.' Alan thought to himself as he walked towards the end of the hall, deciding that he'd rather sit alone however , before he could, he was interrupted.

Chapter 8 New
"Alan! Over here." A voice said aloud from the side.

Turning his head, an expression of confusion on his face, Alan saw who it had been that had called him over, his sight was blurry but not enough that he wouldn't recognise who it was. It was the guy from the parking lot.

'Right, he did say that he would help me find some glasses to see… he actually did it?' Alan thought as he started walking towards the table where John, Adrian and Jeanie were seated.

Arriving before the boy, Alan raised a fist for a fistbump that John quickly accepted with a fist of his own before Alan sat down at the table.

"So you got em? Really?" Alan asked as he looked at the glasses on the table.

"Yeah, got em off some random guy. Try em." John replied with a chuckle as if it was the most normal thing in the world to practically rob someone off their perscription glasses.

'Right… I almost forgot who these assholes were since they been acting good to me… hey can't see me complaining though.' Alan thought to himself as he gave a thankful nod to John before taking the glasses and putting them over his eyes.

Looking at the holographic panel that had appeared before him, Alan's eyes moved in a flurry as he quickly read it, feeling a grin about to show on his face, he quickly suppressed it though inwardly he was ecstatic.

'Great, It's not something that I can abuse for later on, though it makes sense, Prescription glasses only allow you to see normally if you have bad eyesight, they dont give regular vision people a boost. Still for my current situation… it's awesome.' Alan thought to himself as he turned and finally looked at the three 'friends' that he had made today.

"They work man, thank god seems like I got the exact same prescription as that guy you got em off." Alan says as he gazed more closely now that his vision was clearer.

John was quite tall standing at six foot one, his hair a dark brown colour and styled in a slightly messy ear length cut, his eyes were a light blue colour that almost resembled that of ice, and his body seemed quite muscular for a highschool kid that was wearing a regular black leather jacket and a pair of normal blue jeans.

Adrian meanwhile was a bit shorter, likely around five foot ten and had black hair cut in a buzzcut, his eyes a dark brown and his body similarly to John was quite muscular though nothing outstanding, he was wearing a black turtleneck sweater and black jeans.

Jeanie who was seated next to Alan was the shortest of the group, standing at five foot five with long blue hair with dark roots, clearly dyed and blue eyes, her figure was slender and she was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a oversized white hoodie.

As soon as Alan finished his observations, this taking less than a few seconds in reality, he heard another sound inside his own mind.

'Right… so a level system? But I dont have levels for myself? What? Maybe its just a general estimation of their stats and danger level?' Alan thought inwardly.

"You sure do doze off a lot huh?" Jeanie asked as she leaned on her arm that was splayed on the table, putting her head over it as she gazed at Alan.

"Ah yeah, Do that sometimes. Sorry, so what you guys doin? Or well how'd today go?" Alan asked awkwardly as he shook his head to quickly clear his mind.

'I keep getting distracted by the darned system, fuck… i must look like a complete snob.' Alan thought to himself, feeling like he had just ruined everything.

"Eh it's fine. Well we ain't do much bro, just skipped few classes, got those glasses and came here. What about you?" Adrian asked, his voice sounding clearly bored as he took out his flip phone and started texting to someone.

"Well I got shafted with a surprise exam, got completely fucked over by that one, wrote my name on it and yeah, couldn't even cheat, I got up and then realised that I could see nothing from my position and with my eyes without glasses."

John laughs as he shakes his head.

"Yeah man, fuckin same. Eh not like we give a shit though, just an exam. Grades only really matter in college anyways. Ain't no one gonna look at your Highschool grades. Just get a good score on the Sat exam." John says as he stops laughing, slowing down to just a chuckle.

'Yeah… right, grades fuckin matter you dumbass… unless your just rich enough which I dont know if they are but considering they live in a backwater town like Forks? Eh… doubtful unless your the Cullens.' Alan thought to himself inwardly whilst on the outside he gave a quick nod.

"Yeah totally bro, anyway's what do you guys usually do for fun?"

"Just goin around, smokin weed and going to Port Angeles on the fridays and weekends for the parties, you wanna come?" Jeanie asks as she leans closer towards Alan.

'Man… she's so close.' Alan thought to himself as his eyes inadvertently went towards her chest before he forced them up once more to gaze into her eyes.

"Yeah, that that's cool. Yeah, I can come." Alan says, after a momentary gulp.

Chapter 9 New
Jeanie's smile seemed to widen slightly, her lips curling further at the ends as she gave a slow nod, her eyes seeming to pierce directly into Alan's through the glasses.

'Scary…' Alan thought inwardly like a coward, a title that he had frequently given himself, usually saying that atleast cowards lived long lives.

"Yo, that's great man, there's this cool club thats hosting a crazy night this saturday over there, we can come pick you up at around five in the afternoon and head there." John says as a large grin came over his face, his eyes seeming to almost twinkle knowingly as he gazed at Jeanie and Alan.

"Right, thanks, I can just meet you downtown, my apartments close to there and you can pick me up the quickest there." Alan replies as his tried to keep his voice as steady as possible.

'I'm going to a party… me? Me! Im going to a party.' Alan thought as he grew more and more excited about the idea that he who had usually just stayed to himself, who had just been a sort of background character would be going to a party in another city with his seniors in highschool.

It was at that moment as they all heard a commotion coming from the entrance of the cafeteria.

The four of them turned their gaze, slightly confused at what was happening when they saw a girl none of them had ever seen before walking inside the Cafeteria, her steps clearly showing she felt the awkwardness as she walked inside.

She had long brown hair and pale skin, though not as pale as the Cullens, it was still one of her most defining features. Her eyes were similarly a dark brown colour.

'Who is that?' Alan thought to himself as he quickly focused and the observation skill activated once more.

[ Observation ]

[ Bella Swan ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level: 21 ]

'What? What the fuck.' Alan thought as his eyebrows rose until they were halfway across his forehead in pure shock.

'Why the hell does that awkward new girl have a level thats practically twice that of John. This makes no damn sense, she clearly doesn't practice any kind of martial arts or anything based on her body… just what? Is she just insanely intelligent?' Alan thought to himself, utterly confused as he followed the girl with his eyes.

Bella Swan was quickly ushered to a table by Jessica Stanley who waved her over to her table.

'She's with Jessica? Jessica, Mike, Eric and Angela… huh… right into one of the popular kid groups as soon as she came huh? Well… she looks decent I guess?' Alan thought to himself as he gazed at the table where she sat.

"Oh that must be Isabella Swan, Chief of police, Charlie Swan's kid. Heard she was transferring from Arizona." Jeanie says as she similarly looks at the table where the girl had sat at.

"Right… how'd you know that?" Alan asks as he turns his eyes towards the blonde haired girl at his side.

"Well Darling… there really ain't any secrets in Forks, small place and people like to gossip a lot." Jeanie replies with a slow drawl of words as she leaned closer to Alan.

'Is she hitting on me? She's totally hitting on me. That Charisma stat is working wonders!' Alan thought to himself, fighting off a smile from appearing on his face.

"Yeah, better not mess with 'er, eh?" John muttered as he crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes narrowing slightly as he gazed at the girl.

'Yeah… probably bad idea considering she's twice your fuckin level.' Alan thought to himself as he gave a nod outwardly.

"Yeah, Chief of Police's daughter, ain't really worth it." Alan replied in a mutter himself as he turned his gaze away, only for it to land at the back of the cafeteria hall where a certain table stood out.

Sitting there were the most famous students in Forks, similarly to Bella, they were students who had transferred to Forks a while back.

The Cullens.

Sitting at the far end of the table was a tall boy or rather a man, his figure was large and his body was muscular to a degree that it put both John and Adrian to shame, his hair a clear raven black that was cut short and his eyes were a unique amber colour but those were not the features that stuck out the most, instead it was his skin, he was pale, so pale that he almost looked like a marble statue instead of a person.

Seated next to him was a blonde haired girl with the same coloured eyes, and a body that clearly belonged to a supermodel and similarly, extremely pale skin.

Seated across from the two were a tall boy with wavy blonde hair and amber eyes and a similarly tall boy with dark brown hair. Both of the two shared the same skin complexion as the rest.

And finally sitting at the head of the table was a small woman with raven black hair cut in a pixie-like hairstyle, she was much smaller than the rest and unlike the others who had no real expression on their faces, the girl seemed to almost always be smiling though it was a smile that seemed to unnerve people more than it did comfort them.

There was three things this family seemed to share with one another.

'Extremely pale, extremely beautiful and weird amber eyes. How did that professor guy even manage to adopt kids that look this similar to eachother, from what I've heard none of them are related by blood besides Jasper and Rosalie Hale.' Alan thought to himself as he focused his eyes and used his observation skill.

[ Observation Skill has been used. ]

[ Observation skill level is too low and thus information gained will be lowered accordingly. ]

'What?' Alan thought in shock as he watched the holographic panels appear before him.

Chapter 10 New
Alan blinked a few times, letting the new information that was being shown sink in fully. The holographic panels from his Observation skill flickered in front of him, overlaying his perception of the Cullens' table in the cafeteria. Despite his level 1 Observation skill, the skill still showed some information, though the problem was that the information given… simply made him for confused than he had been.

[ Observation Skill Active ]

Looking at the blonde haired woman, the holographic panel giving her information showed infront of his eyes.

[ Rosalie Hale ]

[ Race: ??? ] [ Level: ??? ]

'What? What in the actual hell is this?' Alan thought as he gulped and turned his attention to the other Cullens one by one.

Towards the man next to rosalie, the tall muscular man that seemed to almost resemble a bear in size.

[ Emmet Cullen ]

[ Race: ??? ] [ Level: ??? ]

Another shiver went through Alan's body as he moved his gaze away, one after the other.

The tall blond haired boy.

[ Jasper Hale ]

[ Race: ??? ] [ Level: ??? ]

The tall brown haired guy next to him.

[ Edward Cullen ]

[ Race: ??? ] [ Level: ??? ]

And finally to the last member of the Cullens that was seated at the table, the short pixie-like girl.

[ Alice Cullen ]

[ Race: ??? ] [ Level: ??? ]

'All of them… all of them are the same… my system can't… can't even get a read on them. That… that alone gives me information in and of itself… and that information is that I should stay the fuck away from them.' Alan thought as he was about to move his gaze away from the table entirely only for Alice to turn her head slightly and gaze into his eyes and then for her lips to curl up into a smile as she gave a tiny wave with her fingers.

Instantly, sweat started to going down his back, cold sweat as he moved his gaze away instantly, Alan's breath coming out slightly choked for a moment before he gathered himself and lifted his hand to his glasses as he quickly readjusted them.

Looking at the last holographic panel, he gave an almost imperceptable nod, though it was more so to himself as he read the information.

[ Observation Skill Notice ]

[ Targets: High Potential Threat ]

[ Accuracy of Data: Limited by Skill Level ]

The cafeteria around him continued to buzz with noise, the students having already returned to chatting with each other after Bella Swan had gotten seated at the table, however Alan himself didn't speak a single word, the information that he had just gotten had completely changed his internal worldview.

'They… they could be… not humans? Or maybe they're just really high level? Wait… just think Alan, think. The levels are basically a estimation of my targets value, be that in strength or other aspects I'm not completely sure of yet but considering this system seems to follow a game-like design, it is likely threat based. But then comes the question about how Isabella Swan had a level so high in comparison to John and Adrian who are clearly more dangerous unless she has something special?' Alan thought as his gaze wandered over to the brown haired girl who was currently talking with Angela Weber.

'Right, a special ability, that could certainly be it and it's not like the supernatural is impossible, im literally interacting with a god damn videogame system in real life. But then if she does have an ability why is her level, why can i see it unlike those guys? But at the same time if i take into account the aura, the simple pressure, yeah it makes sense in a way. Maybe her ability is weaker?' Alan's thoughts continued as he tried to find a lead on what exactly was happening however he ended up with a blank, he simply didn't have enough information for him to deduct what was actually happening accurately.

'I can't say for sure that they have abilities like me or are other races or whatever with the information that I have, they might even just have some other thing that increases their level but one thing is for sure… they're all dangerous, Bella Swan included in that too.' Alan thought to himself finally before turning his attention towards the three new friends that he seemed to have made.

"She seems decent, don't really get the hype around her though."

"Yeah, just how it is though, a transfer student in the middle of the school year and someone from a place like Arizona and the Chiefs daughter at the same time? Makes sense there's a commotion, Forks ain't really got anything exciting going on." Jeanie replies as she shakes her head, amused on her own as she turns to face Alan once more.

"Right Alan, let's exchange phone numbers." Jeanie said as she moved her hand to her jeans and pulled out a small silver coloured flip phone.

"Ah yeah, sure. Uh here."

Taking out his own flip phone, Alan quickly typed in Jeanie's, Johns and Adrian's numbers before saving them whilst giving them his own phone number.

"Cool, anyways you gonna be anywhere after classes today? Wanna come over at my place, got some good stuff recently." John spoke as he put his own phone back into his pants as he looked at Alan.

"Ah, I can't got some stuff to do today but maybe tomorrow?" Alan replied as he shook his head, his expression apologetic.

"Hey, thats fine man. I'll send you my address or we can all just go there after school together tomorrow." John replied with a shake of his hand, dismissing the awkward rejection air easily.

'God… compared to looking at the Cullens, these guys almost seem like just regular kids in comparison, I was just afraid of them but now… they just seem normal, I dont know if that's even a good thing, why did the Cullen's have to exist, god why.' Alan thought to himself as he gave an outwards nod to John.

It was at that moment that the bell signaling the end of lunch rang.

Chapter 11 New
The sound of the bell signaling the end of the lunch hour rang. The students slowly starting to get up from their tables as they gathered their leftover food or any random items lying around and headed off, either throwing the food into the trash cans first before leaving or waiting for some of their friends to finish.

Alan meanwhile got up almost instantly, as he turned to his three new friends.

"Well, I'll be heading off now. Got some stuff to do. See you guys later." Alan said as he gave a quick nod of his head before turning around and starting to walk away as quickly as he could from the cafeteria, without even waiting for the three to reply.

"Huh, wonder what got into him?" Jeanie muttered to herself as she watched the quirky boy walking away quickly.

"Maybe he needs the bathroom?" John replied with a shrug of his shoulders as he got up from his chair.

Adrian merely gave a nod, probably thinking it was something similar as the three of them dismissed his behaviour as nothing much besides a bathroom run.

Meanwhile Alan was already half way down the cafeteria hall, walking directly to the exit doors when he saw some people who had somehow gotten there even before him, having gotten up from their seats somehow almost instantly as soon as the bell had rung.

'The Cullens? These guys…' Alan thought as he quickly lowered his head and tried to pass by them only for him to trip just slightly and ending up brushing hands with the smallest of the group, Alice Cullen.

The feeling on his hand, it was stone cold, like a stone that had been under the shadow during the winter for a long time with no sunlight ever hitting it. No warmth, no softness, it felt completely different from how a regular hand was supposed to feel.

Turning his head slightly, Alan saw the girl looking at him directly in the eyes, a small smile on her face that looked almost teasing, however he didnt look long as he gave a quick nod in apology.

"Sorry, tripped." Alan said as he quickly moved away and out of the cafeteria, quickly walking down the hall and disappearing from sight behind a corner.

Finally alone and by himself, he gathered his breath. His heart was almost felt like it was about to beat out of his chest, he could practically hear the loud thumping in his ears.

'That… what was that? Cold, frigid as ice and so hard. It… it most definitely didn't feel human, thats for sure.' Alan thought to himself as his thoughts went back to the brief accidental interaction before he opened his status menu.

[ Luck: 10 ]

'Luck ten my ass, what is this bullshit.' Alan thought as he almost felt like sobbing tears right then and there.

The second bell rang, signaling that classes were about to start. Realising that he had been standing in the same place just thinking about that one small interaction for a few minutes that he hadn't even noticed passing, Alan quickly turned as he started heading towards his next class.

'Please let the rest of this day pass normally.' Alan thought to himself.

The next classes passed peacefully, something Alan felt grateful for, atleast until he entered his last class of the day.

Heading inside, he headed to his seat which was unfortunately close to a certain individual that he wanted nothing to do with.

Edward Cullen.

Thankfully, the man seemed to not be looking at anyone and minding his own business.

'Atleast it's better than that Alice girl.' Alan thought to himself as he started unpacking his biology books onto the table.

At that moment, a girl headed inside the class, Alan wasn't paying much attention, his mind still focused on the system and his new observation skill, however that changed not long later, infact not even seconds later as he felt a cold prickling feeling at the base of his neck, as if all the hair follicles on his body had stood up to attention at the same time.

Slowly but carefully, he turned his gaze to the left where he was met with the sight of Bella Swan, the new transfer student standing before the empty seat next to Edward Cullen.

And Edward Cullen who had seemed to be completely normal merely a few moments earlier, now looked like he was ready to rip someones throat out.

'I hope that's just a look, god I hope that's just a look.' Alan thought before his eyes went towards Edward's eyes, Alan's own eyes widened slightly almost imperceptibly as he realised.

'They changed colour, I am most certainly sure that they were dark bronze colour, not that. They weren't pitch fucking black, humans dont have pitch black eyes.' Alan thought to himself as he quickly averted his gaze once more and turned his entire body towards the blackboard at the front of the classroom, his head stiff as he didnt move it even a slight inch towards the left or right.

'If you kill her, please just kill her after class, or in the woods, or whatever place serial killers kill people. Don't do it here. I do not want any part in any of this bullshit.' Alan thought to himself.

For the next class hours, Alan didn't move a single inch, his entire back was drenched in sweat and his hands were clammy, his eyes fixed on the blackboard though he wasn't really listening to anything that the professor said.

Finally after what felt like an entire lifetime, the bell signaling the end of the final class of the day rang. Before Alan could get up, the sound of screeching metal onto the floorboards rang out as Edward Cullen shot out of his chair and stormed out of the classroom.

'Thank you, thank you.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly got up from his own chair, feeling his legs that had already stiffened from the unmoving position that he had kept for almost an entire hour.

Chapter 12 New
Heading home, Alan continued using his Observation skill on anything and everyone that he could.

[ Potted Plant ]

[ Description: A petunia flower inside a pot. ]

[ Plant age: 6 months ]

[ Pot age: 3 Years ]

Half an hour later, he arrived at his apartment and headed inside, before closing the door and walking to his bed and laying down.

'Alright, let's… let's just get a quick recap on what happened today..' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft sigh, his body quickly feeling like deadweight as the adrenaline of the day wore off.

'I woke up and got some kind of system that fundamentally changed my life, I am also now a percentage not human but elf, the system has given me stats that it calls SPECIAL stats, those cannot be increased normally whilst the regular point stats can. Next is that certain tools can be recognised as equipment by the system and grant me stat bonuses, like the prescription glasses that grant me a plus two in Perception.' Alan thought as he lifted his right hand and grabbed the edge of the glasses and slowly brought them away from his face, almost instantly, his perception, eyesight of the surroundings grew much worse, not even just that but his overall perception of space itself seemed to lower.

Quickly putting the glasses back onto his face, Alan's mind wandered over to what was potentially an even more shocking fact than the system itself.

'After observing people during the cafeteria, i gained the 'Observation skill' which allowed me to check the statuses of other people, though the information gained is corrlaleted to my own level, my skills level and the difference between me and the observation target. Which led me to find out that either the Cullens were not Humans, or that they somehow had some kind of abilities. Bella Swan also has a weirdly high level, could it be related to her smarts or an ability? That is still a bit of an unknown but the Cullens most definitely aren't regular humans in the slightest.' Alan thought as he ran his hand through his hair, feeling the need to release another sigh of pure exhaustion.

Looking down at where his backpack was, Alan thought of starting to study however the regular act felt utterly incompatible with his current situation.

'Study? Whilst my entire life has been god damn turned upside down? Yeah, math is sooo going to help me.' Alan thought as he shook his head.

It was at that moment that he received a notification on his phone as it buzzed in his pocket.

Getting the flip phone out, he quickly turned it on and saw that it was a text message from his new friend, Jeanie.

Opening the texting app, he read it quickly.

[ Jeanie: Yo Alan, was nice meeting you today, can't wait for tomorrow. Adrian and John really got the good stuff. You back home yet? ]

Alan's fingers quickly moved over the small phone keyboard as he gave a reply.

[ Alan: Yeah, am Home. Just got back, got some stuff to do but yeah I also cant wait for tomorrow, by the way… ]

Alan started as he sent that message before thinking about it for a quick second and then deciding why the hell not.

[ Alan: Don't the Cullen's seem super weird to you? Saw Edward in my bio class and he was looking like he wanted to kill the new girl, that Bella chick. ]

[ Jeanie: Yeah, I mean everyone does. Edward is even the most normal one usually, Alice is weird as hell and not to mention Jasper, he looks like he's in constant pain or something and then there's that bitch Rosalie who looks like she thinks shes better than everyone else. ]

[ Alan: Yeah, totally. And aren't they like dating or something? ]

[ Jeanie: They are, its crazy, I mean, I get that they're like adopted but still thats so weird and like dont they actually look way too similar? My theory is that they just say that they are adopted. I mean have you seen their eyes, they're identical, so either their parents had some kind of weird fetish with amber eyed kids or they're actually blood related and this is just so fucked. ]

'That… could that be it or maybe its just a defining trait of their race? The race part is still on the air, they could just be overpowered ability human users but still… this shit is so crazy that I'm actually hoping they're just some weird incest kids. But considering the skill status… yeah fuck. Dont tell me its actually both? Both sweet home alabama but on pure supernatural hacks.' Alan thought to himself as he shivered slightly at the disgusting thought, and then he quickly typed out a response.

[ Alan: Man, don't say that shi, it's disgusting just to think about. Anyways, yeah ill be there after classes tomorrow, got some stuff to do till then, text ya later. xoxo ]
[ Jeanie: Alright, see you later Alan. xoxoxo ]

Putting his phone down, Alan laid the rest of the way down onto his bed, putting his head onto the pillow and taking off his glasses before closing his eyes.

As soon as he did, he finally felt it, his eyeballs felt warm, like he had been before a computer screen or something for hours on end, they somehow felt overused.

'Is this a side effect of the Observation skill? Could it be that it actually somehow drains my stamina or something related to my eyes? That could be something that I could test later on, maybe during the weekend or something.' Alan thought to himself before he slightly shook his head and turned onto his side.

'Thats thoughts for tomorrow, I really need some sleep right now.' Alan thought finally before he started feeling drowsy and in less than a minute, he was asleep like a log on his bed. The day having clearly taken a toll on his mind.

He hadn't even bothered to undress out of his pyjamas.

Chapter 13 New
Meanwhile on the other side of town, inside a deep green forest at the edges of Forks stood a large modern mansion. Large clean to the floor windows all around it, gray coloured stone parts integrated perfectly with wood that had a clean finish. It stood out yet at the same time, it seemed perfectly designed for the forest around it.

That however wasn't the strange part, the strangeness came from the fact that not a single sound could be heard coming from inside the house. A house which the entire Cullen family lived in, a total of seven people yet not a sound could be heard coming from inside the house. It was… unnatural to say the least.

And despite that, inside this mansion, in the large living room, all seven people were gathered, most of them seated on the leather couches.

"So, you're telling us that both of you have gotten yourself into trouble?" Carlisle Cullen, the head of the Cullen Coven said as he looked at the only two members that were standing whilst the rest were seated on the couches.

Alice Cullen and Edward Cullen. Alice merely gave a nod whilst Edward still looked as if he was constipated, the glare on his expression that he sometimes had, was intensified to levels that the other Cullen's hadn't seen in years.

"Bella Swan, the new girl, Charlie Swan's kid. She's my blood singer." Edward said in reply to his adoptive father as he started pacing around the room.

"Do you want to kill her? It would be easier to plan it and take her out than you actually going into a frenzy and causing a mess." Rosalie Hale spoke from her seated position on the left couch, one of her long legs over the other as she maintained a perfect almost inhumane posture.

"No." Esme, Alice and Carlisle spoke at the same time as they shook their heads.

"They're right, I'm not going to murder some random human. That's not us." Edward replied as he shook his head and ran a hand through his hair in pure frustration at the situation.

"We could always relocate to Alaska." Emmet, the largest Cullen of the bunch, with a built buff body that rivaled bodybuilders said aloud as an option.

"No, that can't happen either. I can't get away from Forks. Not after what I've found in here." Alice spoke at this moment as she shook her head at the option, her eyes growing slightly darker, it was clear that she wouldn't accept even the mere thought of leaving Forks.

Her words had been calm yet intense, something none of the rest expected from the usual pixie of the group who giggled more than she talked on the usual occasion.

"What you've found?" Edward asked as he turned to face his sister, an eyebrow raising on his face as he looked at her, his own problem momentarily forgotten.

"I'm not exactly sure at the current moment but I think, that I might have found my mate. It's a bit confusing, and I'm not exactly sure, But the main problem is that I can't confirm it." Alice replied as a smile split her face, her earlier intensity seemingly forgotten instantly as she almost started bouncing on her feet in excitement.

"Mate? As in… really?" Esme, the adoptive mother, a woman with long brown hair and equally pale skin as the rest of the family and those same amber eyes and a heart shaped faced said as she looked towards her adoptive daughter, her eyes seeming to shimmer with hope and pure delight.

Rosalie meanwhile instantly stood up from her seated position as her already cold expression darkened, a glare finding its way onto it instead as she gazed at Alice Cullen.

"No, forget it. We cannot risk getting found out simply because you feel something about some 'mate'." Rosalie spoke, her voice low and her words coming out with such speed that that they sounded like a hiss to regular human ears, yet ever single Cullen heard each word perfectly as if she had talked in a completely normal human speed.

Alice turned towards her sister, if the previous glare and tone had been intense, now it was almost frightening, the amber eyes darkening quickly until her iris and pupils seemed to fuse together to give the illusion of pure darkness in her eyes.

"That is not for you to decide Rosalie." Alice replied, her voice similarly low and almost gravelly in an unnatural way, the words being spit out at high speed whilst at the same time, her fingers stretched slightly as if she was preparing to claw something off with them.

"Calm down. Both of you. Sit. Now." Carlisle spoke as he rose from the armchair where he had been sitting at, his expression growing serious as he looked at his two daughters.

"First, this is Alice's decision, whether she wants to pursue him or not. That is her decision and hers alone. Just like I've never stopped any of you from pursuing your own Rosalie when it was the matter with Emmet." Carlisle said directly, his tone clearly telling everyone else in the room that he wouldn't be taking any arguments on the matter.

Rosalie however didn't seem to see it that way or care about his tone whatsoever.

"Emmet was dying, having been mauled by a bear and on the verge of death. That was a completely different situation from the one that Alice is in. If she pursues him, she will make him have to live a life as a monstrosity. Do you think that kid will want that? Being unable to even live in the sun? Being unable to eat anything besides blood? The constant hunger? The pain in your throat that you can never get rid of with animal blood?" Rosalie spoke, her voice rising higher and higher until she was practically screaming at the room.

"That… is not for you to decide Rosalie." Alice spoke as she took one step forward, her arms slightly coming up higher as she started entering a stance of pure aggression.

Chapter 14 New
Hours passed and soon enough the sun started rising once more on the town of Forks, though it could'nt be seen anywhere in the sky, almost always covered in the dark clouds that seemed to be ready to start a downpour almost at any moment, the thick fog of the morning rolling through the town and the forests around it. Whilst the chirping of the forest birds could already be heard as they woke up whilst the nocturnal animals went back to sleep.

The smell of the forest permeated the entire town and its surrounding areas, drops of morning dew falling from grass and tree leafs.

It was inside this town that in a small apartment, Alan Walker woke up slowly, groggily as he released a large yawn.

Rising up from his bed, still in his clothes from yesterday, he felt his body hurting all over from having slept in an uncomfortable position.

Looking around, all he could see was a blur of shapes, confusing going through his mind at first as he didnt realise where he was and what was happening but that was only for a moment before his mind cleared itself and he realised the actual reason as to what was happening.

'Right, I almost completely forgot that happened yesterday.' Alan thought before releasing a sigh as he slowly rose up completely and stood on his feet by the edge of the bed, having to do so carefully, he had afterall noticed that without his glasses, the combination of agility and perception made it much harder to not simply slip and fall down onto his face at any moment in time.

'But at the same time, with all the times that i slipped yesterday before I got these glasses from them… I should have alteast fallen once, but I didn't… I somehow got lucky and managed to gather my feet at the last moment. Is that an influence of the Luck stat?' Alan thought to himself as he released another sigh, his shoulders slumping for a moment before he shook his head and turned his gaze towards the bed, at the side of which he had placed his glasses yesterday.

Taking the prescription glasses into his hands and swiftly placing them over his nose, he heard a sound that seemed to come from inside his own mind.

*Ding*

[ User has Equipped Item : Prescription Glasses ]

[ Status Effect ]

[ Perception +2 ]

As soon as the notification rang in his head, he felt his vision significantly cleared, the details finally coming into his view.
'Thank god that this actually works, If it hadn't I'd be stuck without ever even knowing what I was doing.' Alan thought to himself. It was at that moment as those thoughts were passing through his mind that something else changed, a change that took him by complete surprise.

*Ding*

[ System Tutorial Day has been completed ]

[ Opening up Basic System Funcitons ]

[ System Dungeon has been opened ]

[ System Shop has been opened ]

Alan's eyes widened as he gazed at the holographic screens that appeared before him, floating in the air, his eys quickly looking over what was written on them and then further widening in pure shock.

'Tutorial day? Further options? Dungeons? Shop?' Alan thought as his mind quickly whirled into action, intaking the information quickly and working to form theories about what they were.

'Dungeon… this really is like my Life has turned into a Video game, does that mean that I will go into them and have to fight Monsters?' Alan thought as he quickly pressed the X button at the edges of the System panels, dismissing them from his view.

'Dungeon?' Alan thought in his mind and lo and behold, a new system panel appeared before him.

[ System Dungeon's ]

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 0 ]

[ ???? Dungeon ] [ Level 5 ]

[ ???? Dungeon ] [ Level 50 ]

[ ???? Dungeon ] [ Level 100 ]

….

Looking at the system panel that almost seemed to go on for forever, Alan felt both relieved and at the same time felt like the world had hit him with another never ending problem. Something that seemed to be happening a lot since yesterday.

'Alright, so the first Dungeon, is a Dummy dungeon… It'll likely be the way that i gain experience points? The further dungeons cannot even be viewed and I can't even see their names, likely until I get to the required Level. The only question now is whether I head in instantly or wait and somehow prepare? But how can I prepare for something that I dont even know… I have absolutely no clues on what could possibly be inside there, It says Dummy dungeon but… considering this is entirely supernatural, it's a damn real life Video Game system afterall…. Fuck. Fine, let's just check the System shop first and then I can have an anxiety attack about this after.' Alan thought before releasing what he felt was his hundredth sigh of the day, even though he had only woken up a few minutes ago.

'System Shop' Alan thought and instantly, the System Dungeon Holographic panel disappeared and was replaced by another one.

[ System Shop ] [ Level 1 ]

[ Equipment ]

[ Items ]

[ Potions ]

The holographic screen was rather simple, it showed the title, the level aswell as three sub categories inside of it.

'Level one, clearly its something that can be leveled up. Alright, let's just check each category one at a time' Alan thought as he lifted his hand and clicked on the first sub-category with his finger.

[ Equipments ]

[ Basic Wooden Baseball Bat ] [ Level 1 ] [ 5 Bronze Coins ]

[ Basic Leather Helmet ] [ Level 1 ] [ 5 Bronze Coins ]

[ Basic Leather Chestplate ] [ Level 1 ] [ 5 Bronze Coins ]

[ Basic Leather Leggings ] [ Level 1 ] [ 5 Bronze Coins ]

[ Basic Leather Boots ] [ Level 1 ] [ 5 Bronze Coins ]

There were only five options that were available in the store, each of them was level one and cost five bronze coins.

'Leather gear and a wooden baseball bat? Thats self explanatory but bronze coins? What are those? Its the currency but the question is how do I gain it? Likely a reward for completing a dungeon?' Alan thought as his eyes moved to the other categories in the system shop.

Chapter 15 New
Alans eyes wandered to the next sub-category of the system shop, his index finger moving as he clicked on it.

[ Items ]

[ Basic Water bottle ] [ 1 Bronze Coin ]

[ Basic Nutritional Bar ] [ 1 Bronze Coin ]

[ Basic Bar of Soap ] [ 1 Bronze Coin ]

[ Basic Toothpaste ] [ 1 Bronze Coin ]

[ Basic Toothbrush ] [ 1 Bronze Coin ]

Looking over at the options, the curiosity in Alan's eyes faded faster than ever before, as a look of pure 'Is this bullshit real?' overtook his expression.

'These Bronze coins better not be hard to obtain because this is fuckin bullshit, what the fuck do i need to use system coins for basic items like these, I'm not rich in the real world but even I have enough money to buy a damned water bottle. Fuck, and I was so god damned excited about this shit too.' Alan thought as he ran a hand through his hair before fixing his glasses positions on his nose quickly and pressing the other category button, not wanting to see the current interface for even a second longer.

Looking over at the list of potions that appeared in-front of him, Alan felt a headache pass through his head instantly.

'One fucking percent, they cost twice as much as the god darned equipment which actually seemed useful and they have one percent effects, what the hell am i supposed to do with one percent? If i get a scratch on my pinky finger and want to heal it? What the fuck.' Alan thought as he lifted his hands to his hair and felt like pulling it out right then and there before deciding otherwise as he turned his head away and quickly swung his arm around infront of him to dismiss the system panels.

From the outside it looked as if he had gone insane and was swinging at the air infront of him when nothing was there to begin with.

At that moment, outside his window, on a tree on the other side of the road, a certain Pixie haired vampire shook her head in pure confusion as she turned and jumped away, moving at blurring speeds.

'Is… Is my mate mentally Ill?' Alice thought to herself as she vanished under the cover of the trees, heading back to her home mansion in the woods.

Meanwhile Alan having finally gotten over what was an almost complete mental breakdown from the anger, sat back down onto his bed, his mind already turning back towards the only exciting bit of news that he had received today.

'The system shop is mostly fucking uselss but atleast, atleast I still have the dungeon that I can check out. Before I go though… lets try something out.' Alan thought as he almost instantly got back up as soon as he had sat down onto his bed, it felt like he had ADHD however it was simply that his life was experiencing so many new things that he felt like he didnt have enough bodies to deal with everything, just yesterday he had spent so much time barely coming to terms with the fact that he wasn't even fully human and then he had been met with what he suspected were other supernatural creatures and then as soon as he had woken up the next day, he was met with even more crazy supernatural bullshit from this video game system that had taken over his life.

'Allright then, let's see if this works.' Alan thought as he walked to the small kitchen inside his apartment though it could barely be called that, there was only a small drawer, a sink and a broken down microwave. Opening the drawer where the utensils were, he took out a bread knife that was almost fully rusted over into his hand.

'Equip?' Alan thought hesitantly unsure whether this would actually work or not, thankfully it seemed that luck was finally on his side after so many hits to what he felt was his blind spot for the last two days.

[ Weapon has been Equipped on Weapon Slot ]

'Equipment Tab' Alan thought instantly in excitement as a new holographic panel appeared before him, floating in the air.

[ Equipment ]

[ Armor ] [ None ]

[ Weapons ] [ Broken Rusted Bread Knife ] [ ATK +2 ]

[ Broken Rusted Bread Knife ]

[ A chipped and rusted over Bread knife, it gives a measly plus two attack to the User, It is so close to being useless that it is only slightly better than a random stick found on the road. ]

[ Accessories ]

[ Head Slot ] [ Prescription Glasses ] [ Perception Stat +2 ]

[ Prescription Glasses ]

[ Give's the User a +2 Perception Stat Boost if the User's Perception Stat is Lower than 5. It Cannot raise the Perception Stat Higher than 5. ]

As Alan read over the description of his very first weapon, a shadow covered over his expression, his lips and eyebrows twitching as a vein throbbed in his forehead.

Chapter 16 New
'Haaahh…. Two attack… just slightly better than a random stick found in the road… and what even is the ATK? How do I find out what my current attack is with just my bare hands? How do I see my opponents' health pool for it to even matter, how does defense affect it? So many questions and yet so few answers.' Alan thought, his expression clearly showing his annoyance, before he dismissed the equipment status screen and opened up the screen that he had the most questions for and was at the same time most excited to find out about.

'System Dungeon, ' Alan thought, and instantly the system holographic blue screen appeared before him.

Before doing anything else, however, Alan took out his flip phone from his pocket and flipped it on, checking the time.

[ 6:16 AM ]

'Alright, I have some time before classes start.' Alan thought to himself before flipping the phone closed and pocketing it, before turning his gaze to the dungeon menu.

[ System Dungeons ]

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 1 ] [ Enter ]

[ ???? Dungeon ] [ Level 5 ]

[ ???? Dungeon ] [ Level 50 ]

[ ???? Dungeon ] [ Level 100 ]

...

Lifting his arm, he quickly moved his hand and pressed the Enter button with his index finger. At that moment, as soon as his finger touched it, a ding like a notification sound rang inside his mind, one he was at least somewhat expecting. What he didn't expect was for his vision to quickly start turning dark from the edges of it and towards the center.

The objects at the edges of his vision blurring further and further and then starting to darken and not long after, his entire vision had turned to pitch black, before his sense of smell seemed to vanish at the same time as his vision, his hearing, his touch, his smell, even gravity itself seemed to vanish, as he felt like he was in some kind of weightless expanse without any feeling, not even the feeling of his own body. Before anxiety and panic could hit him, however, it all changed.

In the very next moment, sight, smell, sound, touch, and weight returned to the world. And before him, it wasn't his room anymore, it wasn't his apartment.

Instead Alan found himself in a large or atleast what seemed endless hilly grass plain, the sky was a dark purple, clearly different from the usual sky he knew in the real world, meanwhile the grass itself thankfully was green, however it was so perfect that It couldn't have been natural, there was not a single weed, not a single patch of grass that was discoloured, it was utterly perfect.

And all around this endless grassy plain, stood countless, if not an infinite amount of wooden straw dummies, they were made simply, and contrasted a lot with the perfect grassy plain and the supernatural purple cloudless sky.

Another fact that he only realised a moment later was the fact that, despite being able to see everything, despite the lighting being perfect, there was no Sun in the sky, yet it was bright as day in the grassy plains.

'What... what the fuck is this place?' Alan thought to himself as he felt a shiver go through his entire body, the entire thing felt unnerving and utterly unnatural, there wasn't a single monster that was moving in sight, yet Alan almost felt stiff from fear.

The dummies were made simply: a simple, large wooden stick that was thrust into the ground, a chest plate made of straw, and a pair of hands on its sides that were similarly made of yellow straw and placed upon another stick that had been attached to the first one horizontally and then tied up with what looked like grassy yellow rope.

As for its head? It was similarly made of straw, with no facial features on it.

It was overall... normal, it looked completely normal.

However, what unnerved Alan wasn't that, It was the fact that somehow, every single one of the straw dummies looked exactly the same, every single last one of them looked exactly the same, not a single piece of straw was different.

This, combined with the overall environment of the dungeon, made it appear almost like a scene from a nightmare or some kind of low-budget horror film.

'Alright... Observe' Alan thought as his gaze focused on the closest straw dummy that was only a dozen meters away from his current position.

[ Observe Skill has been used successfully]

[ Basic Straw Dummy ] [ Level 0 ]

[ Base Health Points: 100 ]

[ Base Defense Points: 0 ]

[ Base Attack Points: 0 ]

Seeing the observe skill results, a soft sigh escaped Alan, at least until now, the straw dummies appeared to be just that, dummies, and utterly harmless.

Gathering his courage with a deep breath, Alan walked towards the dummy that he had observed and then moved his gaze to his hand. Thankfully, it seemed that the rusted bread knife that he had held in his hand had come over with him, as his gaze moved to his hand, he also noticed something else.

He was naked, completely and utterly naked.

His eyes widened as he looked at his body, and it was true, he didn't have a single piece of clothing on him.

The only things that had come over with him in the Dungeon had been the Perscription glasses and the Rusted Bread Knife.

'So I can only bring over system-accepted equipment to the dungeon. Damned.' Alan thought as he felt self-conscious about his own naked appearance as his head quickly swerved right and left, though he didn't find anything besides the grass and the dummies.

'Thank god that no one's around.' Alan thought with a shiver at the social fallout that would happen if anyone had seen him.

Turning his gaze back towards the Straw dummy, Alan raised his hand holding the rusted knife and slashed downwards.

Chapter 17 New
Turning his gaze back towards the Straw dummy, Alan raised his hand holding the rusted knife and slashed downwards, the knife going through the straw chestplate of the dummy.

*Shkkrk*

A ripping sound rang out as a few pairs of straws were cut in half, or rather ripped in half as the knife edge was so blunt that it couldn't even slice through properly.

Taking a step back and looking at the dummy, Alan released a soft sigh as he put his hands on his hips and took a breath, as he gazed at the dummy, the amount of visible damage that he had done to the dummy was miniscule, barely a scratch.

'Observe' Alan thought as he gazed at the Straw Dummy.

[ Straw Dummy ] [ Level 0 ]

[ Health Points : 97 ]

'I did three points of damage… and the rusted knife gives me a plus two attack, so without it, I'd do one point of damage. This… is such bullshit, so i need to hit it atleast thirty four times to defeat a single one of these things.' Alan thought before taking one last deep breath and moving closer as he attacked the Straw dummy.

Downward slash, Upward Slash.

Horizontal slash, Diagonal Slash.

'This… is quite fun.' Alan thought to himself as a small smile broke through his deadpan of an expression.

Barely a minute later…

[ Straw Dummy ] [ Level 0 ]

[ Health Points : 34 ]

Looking at the Straw Dummy infront of him that looked mostly destroyed yet still standing, Alan felt like hitting himself in the head.

'Fun? Fun my fucking ass, it's boring as fuck and I can't even listen do music, and I'm naked and sweating and ugh… fuck. Not to mention the fact that I can't just swing randomly, I actually have to give it my all and properly slash at it otherwise I do less than three points of damage or I do no damage at all.' Alan thought as he gathered his breath and lifted his hand holding the knife once more and got back to work.

One minute later and exactly 11 strikes after, the dummy looked like it was barely standing, its arms had fallen off, and so had its head, the sticks holding it up had somehow deteriorated almost entirely, there was only a few straws tied around the main wooden stick that was stuck on the ground and even that stick was now tilted sideways and barely standing.

[ Straw Dummy ]

[ Health Points: 1 ]

'Alright, let's just get this over with.' Alan thought, he was sweating all over, and his arm that held the knife was utterly tired, he had tried switching to his other arm however since his left arm wasn't his main one, the attack had lowered down to zero points of damage, thus he had to return to using his dominant arm once more.

'Let's just get this over with.' Alan thought before releasing a tired sigh and lifting his arm and bringing the knife almost behind his head in the air and then swinging downwards with all his strength.

As soon as the last point of health was gone from the dummy and the last strike had landed, the entire dummy had collapsed to the ground, before the stick and the straws that had fallen to the ground around it started glowing and dissolving into small motes of white light, and in less than ten seconds, the entire thing was gone, as if it had never been there.

'Exp? Yes, fucking finally, I finally have a way to actually grow stronger, I know a way, I know how i can progress.' Alan thought as pure excitement and dopamine coursed through his system, his body that had been worked and tired finally almost gave up as relief hit his sistem and he fell onto his butt on the grassy plain, his hands at his sides on the ground as he looked up at the sky and closed his eyes, giving a relieved sigh as he just took in what felt like his very first actual accomplishment since he had gained this life changing system yesterday.

After a few moments of basking in the emotions, he lowered his head once more.

'Status?' Alan thought as he guessed that would be where he would find his spoils of his hard won battle against the level zero straw dummy.

'Alright, okay, Just one more, one more dummy and I'll be able to level up and then I can check out what I gain from levling up.' Alan thought as he used his hands for balance as he slowly got up from his sitting position and stood up once more before turning slightly as his eyes fell onto the next closest Straw Dummy, before they moved around as he gazed at the hundreds if not thousands of other Dummies all around him that covered the Grassy Plain.

'God… there's no end to them is there… really infinite, I guess I can't expect anything else from a system like this.' Alan thought with a sigh as he started walking towards his target, lifting his hand to his head and he cleared the sweat off his forehead and neck with the back of his hand and then gripped the rusted knife tighter and swung once more.

'So this is what it meant… I gain normal status points each time that I level up, I can also gain these points simply by doing something with that Stat, for example learning from books for intelligence or talking with people for Charisma, when a stat reaches the maximum amount of normal status points, it can be awakened by leveling up once more. Thankfully… It seems that the way to awaken the Special stats is easier than I thought.' Alan thought to himself with a sigh of relief as he sat back down onto the grass.

The second Straw Dummy had taken a lot longer to defeat than the first one, he had already been tired from the first one and the second one had taken an even larger toll on his body, His endurance stat was alright, above average even however his strength stat had been at an abysmal two, it had taken all his concentration and strength gathered to swing hard enough that he could actually do the full three points of damage to the Straw Dummy.

Gathering his breath for a few moments, Alan got up once more and headed towards a different Straw Dummy that was closeby, the one he had defeated had already vanished and turned into small motes of light that had quickly disappeared.

Holding the small rusted bread knife in his hand tightly, Alan quickly raised it above his head and used his entire body as he swung down. Afterwards, he quickly used his 'Observe Skill' onto the target.

[ Straw Dummy ] [ Level 0 ]

[ Health Points: 96/100 ]

'Four… I increased my base damage by one, It's not a lot, but It's also pretty damn good, if we take it that a single point increase in Special strength stat increased it by one, does that mean that each point in there would increase it by one and that with ten points in special, I'd do 11 damage? No, then the normal stat points wouldnt be worth anything, And I just reached three points in special, and its normal points in it are completely zero at the moment… what would be a good investment at this point for my normal stats?' Alan thought to himself as he tried to form a plan on how to spent the points that he had gained.

'Clearly, I shouldn't Invest much points into my physical stat points at the moment, I can likely gain them if I simply train my body and start eating better food, something that I can do by simply grinding this dungeon for exp aswell as money that I can use for that nutritional bar, I'll have to check just exactly what that is but if it gives me everything I need, protein wise and everything else… then I should start using this to increase my normal strength stat. If i take it like that then what would be the hardest stat for me to raise currently?' Alan thought as he lifted his hand and gripped his own chin in thought before sitting down right before the Straw dummy and placing the rusted bread knife onto the ground.

'Strength, Endurance and Agility are out for now, my body isnt that well developed and thus I'm guessing those will see the quickest progress out of the bunch. Then that leaves me with Charisma, Perception and Luck.' Alan thought as his mind went back to his three last stats.

At that moment however, he quickly realised something that he had ignored in his haste.

'The cullens… are a thing, and at the moment, my Luck stat aswell as Intelligence are fine, my biggest weakness is my strength and perception, Luck would take a large amount of Points and levels to even get to max, if i gain twenty points for each level than it would take me atleast twenty five levels to max it whilst it would take me less than ten levels to reach the max in strength and upgrade it. And right now, I need to grow as strong as fast as possible whilst at the same time upgrading my strength more quickly would mean that my exp generation woulds similarly increase. Perception is fine for now but will have to be improved right after Strength reaches atleast a baseline of five.' Alan thought before nodding to himself, as he opened the status menu and dumbed all twenty normal stat points into the Strength Stat.

Chapter 19 New
Getting up from his seated position on the ground, his stamina already regenerated from having leveled up, Alan released a sigh though for the first time in the last two days, he had a genuine excited smile on his face as he bent down and picked up the rusted bread knife and headed towards a Straw Dummy and stood before it.

Taking one foot and placing it behind him and planting his feet securely onto the ground, Alan took a deep breath as he concentrated onto the target before him.

"Haaah!!"

Releasing a shout, he jumped as he used his entire body as well as he could, trying to transfer the entire motion and kinetic energy onto the blade of the knife as he slashed downwards.

[ Ding! ]

[ Critical Hit! ]

[ Straw Dummy ] [ Level 0 ]

[ Health Points: 92/100 ]

Looking at the holographic screen infront of him, Alan have a nod to himself, his theory had been correct.

If he used his entire body and struck towards a weak spot in the target, a critical hit would indeed happed, just like in videogames.

'Double damage, I jumped and used my entire body and then struck at the weak point which for the Straw Dummies was the rope tied around the two sticks that are covered in Straw.' Alan thought before opening the System Dungeon interface once more.

[ System Dungeons ]

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 1 ] [ Leave? ]

Lifting his hand and swiftly pressing the leave button with his index finger, Alan felt his senses start dulling once more, just like he had experienced when he had been transferred to the Dungeon the first time.

After a brief moment where he was left with no senses or feelings in his body at all, He once more regained them as the darkness receded and his senses returned swiftly one after the other. First sight, and then hearing, smell and touch and finally his body stopped feeling as if it was floating in space.

Looking around, he found out that he was in the exact same position that he had been in before entering the dungeon.

Looking down at his own body, he realised that he was fully clothed once more, the rusted blade still in his grip from when he had been in the dungeon. Sliding his hand into his right pants pocket, he quickly took out his flip phone and flipped it open and checked the time.

[ 6:52 AM ]

'Around half an hour spent inside there, I thought I did it pretty quickly… did time pass just slightly faster in that dimension or maybe I was just too focused on defeating the Dummies that I didn't even notice the passage of time? Either way, It's not too late so It's allright.' Alan thought to himself as he turned and headed towards his apartment's bathroom, quickly removing the current set of clothes and entering the shower.

A few minutes later, after having showered, brushed his teeth and completed his daily routine, Alan headed back into his room and took another pair of faded blue jeans, a dark brown turtleneck sweater and a black leather jacket that had most certainly seen better days and a pair of regular used shoes that he had bought from a second hand store, he didn't even know the brand they were from however he wasn't one to be picky about it considering his own living situation.

'I wonder though, Maybe later on I'll be able to actually buy clothes that are comfortable from the System Shop? Or honestly I'd have appreciated if there was a way to turn the Bronze Coins into actual real life money, that would be for the best, but I didn't see any options for conversion in the shop, maybe It could be an option after I level it up?' Alan thought as he wondered about a future where he could finally dress himself in new clothes that actually fit him perfectly instead of having to wear used clothes that he had barely maintained for years at this point. It had been even harder when he was younger, his body growing and thus he had to replace his clothes much more often than he had to now.

"Alright, I can do this. I have a way to grow stronger, I have a way to actually use the system, I know what I'm going to do. Now I just need to keep going and I'll be fine." Alan said outloud to himself as he slapped his own cheeks and shook his head slightly to get his mind back into the game as he leaned down and grabbed the strap of his backpack and lifted it up and slung it over one shoulder.

With strength reaching a base stat of three, he actually felt much better, his strength stat was still a weakness compared to his other stats however It was still much better. If before at two strength stat he had been similar to someone with a sickness, at three, he was like a regular person with bad genetics who had never gone to the gym. He was able to do daily tasks well enough though he wouldn't be able to lift anything that was remotely heavy for even a short duration of time.

'The baseball bat… That might actually not be a good deal, considering my strength, It could be too heavy for me to swing, but at the same time, its a wooden bat so maybe its lighter than a metallic one?' Alan thought to himself as he swung his backpack slightly forward and unzipped one of the pockets before placing the rusted bread knife inside and zipping the pocket back up before sliding his other arm into the backpack strap and turning his body towards the front door and starting to walk, finally heading towards Forks Highschool, his second day of highschool whilst being a system holder. Though in Comparison to yesterday, he felt much more in control of his own life than he had.

Chapter 20 New
Around half an hour later, Alan arrived infront of Forks Highschool, classes started at eight in the morning, It was currently a quarter after seven, he had another fourty five minutes before classes would start.

Walking into the parking lot, he noticed that atleast half the student body had already arrived, looking around he quickly found the people that he was looking for.

Adrian, John and Jeannie were sitting by a beat up toyota, Jeannie sitting on the hood whilst the two boys were leaning against it.

Walking towards them, Alan raised his hand as he gave a wave.

"Yo, good mornin guys." Alan said in a friendly voice as he approrached them, catching their attention as the three's gazes turned towards him from their phones.

"Yo Alan, mornin bro." Adrian said with a nod of his head, John similarly followed with his own greeting meanwhile Jeannie dropped down from the hood and walked directly towards him, extending her arms as she gave Alan a quick hug that seemed to last a moment longer than necessary.

"You look better than yesterday, you really were having a shitty day huh? Did you finish whatever work you had? You ready to come over tonight?" Jeannie said, her voice clearly excited as she talked to Alan, meanwhile Adrian and John exchanged a look with a glint in their eyes before they both turned and gave teasing smiles towards Alan.

Alan raised an eyebrow towards them as he almost felt the need to sigh at what was happening.

It was at that moment however as he was settling in the group and asking them about their own day, that a sound rang out in the parking lot as two cars drove inside towards a parking space, a silver volvo and a red jeep, both cars were clearly new, in mint condition and shining, a completely difference from the used and beat up cars that most students attending Forks Highschool had.

'That's them… the cullens.' Alan thought before he focused his gaze, now that he had reached a base level of five in his perception whilst using his prescription glasses, he didn't have any problems observing them from the other side of the parking lot.

'Observe' Alan thought as he gazed at the first Cullen that came out of one of the cars.

[ Observe Skill has been used ]

[ Name: Emmet Cullen ]

[ Race: ??? ]

[ Age: ??? ]

[ Level: ??? ]

'I guess even now there isn't any difference, my skill hasn't leveled up at all and I've only just become level two… I dont know what I was even expecting.' Alan thought as he released an exasperated sigh and turned back towards his own group of new friends.

"You jealous? I mean, who isn't damn rich snobs with their parents money." John said with a tsking sound as he took out a cigarette pack from his pocket and took one out before offering one to each of the group.

Taking a cigarette into his hand and then placing it on his lips, Alan gave a shrug.

"I guess, but what can you do. Life always was unfair wasn't it? We gotta work all our lives and we likely wont get that rich, whilst they're just born into that shit." Alan said in turn.

As the conversation continued between them, on the other side of the parking lot, the Cullens had already gotten out of their cars and were now standing around eachother.

Edward Cullen wasn't with them, having not come to school at all.

Emmet leaned against his Jeep as he looked at his step siblings.

"Did Edward really have to leave?" He asked the group with a raised eyebrow.

"He did, he would've caused trouble, there's no saying that he would be able to control himself around his blood singer. We already have a hard time sometimes with regular humans when they bleed, if Bella Swan somehow got injured even slightly, It would have sent him into a blood frenzy, killing dozens of humans and completley blowing our cover." Jasper replied, his voice soft as always and with a southern drawl accent.

It was at that moment that Alice Cullen's head perked up as she nodded at Jasper's words.

"Jasper's right, and I also really wouldn't want that guy anywhere near my mate when his blood singer is in the same school, they even have the same biology class." Alice spoke, her voice serious yet at the same time, maintaining that high pitch and giddyness that she couldn't quite hide.

As they were speaking amongst eachother about Edward, Alice's head swerved towards the other side of the parking lot where Alan Walker was currently smoking a cigarette with his group.

Her supernatural hearing having caught every detail of their conversation.

"He's jealous? I mean, I did see his apartment this morning… maybe I should gift him a porsche." Alice said, mostly mumbling to herself, though her words instantly made the rest of the group's eyes widen as they stared at her.

"Absolutely not, you are not spending our money on him, he doesn't even know you yet, what are you going to say? Oh hey Alan, I know we have never talked to eachother before but I overheard you complaining from the other fucking side of the parking lot and decided that I would give you a free super car." Rosalie said, her voice frigid cold, an expression of pure disbelief and annoyance on her face.

"Ehe… maybe you're right. I guess I'll just have to wait for a while longer, It's fine, soon enough, He'll be mine and everything will be perfect." Alice said as a dreamy expression appeared on her face for a brief moment before she calmed it down, replacing it with a small smile.

'She…. she's obsessed.' Jasper and Rosalie Hale aswell as Emmet Cullen thought as they stared at their own adopted sister as she watched the boy from across the parking lot, her pupils fixated on him.

Chapter 21 New
'She…. she's obsessed.' Jasper and Rosalie Hale aswell as Emmet Cullen thought as they stared at their own adopted sister as she watched the boy from across the parking lot, her pupils fixated on him.

Alan meanwhile remained completely oblivious to the fact that the Cullen's and Hale's had been talking or even turned their attention towards him as he continued talking to the group whilst at the same time, he made sure to keep using his observe skill on every single student that came through the gates with their cars and parked in the parking lot of the highschool.

'Have to make sure to keep leveling that up.' Alan thought to himself before his attention was grabbed by a loud cranking noise, it was clearly the sound of a car, more precisely the sound of a old truck exhaust.

The sound was so loud that every single person in the parking lot turned to look at what was happening though they weren't exactly as surprised as yesterday morning afterall they already knew a student who drove that kind of car.

It was the new transfer student from yesterday, Bella Swan, the only daughter of Charlie Swan, the chief of police for the Forks Region.

"That… it's still surprising even though I saw it yesterday, I mean that Bella chick really doesnt look like she would be driving a old chevy like that." John muttered almost to himself yet it was clear that he was making talk with the group as he had raised his voice slightly.

Something that Alan had noticed ever since yesterday was the fact that he could understand social clues much more easily, at first he hadn't however the more he had talked with the group, the more he felt like he understood them, something he hadn't felt before in his entire life.

'Could it be possible because of Charisma? It's not just that people like me more but also the fact that I learn to empathise and relate to them aswell as learn their mannerisms more easily than before?' Alan thought as he gave a soft hum in agreement to John's statement.

Finally the Old chevy truck parked itself, it was parked somewhat close to where Alan's group was, more precisely it was inbetween Alan's group and the Cullens.

With a loud clanging sound, the door of the driver side of the truck was pushed open and out came Bella with her long brown hair and extremely pale skin, with equally striking brown eyes.

As soon as she took a single step out of the truck however, her entire body seemed to sway as she almost slipped and fell, barely managing to hold upright by grabbing the truck door with both of her hands.

'She's… clumsy…. Extremely clumsy… somewhat reminds me of myself yesterday morning.' Alan thought as he almost felt like chuckling outloud before stopping himself, though the corners of his lips had most definitely raised unconsciously in amusement.

Bella Swan turned right and left before she finally located the Cullens who were currently talking with eachother and not looking at anyone else, her eyes tracked through each of them before narrowing as she realised someone was missing.

The missing person was the very same one that had given Bella a death glare throughout the entire biology class period yesterday, she had managed to gather her courage since yesterday to finally confront the boy however now as she looked, she realised that he wasn't even here to begin with.

'Why do you look annoyed that he isn't here? Are you fucking crazy? I mean you're high level for a human so maybe you know something? But I am more than one hundred percent sure that those guys are stronger than you and Edward looked as if he wanted to rip your throat out yesterday and now you come here and start looking towards their group instantly to find him? You even look disappointed that he isnt there? Who the fuck is this crazy bitch? Maybe she doesn't know?' Alan thought to himself as he shook his head.

At that moment, the bell rang with a loud ringing sound that echoed through the parking lot, ending the student conversations for a brief moment before they all turned to head towards the front doors of the highschool.

Turning towards his group, Alan opened his mouth as he spoke quickly.

"Well seems like classes are starting, I'll be headin to class, see you guys in the cafeteria? Maybe we can even skip the classes after it and directly head out?"

"Sure, see ya Alan." Adrian and John replied with a nod of their own heads though they didn't even bother moving towards the front doors.

Jeannie who quickly realised that Alan was getting slightly confused released a soft giggle as she looked at the boy who she had quickly grown to like, almost too quickly however she wasn't one to question such things. She was more of the type to simply roll with whatever came before her, if she liked someone than she did and there was no need to overthink it.

"We really don't wanna attend our first class, We share the same one and its Calculus, which like no thank you, I'd rather watch paint dry y'know?" Jeannie said as she chuckled.

Alan who had been listened finally changed his expression to one of complete understanding, instantly feeling like everything made complete sense once more.

"I see, that is valid, completely and utterly valid." Alan replied with a completely serious tone of voice before chuckling, unable to keep up the serious facade as he waved at them dissmisively and started walking away towards the front doors.

Meanwhile on the other side of the parking lot.

'Who the hell is that bitch getting close to him?' Alice thought to herself before se quickly caught her thoughts, thoughts that were surprising even to herself, she usually wasn't so aggressive and yet the past two days had been a complete shock to even herself.

'Is this how Emmet and Rosalie feel?' Alice thought.

Chapter 22 New
Heading inside his class, Alan's mind was somewhere else completely, he was still stuck inside the dungeons, his mind on the exp, the bronze coins and the drops, it was the only thing that kept reappearing into his mind almost constantly even when he tried to think about something else or focus on his work that the teacher was giving out for the class, he would focus on it for a few moments before his mind wandered once more.

He felt as though he was some kind of autistic kid with his entire focus being placed on one singular thing and everything else didn't seem to even matter anymore.

'Can I find some way to make it that I don't have to go with the guys? I really don't care about being with the cool kids or smoking weed at the moment… I just want to grind.' Alan thought to himself as he placed his head on his arm as he laid his upper body onto his class desk, his eyes wandering out of the window to his left as he looked at the dark clouds in the sky.

Forks was in one sense of the word, depressing, nothing new actually happened and it was all of the same people that had grown here together for years, they had all known eachother since childhood, from kindergarten all the way up to highschool and they would likely remain here for years to come, for some until their deaths.

Alan had always struggled with this fact, he had always felt like his life was being wasted and yet he never had the chance or options that would allow him to change it. Atleast until now.

And since yesterday, Forks had turned from this dark depressing normal town in the middle of nowhere to a completely different town that he almost felt like he didn't recognise anymore.

A supernatural system, people that seemed to be completely unnatural by every sense of the world, even his system which in an of itself was the peak of being unnatural couldn't give him details about them. And then there was the dungeon that he had gone inside of, the fact that his very being had been changed from a human to something that was supposed to merely be fictional stories.

Hours passed slowly, to Alan it almost felt like the seconds had turned into minutes and the minutes into hours, it was almost an unbearable crawl of time, whilst his time inside the dungeon had seemed to pass almost in a blink from how immersed he had been.

Video Games were created with a singular purpose afterall, to be fun and even frankly addictive and now that his life had turned into one, the regular aspects of his life that he had just found normal had turned into almost misery that he had to get through.

Finally after the first classes of the day passed, the bell rang and the time for lunch arrived as Alan got up from his seat in the classroom, took his books with him and headed to his locker as he quickly placed his books inside the backpack that he had left there and then headed towards the cafeteria.

Arriving there, he greeted his new friends and sat down with them.

"So, y'know how we mentioned we got some of the good shit yesterday?" John said as he looked at Alan whilst he was leaning back on his chair.

"Yeah? Did you try it out already?" Alan asked half curious but at the same time not really committed to the conversation, though that was about to change, and it was about to change rather quickly.

"Hell yeah we did, bro it was nuts, I swear I was seeing crazy shit, It was almost like I could see the future, I swear that i was like predicting what was happening a few seconds into the future." John said whilst Adrian enthusiastically nodded with him.

"Yeah, was pretty crazy, I was like throwing rocks at him and he was dodging every single one of them easily and I was even using my full strength." Adrian spoke as he made movements with his hands, imitaitng a shooting motion.

Jeannie meanwhile who had been painting her nails on the table lifted her head as she gave a nod.

"Yeah, It was pretty crazy, feels like we got super powers for a few moments, ofcourse its probably just like weed makin us see shit but it felt like it, so it's definetly some hard stuff." Jeannie said, her voice slightly low as she leaned her body closer to Alan.

"So, you got like a good resistance or you a light weight?" Jeannie asked curiously as she looked at Alan.

"Im like medium, I dont get knocked out with a single hit but I also feel it, definitely." Alan replied though his minds was already a whirlwind.

If it had been merely three days ago? He would have dismissed their case as just imagination or hallucinations from the drugs, but now that he knew that the world around him wasn't exactly normal? That changed everything entirely.

'I thought that I would need to find some kind of excuse so that I can get out of going with them… but maybe I dont actually need to. If those drugs are actually special and do give a boost to reaction speed or slight precognition powers? That could be useful… really useful for later dungeons which are more than likely to actually have enemies that will want to attack me.' Alan thought to himself as he leaned slightly closer towards the group, his interest clearly peaked.

"So you still got more of that stuff right?" Alan asked with a slight smile on his face as his eyes almost seemed to twinkle.

Meanwhile on the other side of the cafeteria, at the Cullens table, a certain Alice Cullen was holding her head in her hands.

'My soul mate… is a druggie…. Lord save me.'

Chapter 23 New
'Observe' Alan thought inside his mind as he looked at the three friends.

A moment later a blue holographic panel appeared before him, though much to his distaste it didn't show anything different, there was no information regarding their status condition or anything supernatural happening to them.

'Maybe If i reach a higher level or upgrade my 'Observe' Skill, then I'll be able to check out someones status condition aswell as history and more details regarding them?' Alan thought to himself.

"Ofcourse we got more, thank god that we got quite a bit during this term, my dealer told me that it was some of the best shit that he's ever had." Adrian said in reply to Alan's question.

"Damn good, where'd you even find a dealer though, Havn't heard of anyone around here doin stuff like that, what with all of us knowing eachother in Forks, I'd assumed that they'd be found out pretty damn quickly." Alan said, his tone clearly showing his curiosity as he turned to directly face Adrian who was seated directly on the other side of the cafeteria table from him.

"Port Angeles." Jeannie said as she interjected into the conversation, catching Alan's attention.

"PA? Yeah, guess that makes sense with it being a much larger city than Forks, you found em at some random bar during the night?" Alan asked with a chuckle, going directly for the most stereotypical question.

"Yeah. Basically." John replied with a shrug of his shoulders.

'What? Really? I thought it would be harder, this is exactly like in the movies.' Alan thought, slightly shocked at having been right, though he guessed that movies did take inspiration from real life and sometimes stereotypes did have a part of truth in them.

"So yall going to be stayin for the afternoon classes or we just ditchin right now? Because I really dont wanna do Biology today. That shit is borin as all hell and the professor is doing some kind of exam today." Alan said as he leaned back against his chair.

All around them the conversations of other students continued, it was a loud rambling of laughter, loud screeching, and sometimes even yelling and screeching, a sound volume that all students had learned to tolerate and straight up ignore as if it was white noise in their head.

Jeannie who had already leaned back and was playing with the food on her gray metallic tray, pushing it around with her plastic fork, lifted her gaze whilst putting her chin onto the back of her hand as her eyes were practically glued to Alan's side profile.

"Yeah, I don't mind. What about ya'll?" She asked as her eyes moved towards the two other boys at the table.

"I'm fine with skippin aswell, not like my grades are going to get much better, pretty sure that I'll be failing even if I had a perfect attendance for the rest of the year." Adrian muttered with a nod of his head.

"I don't know, I might need to attend atleast one more class before skipping the last two, that fine with ya'll?" John asked as he finished the last of his food.

'How can he even eat that shit, it tastes like sad gruel, I swear, dirt would actually taste better.' Alan thought to himself as he barely stopped his expression from turning into a disgusted face.

"Yeah, that's fine with me aswell." Alan replied with a bored voice as he pushed his food tray slightly away from him.

Jeannie who had been looking at his face closely, noticed and release a soft giggle.

"Yeah, no one knows how John's actually able to eat that shit."

Minutes later, the bell signaling the end of the lunch period rang out as the students got up from their seats and started leaving the cafeteria hall and walking towards their classrooms.

Alan and the group parted ways, as he headed towards his classroom, it was thankfully just Psychology which Alan found pretty interesting and so it wasn't much of a chore to actually attend and even then, it would somewhat atleast help him train his intelligence stat whilst he stayed there.

Atleast those thoughts were in his mind, before he opened the door to the classroom and headed inside.

He had turned quickly to head to his seat at the back of the classroom, hoping to stay on his own for the rest of the class, however as he was headed there, he noticed that someone new was seated right next to him.

That seat had been vacant for quite a long time, it was also the reason as to why Alan had specifically chosen the seat next to it. There was no one around him that he had to entertain with conversation and thus he would be able to stick to himself.

And yet now there was someone seated right next to him, and it wasn't just anybody.

'Is that… Alice… mother fucking… Cullen?' Alan thought to himself as his hands at his sides clenched into fists, his nails almost piercing his palms as his entire body turned rigid whilst he kept walking stiffly towards his own chair, making sure to keep looking away or at the ground, hoping against all hope that the woman wouldn't talk or interact with him at all.

'Calm down, I've never had any real interaction with her, maybe someone just stole her usual spot, maybe it's just a coincidence and she didn't know. Yeah, why am I being scared, this is dumb, she doens't even know anything about me, I'm just a regular guy.' Alan thought in his mind as he managed to convince himself of the reality that he wished was true.
However it semeed that reality didn't bend to anyones wishes. As soon as he sat down on his chair and started placing his psychology books onto his desk, he heard a slow soft scratch of a chair being pulled back and a shadow fell over him.

'Ah… Fuck.'

Chapter 24 New
Slowly raising his head, his eyes closed for a moment before he opened them and gazed infront of him and there she was.

Alice Cullen, with a small almost soft smile on her face as she was gazing down at him with those almost magnetic golden amber eyes, looking directly into Alan's own eyes.

"Hi there! I'm Alice though I'm guessing you already know that?" Alice said, her voice sounding giddy even though she was staying in the same position.

"Right, yeah. I'm Alan, do you need something?" Alan asked as he tried to give a smile though it was constantly twitching at the sides, as he tried to keep a straight face whilst looking up at her.

"Ah, didn't really need anything, just thought I'd introduce myself y'know? We're sitting right next to eachother and all, and it would be super awkward if we didn't talk wouldn't it?" Alice replied easily with a smile, not minding the fact that it was clear that Alan didn't want to talk to her at all, it wasnt even hidden, anyone could tell simply by looking at the sight of the two of them, Alice standing before him with an entirely genuine smile whilst Alan looked as if he was having constipation issues.

"Right, yeah… Nice to meet you Alice. How'd you guess that I knew your name though?" Alan said outloud whilst inwardly, his thoughts were entirely different.

'I'm not as scared as i was before… but still, I would have much preferred if this 'thing' stayed as far away as possible to me, still… if she's going to be talking that It's better if i am as friendly as possible.' Alan thought inside his mind as the smile on his face started smoothing and turning into a better and better imitation of what a real one would be.

"Yeah! Nice to meet you Alan. Also, I knew that you knew because everyone knows about my family y'know? And these days it's not even for a good reason, people talk a lot in Forks, as you know, it's a small town afterall and my family is the only one that transferred here atleast until that Bella girl came, and then there's the fact that we mostly just like keeping to ourselves and people have started to think that we think we're just better than everyone else and that we have these massive egos y'know?" Alice said as she pulled her chair closer and sat down next to Alan, putting one elbow on his desk and putting her chin on her hand as she turned to face him.

'Ofcourse people are going to talk when you literally never talk with anyone else but your own family and then theres the rumor that your all into incest and thats only the public knowledge, not even the fact that I know for sure that you guys are either superhumans or something entirely not human. And guessing from how cold your skin felt during that brief touch, im betting on the latter.' Alan thought inwardly whilst giving a nod towards her on the outside.

"Wait you're telling me that you guys dont have a massive ego?" Alan asked as his lips twitched whilst he raised an eyebrow.

A short laugh escaped Alice as she shook her head amused.
"No, we really don't promise… well atleast I don't, Edward and Rosalie might just have a tinsy tiny bit of an ego problem. But that's not me at all y'know?" Alice replied as she chuckled.

"Right… so you're saying that only your siblings are a little shitty, and your actually perfect." Alan asks, his voice tinged with amusement.

"Yup, exactly, see you already understand me so well Alan." Alice replied her own voice tinged with clear amusement as she played along.

After those words, both of them fell silent for a few moments, Alan didn't know what else to say meanwhile Alice… had gotten lost.

Her eyes had turned slightly duller and it almost seemed like she wasn't there at all, atleast her mind seemed like it wasnt behind her eyes and instead in a far away place. As if she wasnt even in the moment at all.

A few seconds passed, Alan raised an eyebrow confused as he kept looking at her.

'What the fuck is this? Is she staring into space?' Alan thought inwardly confused, his hands which were under the table were shaking slightly, he had been trying his best to sound as normal as possible, making slight fun of her words and playing along with her, whilst putting on an amused facade meanwhile inwardly he had slowly but surely felt the stress of the situation start catching up to him.

"Alice?" Alan asked outloud, finally unable to take the silence, however the woman infront of him didn't reply at all, her eyes seemingly passing through him. Her body stiff and utterly frozen.

A split second later, Alice Cullen's mouth opened wide in what appeared to be shock whilst her eyes quickly refocused, the iris colour somehow turning much daker in an instant before her body once more calmed down, this all happened in the span of a mere second or two before her eyes refocused onto Alan once more.

"Sorry about that, I just get into my mind sometimes and forget whats happening around me and all. Seen some people around school call me weird for it and all, I'm actually a bit self conscious about it. I hope you dont mind. Did you say anything whilst I was like that?" Alice said as she gave an apologetic smile, her eye colour seemingly starting to turn into amber slowly once more.

"No… I didn't say anything, and it's fine. I stare into space randomly sometimes aswell, what with all the exams these days and all. Can't blame you." Alan replied as he shook his head

'You got into your thoughts my ass, what the fuck was that? That wasn't normal, it wasn't normal at all.' Alan thought to himself.

Chapter 25 New
"So Alan, where you from? Forks or did your parents move here?" Alice asked curiously as she focused on Alan once more.

"Forks, my families been here for generations, though I'm an orphan now because of an accident a few years ago, but yeah, been here for a while, know everyone and basically everyone and their parents knows me too." Alan replied with a shrug of his shoulders as he faced her.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Alice said quickly immediately after but was stopped as Alan raised his palm up.

"It's fine, It's not something im hung up on and I've already dealt with the loss, there's no need to feel pity or bad about it. I'm actually living pretty decently on my own. Atleast it's better than some kids with abusive parents isn't it?" Alan says interrupting her instantly.

Alice raised an eyebrow, her momentary confusion at the interruption clearing as a soft smile appeared on her face instead.

"You really look at it from a positive side huh, a glass half full instead of a glass half empty type of person, I like that." Alice spoke, her voice seemingly warmer than before, her eyes seeming slightly more amber than before.

'Perfect… he's perfect and alone… and he wouldn't miss anyone… if someone were to…' Alice thought in her mind as her eyes moved towards the base of his neck for but a split second before returning to his eyes, the movement too quick to be caught by regular human sight.

"Yeah, I mean I'm not wrong am I?" Alan replied before he turned his attention back towards the front of the classroom as the professor came inside and started the name attendance call to check who was present and who had skipped the class.

"Alan Walker."

"Here." Alan spoke outloud as he raised his hand for a moment before lowering it and turning towards Alice once more.

"So, I've been wondering, why do you guys never make friends? I mean If you had connected with people more often, then the rumors around your family wouldn't have started in the first place. I can kind of get Edward, when he first came almost every girl in the school confessed to him, same with Rosalie but what about the rest of you? And I'm not saying that the rest of you guys fall behind in looks, just sayin." Alan asked as he gazed into those unique amber eyes that sometimes seemed to darken to almost pitch black and then revert just as quickly.

'Just what is she? I dont know of any supernatural creatures that have amber eyes… I mean werewolves have like yellow eyes in fiction but their pupils are slitted and they are supposed to have super warm bodies. She's the opposite, her skin temperature is frigid as ice.' Alan thought to himself as he had for the quite a while now, ever since he had seen their observation skill menus that he couldn't read, and then the feeling of her hard cold skin, he had been wondering and yet he always came up with no answers.

'Whatever they are… I sure as hell don't need to go investigating, that's how every dumb fuck dies in Horror movies.' Alan thought as his mind instantly imagined him getting chopped up in the woods and then it continued getting worse with scenes of cannibals and bloody smiles, he had to shake his head softly to get rid of the train of thought as he once more concentrated onto Alice as she started to give her answer.

"As I told you, we really just like sticking to ourselves, its nothing else really. We're what you'd call an introverted family I guess. All of us are adopted but we've grown with eachother but all of us has their own stories and all, and it's just hard getting close to new people since we are so used to it being just us. We were homeschooled in Alaska and the move to a public school when we arrived here in Forks was quite the shock." Alice replied easily, her voice soft and utterly steady as she gave a somewhat awkward smile towards Alan as she explained their situation to him.

"I see, yeah I can guess how awkward it must have been to suddenly go from just you guys to well hundreds of people and classrooms and all of that. I bet it was much better when you could just do your own math studying and didn't have a teacher breathing down on your neck about it huh?" Alan said with a chuckle as he shook his head amusedly.

"Yeah, It was pretty nice, but still, I think i prefer this. Afterall, i got to meet you and well I was thinking maybe we could be friends? Or is that too straightforward?" Alice said in turn as she leaned slightly closer to him.

"Friends? Sure. You really are introverts huh, I dont usually get friend propositions, you kind of just start hanging around with someone and after sometime, you just kind of know that your friends y'know? Theres usually no propositions and friendship confessions." Alan replied whilst his hands that were under the table and slightly shaking until now clenched into fists.

'Alright… friends, that's good… as long as she's sincere about it and as long as I dont somehow find myself accidentally finding out a secret like I'm in some movie, then I should be safe, probably.' Alan thought inwardly to himself, feeling both a sense of relief at the situation and a sort of trepidation at the fact that he would be friends with what he could call a woman of supernatural levels of beauty who he was also pretty sure was actually a supernatural creature.

"Really? Thats great! We can do like so much stuff together." Alice said almost instantly after his conversation as she swung an arm around his shoulders and brought him closer with a strength that defied his small pixie like body frame.

Chapter 26 New
A soft gasp left Alan, his eyes softly widening in surprise, he knew that he wasn't even as strong as a regular human and yet he had been practically man handled easily as if he had weighted nothing at all.

'Strong… quite strong.' Alan thought to himself before he slowly awkwardly lifted his hand to her back and gave a soft pat.

"Alright, calm down, yeah sure we can do all that."

"That's great, so, give me your number already. Here's mine." Alice replied instantly as she moved her arm away from his shoulder quickly, causing him to feel rattled for a second time for a moment as she brought out her phone, a black Motorola, the hottest model of the current times, a complete difference from Alan's own shabby flip phone.

'Right… rich ass parents.' Alan thought to himself as he felt a slight tinge of teenage jealousy before he quickly crushed it in his mind instantly, now allowing himself to be swayed by the emotion.

"Here, type it in." Alice said as she handed him the phone.

Taking it into his own hand and quickly navigating to the contacts list, he typed out his phone number into the phone physical keyboard and then handed it back.

A moment later, he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket as he brought it out and saw that Alice had already sent him a hello message, turning towards her and raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"Why'd you message me? I'm like right here." Alan said, his voice tinged with confusion as he stared at the weird pixie like and over energetic girl.

"Just to see if you actually gave me your number." Alice replied instantly with a giggle as she pocketed her own phone.

"Is Alice Cullen here?" The teachers voice rang out at that moment interrupting their conversation for a moment.

"Present!" Alice spoke outloud as she raised her hand up, waited for a moment as the professor nodded and then lowered it once more before turning towards Alan.

"Just to check if I gave you the right number? We are literally in the same school, I'm pretty sure you would see me every day, can't really avoid you with a fake phone number can I? You'd just keep annoying me until I gave you the real one anyways." Alan said with a soft chuckle as he shook his head in disbelief.

"Yeah guess so." Alice replied to his assumptions that she would keep bothering him almost instantly and completely shameless in her own admission of practically promising to being a pest for attention.

'Right… the more I talk to her, the more she seems like just a girl with ADHD or something… quite fun to talk to actually.' Alan thought to himself for a moment before shaking the thoughts out of his mind.

'Yeah, right. Let's not get too comfy… but then again they havn't done anything until now. Or they havn't been exposed until now…' Alan thought as his eyes narrowed a fraction before they returned back to normal once more.

Time swiftly seemed to pass as the two slowed down their conversations, talking to eachother every once in a while as they had to both focus on the lesson if they didn't want to get kicked out of the classroom by the professor noticing them.

After around half an hour, finally the bell signaling the end of the class rang with a loud ringing and buzzing noise.

Taking his books up from the table and gathering them for a moment before hitting their bottoms on the table softly twice to align them and then getting up as he turned to face Alice who had similarly gotten up from her chair at her own desk.

"Well, I'll get goin, see you later Alice." Alan said as his attention was already moving away from her and towards the exit of the classroom.

"What's your next class? Maybe we could head there together." Alice replied instead, once more pulling his attention towards her.

"I'm actually thinking of skippin the last two classes with some friends, I'm a bit tired today and thought I'd just head home and chill y'know?" Alan replied, easily lying about the actual reason that he was skipping class.

'It's not like I can just tell her that I'm skipping class so I can go get drugged up with some delinquents.' Alan thought, inwardly releasing an amused chuckle at the thought of her reaction if she knew.

However contrary to Alan's thoughts about his own successful lie.

'Yeah right. You're just going to get high with those fuckers and that… vermin of a disgusting ugly wench.' Alice thought to herself as her hand on the edge of the desk clenched just slightly, sending invisible cracks throughout the desk from the point of contact, thankfully she had managed to stop just at the right moment or that part of the wooden study desk would have been crushed right off.

"Ah I see, Hope you get better than Alan. Are you sure you don't want to head to the infirmary though? If you aren't feeling well. I could walk you?" Alice replied outloud as her expression changed to one of concern.

"Yeah, I'm okay, just a bit of a headache it's nothing much, you don't actually have to worry, nothing a nap can't fix. See you tomorrow." Alan replied as he waved her off and started walking away towards the exit.
'God, I can't believe that I'm actually able to keep this up and lie to her face, just yesterday I was practically having an anxiety attack, but now I know whats going on, I can actually use the system and become stronger.' Alan thought to himself, almost letting a smirk slip past his facade, completely and utterly overconfident in his own acting skills.

Meanwhile Alice, who had been left behind, was tracking him closely, her amber coloured irises slowly turning darker and darker until they almost became pitch black.

Chapter 27 New
Heading out of the classroom, Alan walked towards the front exit of the highschool, other students were already heading to different classrooms to attend their classes, the halls were quite filled though they were thinning out quickly as students found their destinations easily enough.

Arriving infront of the exit, Alan was met with the sight of Jeannie, Adrian and John already there waiting for him.

Raising his right arm and waving at them, he quickly walked and joined the group as the four of them headed outside the school.

"We can take my car." John said as he led the group towards his beat town toyota that was parked to the side of the parking lot.

"Lucky, I ain't even got a car." Alan said in turn and he walked with the group towards the car.

"It works, had to actually do a few fixes by myself but it's still runnin thankfully. My old man got it for me, almost think that he did it just so I'd be out of the house more often than not." John replied with a slow amused shake of his head as he put the key into the door and unlocked it.

Alan and Jeannie walked to the backside of the car and entered into the passenger seats.

Not wanting to damage the car any further, Alan at first tried pulling the door handle softly however it didn't open or budge at all.

"You gotta do it like this." Jeannie said with a light hearted giggle from the other side as she planted her feet and pulled with her entire body before the door finally opened with a loud rusted sound.

'Right…' Alan thought as he similarly planted his feet down and pulled with all his strength… and yet the door still didnt budge.

"You can't open it? Gosh, you really need to start lifting some weights or something Alan." Jeannie spoke teasingly as she opened the door from the inside for him.

"Right, Yeah definitely." Alan replied outloud.

'God darned three strength stat, weaker than a girl who doesn't even lift weights herself.' Alan thought inwardly to himself, almost getting amused at his own lack of strength as he got into the passenger back seat and closed the door behind him.

Adrian was already seated on the front passenger seat whilst John was on the driver side as he closed his own door and put the key into the ignition.

Twisting the key, the sound of the engine turning on rang out for a while, it took quite a bit before it actually fired up and the car started up.
'Yeah… this is my life, in a certain way, they're not that much different from me even though they do have parents. I guess having them doesn't guarantee a life like the Cullens. Everyone has their own problems.' Alan thought as a soft realisation went through him, usually he always kept to himself, never actually bothering to talk to anyone much, never bothering to look at other people or notice their lives and problems, too caught up in his own.

For a few years, he had basically been going on autopilot after what he could only call the tragedy of his life. But now that he was actually talking to others, listening to their stories and interacting with them…

'Yeah… Everyone has problems, I just didn't notice did I?' Alan thought to himself as he felt the car turn in reverse onto the driveway and then the loud clanging sound of it switching gears as it started driving forwards, down the driveway and away from the school grounds.

Looking out the window at the passing scenery for a moment, Alan had a rare moment of actually feeling like he was living in the moment rather than living in stress of the future or the pain of the past.

"Fork's is really kinda pretty isn't it?" Alan spoke outloud to the three of them as he gazed at the forest alongside the road.

"Eh, I guess? I havn't really thought of it like that before, been too caught up with life and other shit. But you're not wrong, it is quite pretty isn't it?" Jeannie replied almost instantly as she moved slightly closer to Alan on the backseat.

"Dont make out in the backseat, I ain't wanna see that shit." John said teasingly as he looked at the two of them through the interior rear view mirror.

"Don't worry, don't plan on it. Wouldn't want to make you vomit now would I? I'd likely vomit myself if that happened and then we'd also crash at the same time. Sounds like one hell of an embarrassing time if you ask me about it." Alan replied with a short laugh as he shook his head.

"Awh come on, I'm sure that he wouldn't vomit at all. I'd kill him for interrupting the moment." Jeannie said with a fake agitated tone, her lips clearly curled upwards in amusement at the back and forth between John and Alan.

"Yeah right, you're into that shit ain't ya Jean? Voyo or Voyu or whatever it's called." Adrian said with a laugh of his own as he lowered his door window and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it up on his lips and take a deep smoke before throwing the pack towards the backseat, Jeannie quickly catching it mid air.

'Nice reflexes.' Alan thought inwardly as his eyes gazed at the duo before turning his attention away towards the window once more.

"You want one?" Jeannie asked as she offered the pack towards him.

"Nah, I'm fine, maybe later." Alan replied with a shake of his head, already deep inside his thoughts.

'Let's hope that it is actually something interesting instead of just weed. Maybe I'm hoping for too much and thinking its supernatural bullshit just because of what's been happening recently but hey… a boy can hope.' Alan thought inwardly as the drive towards John's apartment continued.

Chapter 28 New
Less than half an hour later, Alan, John, Adrian and Jeannie arrived at the apartment, parking the beat down toyota in front of it and getting out.

"Alright, let's go have some fun." Adrian said with a wide smile on his face as he walked quickly towards the emergency stairs on the side of the building.

Alan raised an eyebrow in confusion though he followed the group. John noticed it and released a soft chuckle.

"We call this my apartment but I dont actually own it. It's just some random apartment that I found was empty and claimed as my own, we dont have the key to the front door so we head up the emergency stairs and then climb in through a window." John explained as the group headed up the stairs, arriving at the fourth floor.

Adrian leaned up and put one foot onto the emergency stairs metal railing and then used that to jump up an put one knee on the window sill and then heading inside.

John and Jeannie quickly followed after him whilst Alan was left on the stairs.

'How the hell…' Alan thought to himself, his mind already wandering back to his three points in strength, doubts already starting to form in his mind.

"Come on, you scared or something? Don't be a baby." Jeannie said with a giggle as she extended her hand towards him.

'Ah fuck it.' Alan thought as he followed their example and put one foot on the railing and then used all his strength to push himself up and grab onto her hand, Jeannie helping him for a moment, but it was long enough for him to put his knee onto the window sill and then simply get inside.

"See, that wasn't that hard, I actually thought you'd struggle a while more." Jeannie said with a slightly surprised tone as she watched Alan stand inside the room and dust down his jeans.

'Right, I almost forgot, Agility matters in stuff like this more than strength does, thankfully.' Alan thought inwardly before he lifted his head and looked around.

There wasn't much of anything in the apartment, an old couch that had clearly seen much better days, beer cans were scattered all around with a random few bottles of liquor here and there aswell.

The smell was overwhelming, spilled drinks and cigarette butts everywhere, it smelled like some back alley and an ashtray at the same time.

"Looks… like somethin that's fore sure." Alan spoke outloud.

"Yeah, we need to clean it sometimes but we usually just get too high and then forget we ever planned to. That's the usual case, and other times, we just can't be bothered." John said as he sat down onto the couch and leaned back.

Adrian meanwhile had already gone to the side of the room and opened a drawer at what appeared to be a small barely useable kitchen.

Turning towards him, Alan saw him pull out a few papers and a grinder aswell before he finally pulled out what Alan had been wanting to see all this time. It was a small green ball wrapped in clear foil and then sealed by torching the ends of the foil bag.

'There… that's what i wanted to see.' Alan thought as he instantly used his skill on it and every other item.

'Observe'

[ Observe Skill has been used ]

[ Name: Weed Grinder ]

[ Age: 3 years and 2 months since production date. ]

[ Description: Used to grind up weed for smoking usage. ]

[ Name: Weed wrapping paper ]

[ Age: 3 Months and 12 days since production date. ]

[ Description: Paper used to roll up 'weed joints' ]

And then finally… the last observation panel appeared before his eyes as alan walked to one side of the room and leaned against the wall, his eyes quickly moving as he read the observation skill results.

[ Name: Empowered Weed ( Blue Version ) ]

[ Age: 2 months and 14 days since it has been created. ]

[ Description: A magically empowered version of marijuana, usually created by combining magically rich components in the harvesting process. The blue version increases reflexes by fifteen percent. After effects: A majorly increased addiction rate. User's may risk falling into the creators control whilst under the duration of the drug's effects. Drug effect lasts 6 Hours. ]

'This… magically infused? Fuck… a major increase in addiction chance is bad… but thats not even the worst of it, the creator of this shit can actually control you? How would that be possible? It is magic but… god fucking darn it. How do I get them to not smoke it. Yeah there's no way. But I can atleast get the least amount of effect if i simply pretend to smoke it and dont bring it down to my lungs at all, and i stay as close to the window as possible.' Alan thought as his mind instantly whirlled into action.

He knew that there was no way that he could just tell the three of them to throw that shit out, they would likely look at him as if he was a dumbass. At the same time, there was no way he could tell them about the system, they'd similarly not believe him at all and that would make them think that he wasn't just a dumbass but a mentally insane one at that.

Adrian walked back to the couch with the magically infused marijuana and sat down, putting the items on the small wooden table infront of the couch and started grinding up the weed whilst John got the paper and filters ready.

"How many ya'll smoke usually?" Alan asked, his voice slightly stiffer than before.

"Hum? A few a day, we almost ran out of this stock but the dealer told me that I ain't got to worry as he's got plenty left and a decent supplier of it for the long term if we want more." John replied as he grabbe the grinded up weed and started making the joint.

'Ah… fuck. They're already addicted to it.' Alan thought to himself.

Chapter 29 New
A few moments later, John had already made the joint as he took a lighter to the end of it, holding it on his lips before lighting it up.

Almost instantly, the smell of marijuana wafted throughout the room, a dense thick smell than stained everything it came into contact with.

'Fuck, thats strong, much stronger than any weed i've ever smelled before. Will I even be able to fake smoke that shit? It feels like just by being in the same room as them, I'll get under its effects.' Alan thought to himself as he saw John take a long deep puff of smoke, clearly inhaling it all deeply before slowly puffing it out as his entire body seemed to slouch back more before he passed it towards Adrian who was next to him.

Jeannie meanwhile had already sat down onto the wooden armchair next to the broken down couch and was eagerly awaiting her turn.

The previous jeannie who had almost seemed to be infatuated with Alan was gone, the sly teasing girl was nowhere to be seen, the look in her eyes was almost mad as she gazed at the joint, her hands faintly shaking, it almost seemed like she was about to start salivating as she waited.

'Shes gone, shes utterly gone just from smelling it in the air. Just… how far gone are these guys.' Alan thought to himself as he felt his heart start beating faster and faster.

Whilst he had tried to fit in with this group, smoking cigarettes with them and skipping class, this wasn't who Alan was. He had never been the courageous type who would go against societal norms, he had never been someone who wanted to do bad things just to rebel. He was just a kid who wanted to fit in with someone, especially after his entire life had been thrown upside down by the appearance of the system and supernatural creatures.

'Did I get in over my head… I did. I so totally did.' Alan thought, fear slowly creeping into his mind as he stared at the group which had in mere moments turned into people that he no longer recognised at all.

They appeared completely different, as if infatuated by the drug.

'Druggies… I, I mean i've read about them and like seen movies and know the side effects… but this is the first time I'm actually seeing it in real life. This is so much scarier than I thought it would be.' Alan thought to himself, his stomach already feeling upset by the stress and fear of the situation that had creeped up on him.

After Adrian took a hit of the joint, similarly to John, slouching back onto the couch, his eyes seeming to dull slightly as he stared into what was practically air, a complete deadpan on his face. He had already forgotten to pass the joint around towards Jeannie, who by this point was in actual fact salivating, an almost crazed look on her face.

Jeannie didn't wait a single moment longer as her hand snapped forwards and she swiped the weed joint from Adrian's fingers and quickly pulled it towards her own mouth, taking a long deep smoke, inhaling it completely into her own lungs, however that wasn't all she did as she continued taking quick smokes three more times without exhaling the smoke at all.

After a few seconds, she finally exhaled, a long slow plume of smoke that instantly clouded half the room as her body slouched back, her eyes finally losing their manic glint, the salivation similarly stopping and being replaced by the very same dull expression as the other two.

The three of them had completely forgotten Alan was even in the room, or rather they had forgotten practically everything but the feeling of the drug going throughout their body and intoxicating their mind.

"Jeannie? John? Adrian?" Alan said softly slowly, carefully as he looked at their face, one after the other and yet none of them responded to him at all.

'Observe' Alan thought in his mind and instantly after the blue holographic panel appeared before him.

[ Observe Skill has been used! ]

[ John Miller ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level 12 ]

[ Status: Complete Magical Drug Intoxication ] [ Intelligence Stat: -4 ]

[ Jeannie Adams ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level 9 ]

[ Status: Complete Magical Drug Intoxication ] [ Intelligence Stat: -4 ]

[ Status: Possession percentage: 82% ]

[ Adrian Stone ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level 11 ]

[ Status: Complete Magical Drug Intoxication ] [ Intelligence Stat: -4 ]

At first as he read through the holographic observation panels, Alan saw only the intoxication status effect. The side effects were devestationg. A minus four in intelligence was devastating.

'If the average human has a medium of five intelligence, a minus four would mean they're practically dumb as rocks.' Alan thought to himself before his eyes wandered towards Jeanies status menu and at that moment, a shiver went through his entire body.

From the back of his neck all the way down to his tailbone, at the same time, cold sweat appeared all over his back and on his forehead, his hands starting to shake more and more as his fear turned into pure terror as he took a few steps back, getting as close to the window as he could.

'Possesion…. Shes getting fucking possesed.' Alan thought as he repeated the words on the status window, his terror instantly jumped higher as he saw the number on the observation panel.

It was changing. The number was changing, it was….

It was rising.

And it was rising quickly.

[ Status: Possession Percentage: 85% ]

[ Status: Possession Percentage: 89% ]

[ Status: Possession Percentage: 92% ]

[ Status: Possession Percentage: 97% ]

[ Status: Possession Percentage: 99% ]

'Oh fuck… oh fuck fuck fuck.' Alan thought as he turned towards the window fully, already trying to leave the room, however before he could, he heard a sound from behind him.

Someone had stood up to their feet.

Slowly… as slowly as he could, he turned only his head to gaze behind him.

[ Status: Possession Percentage: 100% ]

Chapter 30 New
~ Alan tries to stay hidden whilst pretending he doesnt notice that they're under control. Pretends to want some more, and asks for where they got it. Sets up a meeting and time, likely over the weekend.

Standing there, on her feet was Jeannie, she was staring straight towards him, her eyes seemingly dull, the pupil slightly faded and yet at the same time, she looked completely lucid as if she had just woken up in the morning.

"Jeannie?" Alan said outloud towards her, his voice shaking slightly.

"Alan, where are you going? Aren't you going to smoke? You were so excited about it." Jeanie spoke back in turn, her voice softer than usual and utterly serious, the usual teasing tone that would come after such a sentence from the girl was nowhere in sight, instead her words felt cold, colder than anything he had ever heard her say.

"Ah, I guess I got a bit scared, despite how I looked, I've never actually done drugs y'know? Besides, I think I should start with weaker shit y'know and then build up to this. Either way it's better for you guys isn't it? More for you." Alan replied with an awkward smile as he slowly turned his body to face the girl who was standing in the middle of the room.

Looking at her more closely, Alan noticed several other differences from the usual girl he had talked to.

She was standing but it was the way she was doing it that felt completely and utterly unnatural, Jeannie usually had a slight slouch and she never truly stayed in one spot, even whilst standing she either leaned back against a wall or swayed slightly. But this Jeannie wasn't doing any of that.

She was standing utterly still, stiff as a rock, her back and posture completely straight as if she was some kind of military soldier standing at attention.

"You don't have to worry about that. We're friends here, and we want to share with you. Besides, Isn't it better to just start with the good instead of going around and trying worse weed? Better only use premium quality as they say." Jeannie replied to his claim about being unable to handle the strong stuff.

'Her way of talking, its more formal somehow. Its… it's different. Fuck… she really is fucking possesed. How the hell do i escape this without smoking that shit.' Alan thought to himself and yet no matter how much he did, he couldn't find any way to escape the situation.

'The others aren't possessed. Is it because of their body weight and thus only Jeannie whos the lightest and smallest was possessed because she got the most effects? But from the looks of it, it takes atleast two doses for someone to become a puppet of whoever the fuck that person is.' Alan thought as he felt like releasing a sigh however he held it in, he was much too terrified to even move at the moment.

Stiffly nodding his head, Alan walked towards the armchair that Jeannie had previously occupied slowly, his eyes never leaving her as he walked until finally he sat down.

Lifting his hand towards her, Alan showed a trembling smile.

"You're right, I guess im worried about nothing. Hand me the joint, atleast I'll have one heck of a time won't I? Maybe I'll even need to find out where y'all got this, so I can get more if I like it." Alan said, his voice luckily for him remaining steady throughout and not cracking midway.

A small smile appeared on Jeannies face as she gave a nod. The smile to anyone else who had no idea what was happening might have looked beautiful on the young girl, and yet to Alan who knew exactly what was happening, it looked like the smile of a devil, a demonic being that wanted to eat him right then and there.

Lifting her hand holding the joint, Jeannie or whoever it was inside her skin, handed the joint to Alan and then stood there, silent, her gaze fixed onto Alan, clearly waiting for him.

Looking at her or rather 'It' in the eyes, Alan slowly brought the weed stick to his lips and took a slow careful inhale, with how carefully the thing was watching him, he couldn't even pretend to fake it, and so he closed his eyes tightly for a moment as he inhaled the smoke into his lungs for a moment before bringing the joint away and releasing it slowly.

*Sigh*

A Soft sigh escaping his mouth as he did, the effects were almost instantaneous as his entire body suddenly felt like it was floating high up in the softest clouds.

The feeling was good, infact it was overwhelmingly good, it was the best feeling he had ever experienced in his life, and for a moment he even forgot what was happening, where he was and who was infront of him.

And then a moment later, his eyes slowly opened.

And right there, he hadn't even heard it or noticed it. But somehow Jeannie or rather the thing inside it that was controlling her body had moved closer, much much closer.

Jeannie was right infront of him, leaning down, her nose almost touching his as those dull and yet lucid eyes seemed to stare deeply into his own eyes, as if 'it' was staring directly into his soul.

"Doesn't that feel better? And you don't have to worry, me and the boys can introduce you to the dealer soon enough. You'll be able to get your own fix, daily if you so want it. For free even. As long as you come over." It spoke through Jeannies mouth as it faced Alan.

"Yeah… that sounds… awesome." Alan replied slowly softly, almost dreamily for a moment before his mind whirrled back into action.

'No… fuck no.' He thought a split second later in his mind.

Satisfied with the answer, the thing inside Jeannie moved towards the window and sat down on the ground, a mere moment later, Jeannies head lowered down, the strange lucidness slowly gowing away until only the dull eyes were left behind.
