The hours passed quickly as Alan almost felt like time was flashing by him and he was stuck unmoving in some sort of dark sea, by the time he felt like his mind had cleared up once more, he was already sitting on the front passenger seat of the silver volvo whilst Edward Cullen was driving him towards Port Angeles, almost midnight by this point, the two of them being the only ones on the road as the trees flashed passed, the man thankfully for Alan drove normally, a complete difference from his experience with Alice.



After a few minutes on the road, Alan turned his head towards Edward and decided to start talking, make conversation to fill in the awkward silence however his mouth moved before his mind caught up to it and he spewed out the question that he had been thinking the most about.



"What are you going to do about Bella?" Alan asked, his gaze slightly turned towards the man, as soon as the words left his mouth however, his own eyes widened slightly as he instantly berated himself inside of his own mind, however it was already far too late to take the question back.



"What do you mean by what am I going to do with Bella?" Edward replied, not answering the question and instead replying with a question of his own as he kept his gaze forwards whilst he drove the volvo through the road.



'I guess I'll just ask at this point…' Alan thought to himself inside of his own mind as he firmed his intent and then asked aloud.



"I mean, she most definitely saw you using your vampire powers, what if she doesn't let it go? Isn't your secret at risk?" Alan asked as his eyes moved more firmly towards Edward for a moment before they returned to gaze at the treeline passing by once more through the window.



"I'll just tell her that she's being insane, it's not like she can even prove it or anything of the sort, no one would believe her in the first place. What I did… it was a risk to our security however the same thing can be said to Alice." Edward spoke, his voice somber and slightly less cold than usual as he drove the car.



"I guess in a way it can be said that Alice did the same thing however all of us know that I'm not exactly a regular human, and in my case, the reason for exposure wasn't exactly Alice's fault, more fault goes towards the damn Skinwalker thing and the Quileute." Alan replied as he shook his head.



'Bella and me aren't the same in any way, it's not even close, she resembles a regular human too much, besides the increased level however even then the level is far too low to actually be anything, atleast… I think so.' Alan thought to himself as his mind wandered back towards Bella Swan's Observation Skill results.



"She isn't exactly normal either." Edward replied and the second he did, Alan's head snapped towards him as his train of thought came to a screeching halt almost instantaneously.



"What do you mean by that?" Alan asked, his voice even gaining a slightly impatient edge, this could be information that was actually useful, if Edward knew what made Bella special, then maybe he could learn to find out people with those similar traits in the future from a simple level increase.



"I can't read her mind, just like I can't read yours." Edward replied to his question as his hands that were on the steering wheel tightened for a moment, causing a slight sound to come out of the wheel before he loosened his grip, his expression however still remained in that slightly frustrated look as he thought back to Bella.



"You… can't read her mind? And neither can you read mine?" Alan asked curiously as his eyebrows slightly rose up in confusion.



'Read her mind… right so his gift or special ability is mind reading and apparently me and this Bella Swan are exempt from its effects… she really isn't normal.'



"Do you have any reason as to why? Could she not be human?" Alan asked curiously, already much more involved in the conversation that he had been before.



"We believe… as in Carlisle and I believe that she has some sort of diluted gift, some kind of mind protection barrier ability, some humans have supernatural gifts though they are usually weak and not really noticeable, though most of them have… vanished or rather have been destroyed centuries ago now, the abilities usually get carried through genes however most of the people that did have the new mutations or gifts got killed during the witch hunting era. But as for your question of whether she is a human… she is, she smells like one." Edward replied as the car slowly started slowing down whilst more and more lights appeared in the distance as the city of Port Angeles got closer and closer.



'Witch hunts… gifts or rather abilities, humans can also posses them and they get carried through bloodlines or maybe some of them do, I still can't be exactly sure about that part, but they can also come from mutations and someone can be the first holder of them… would that make my system an ability or gift of that kind? No, it's not, my system is clearly sentient, I don't think something that was part of my blood to begin with would give me death penalties and… it just doesn't make sense in the first place. Just… what exactly do I have? What did I get? What even is it… so many damn questions. At least now I know that there can be certain humans with abilities, I should be more careful around them as well now, not just regular supernatural beings.' Alan thought to himself as he turned his gaze away from Edward and looked forwards towards the lights of the city.

The silver Volvo slowly entered the city roads that were mostly empty by this time of night, Port Angeles wasn't a major city with a bustling night life, causing its night roads to be mostly empty, the people having already fallen asleep to get ready for their mornings tomorrow.



The car drove through the main road before slowly driving to the left and through a narrower asphalt road that led to a less commercial part of the city, filled with medium apartment buildings on both sides of the road.



Finally after a dozen minutes that felt longer than they had any right to be in Alan's mind, the car slowly came to a stop, right before a large apartment complex that wasn't anything special, it was in fact quite similar to the rest of the apartment buildings surrounding it, it looked completely normal.



'I don't know if I was just expecting too much… but this is a bit disappointing, considering the mansion that these guys have in the middle of the woods, I thought that this would be some kind of penthouse apartment in the middle of the city, not this clearly at least twenty year old apartment building on almost the edges of it.' Alan thought to himself for a moment before he shook his head as he cleared his thoughts.



'No need to get greedy, I'm still getting to live here for at least a year with money for food and anything, it's still a steal, if only it wasn't handed to me by bloodsuckers but I guess nothing is perfect in this world.' Alan thought to himself as he opened the Volvo door and got up from his seat and stood outside the car, Edward swiftly following after him as the man came out of his own side and walked to stand next to Alan.



"This is it, I'll hand you the keys now and get going, the apartment number is on them." Edward said simply as he handed Alan a set of keys before turning around and heading back inside of his silver volvo.



The sound of the volvo driving away rang out merely moments later and after a while, it completely disappeared into the distance, swallowed by the darkness of the night.



Looking at the fading red tail-lights in the distance for a moment, Alan finally released a soft breath of relief before he turned his head back towards the apartment building and took his first step, following quickly by another and another as he headed into the building and walked directly towards the elevator that was conveniently placed right in front of him as soon as he entered through the front doors.



Pressing the button to call the elevator down, Alan glanced down at his hand for a moment as he stared at the key that he had been handed, attached to the key was a small stainless steel plate with the number 505 attached to it, showing that it was the fifth apartment on the fifth floor of the building.



*Ding*



With a bell-like sound, the elevator announced its arrival as the steel doors in front of him opened up and Alan headed inside of it. The elevator was simple, nothing special and nothing too basic either, it was normal, clearly the building was normal in almost every sense of the word.



'Likely got this in case that they were in hiding or needed a better place to stay in, in case that their identities got discovered or something of the sort.' Alan mussed inside of his own mind as he turned to the left where the buttons were and clicked the fifth floor and in a few seconds, the elevator doors started closing with a metallic sound before completely locking him inside of it.



The usual pressure that occurred when using an elevator soon came and in a few seconds it stopped as the bell-like sound rang once more and the metallic door opened once more… however the floor wasn't the fifth, not yet, the elevator had stopped at the third floor.



As the metallic doors opened, inside of the elevator came a white woman with long black hair, black makeup and overall a style that closely resembled a dark gothic style if not maybe an emo one.



"Hi there!" The woman said as she gave a nod of her head and stood to the side once she entered the elevator.



Alan gave a simple nod of his head towards the woman as he turned his gaze back to the buttons and clicked the close door button before the elevator doors closed once more and the elevator started rising once more.



"So… you're new? I'm Felicia." The woman, now having introduced herself as Felicia spoke as she gave a friendly smile towards Alan.



Turning his gaze back towards the woman once more, Alan's eyes narrowed for a moment before he nodded his head.



"Yeah, I just got this apartment a few days ago and I'm moving in right now actually, though I already have most of my stuff already inside. My name's Alan, Alan Walker." Alan spoke as the elevator kept rising, and then started slowly coming to a stop as it approached the fifth floor.



"Aren't you going to press your floor?" Alan asked as he gazed at the buttons, the woman had yet to press a single one to pick her destination since she had entered into the elevator.



"Ah… your right, I just got a bit confused sorry, happens all the time hahaha…" Felicia said in reply as she showed a seemingly warm smile before she clicked the eighth floor button.



"Right. Well this is my stop, see you around Felicia." Alan replied as the doors finally opened once more and the bell like sound rang once more, stepping out of the elevator and into the hallway of the fifth floor, Alan felt a shiver run through his body unexpectedly, turning his head to look back into the elevator, he noticed the woman still keeping that smile on her face, it looked normal… besides the fact that it wasn't changing at all, as if she had forgotten to remove her expression.



'What the…' Alan thought as he started to use his observation skill however before he could, the metallic doors of the elevator already closed as the figure of the woman disappeared.

So... My first thought was that Felicia might be Alice somehow, and the weirdness could be explained as a quirk of whatever she's using as a disguise

But now that I've thought about it, I think Felicia might be a skinwalker, possibly a kinda new one?

My main worries about her stem from not being sure on how this story will progress

Because in a lot of those "gamer" style stories there's a very frequent recurring "harem" or at least love triangle type situation going on. And if this follows the predictable pattern from those stories, Felicia would probably be another love interest to add to the 'harem', but the death of that bully stoner girl made me think this was more a "one true pairing" type of story, focused on Alice as our MC's pair. But now this new arc promises no Cullen involvement in this new environment, which would be the perfect opportunity for a new romantic interests introduction.

So I'm hedging my bets: if this is a OTP type of story, Felicia will be a Skin Walker, possibly a somehow still alive "Johanna" or a different one, they'll try and kill our MC to either avenge Johana or fix a "leak" in the "masquerade" to stop others from learning Skinwalkers exist.

If this is more a Harem type of story, I still think Felicia will be a Skin Walker or victim of one, but skew it more towards them being a 'good' one, possibly recently awakened (maybe as a comic redistribution of Johanna's powers after her passing?) and they'll become a source of internal conflict as revealing them to the Quillute will prove their existence to them, but also endanger and possibly betray someone that Alan would have all the reason to feel is "on the same boat" as him, being a supernatural creature that just got turned without into one without being asked their opinion on the matter.


Though I could be wrong and it could just be an enemy of the Cullen's or smth.

'What the…' Alan thought as he started to use his observation skill however before he could, the metallic doors of the elevator already closed as the figure of the woman disappeared.



'What the hell was up with that woman…' Alan thought to himself in confusion as he slightly shook his head, the unnerving feeling still persisting as his mind instinctively told him that something about that encounter hadn't exactly been normal.



Turning back around once more, Alan slowly walked towards the end of the hallway until finally he came to a stop before his apartment door, looking up, there was a silver coloured stainless steel plate located at the top of the door, the number 505 reflecting off of it faintly for a moment.



Taking a deep breath, his mind still somewhat back at the elevator, Alan finally lifted his hand that was holding the key he had been given and put it in the hole before twisting it, the lock mechanism made a mechanical noise as it unlocked and with a light push, the door moved inwards and Alan could see inside of the apartment.



It looked modern, with good quality furnishings though the colours were rather bland if he had anything to say about it, the enter walls were coloured in a light off white colour and there was a large couch in the middle of the living room together with a kitchen and other decorations that were either variations of white, black or gray.



There was also a bedroom connected to the living room as well as a bathroom that was connected to the small hallway inside the apartment through a door to the left of it.



'It's… It's pretty decent.' Alan thought to himself as he walked towards the right side of the living room where there were windows that went from the ceiling to the floor and gave a clear sight of the road down below.



By the windows was also a small boxy radio that was clearly quite old however it was also the only piece of what Alan could call as entertainment in the entire apartment, there was nothing else, no TV, no computer, nothing.



'Well… as I said, it is better than nothing.' Alan muttered inside his mind as he clicked the button and turned on the radio, some light jazz music instantly being heard from it as it connected to a random music channel.



Turning his head, Alan looked at the couch for a moment and instantly started heading towards it before laying down on the couch and closing his eyes for a moment before they snapped open almost instantly as he muttered aloud.



"System Dungeon."



The holographic screen appeared almost instantly before him, floating in the air and perfectly located so that he could read every part of it without moving his head at all or strain himself.

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 1 ] [ Join ]



[ Slime Dungeon ] [ Level 5 ] [ Join ]



[ ??? Dungeon ] [ Level 50 ] [ Unavailable ]

…

..



Mentally clicking onto the Slime dungeon, the pop up confirmation window appeared almost instantly before him as usual, however… there was something different about it this time around…



[ Proceed into the Slime Dungeon ]



[ Yes ] [ Unavailable ] [ No ]



'Unavailable? What?' Alan thought in shock instantly as his body practically jumped up from the couch as he landed on his feet, his eyes had widened considerably as he looked down at the holographic screen in front of him.



Clicking on the Unavailable icon, another holographic screen appeared in front of him.



[ User is currently in a Supernatural Event Area. Whilst the Event is ongoing, he cannot physically leave. ]



'What… supernatural event area… what the fuck does that even mean.' Alan thought for a moment before his mind came to a screeching halt as the realisation hit him, something that he had just experienced merely a few minutes ago whilst in the elevator and when he had come out of it.



'That woman… I knew she wasn't normal, I knew it… this damned piece of shit. Why the hell can't I just have a single damn night where something isn't trying to kill me or just mess with me. A single night, it's all that I god damn ask for.' Alan thought in annoyance as he looked around himself at the room however nothing out of the ordinary appeared anywhere, in fact everything was normal, besides the fact that the system wasn't letting him enter the system dungeons.



Hours passed in this same manner as Alan sat down on the couch whilst his eyes swerved to the left and right almost constantly, however the mental toll that the day had taken on him, the fact that he had to move away from his childhood city, that he had been practically expelled and then been thrust into another utterly confusing situation right after finally took its hold on his body and mind as he fell asleep without even noticing it himself.



Opening his eyes, Alan found himself completely surrounded by water, in what looked to be the middle of a bright tropical ocean. Instantly he started swimming towards what he thought was the shore, for minutes on end, he kept swimming and swimming, the shore slowly coming into view, however the closer he came to the shore, the more he realised that there was something on that very same shore, some kind of dark shadowy figure that was looking directly at him.



'Alan Walker… we finally met.' The figure said as it smiled towards him, its voice seemed to be directly heard inside of Alan's mind as the figure had no apparent mouth or face on its body through which it could physically talk.

The mysterious figure's first step in their evil plan? Give Alan a "wet dream".

'Alan Walker… we finally meet.' The shadowy figure spoke as Alan finally managed to get his hands and feet on the shore in the middle of the dark seemingly endless ocean all around him.



'Where… where the hell am I?' Alan thought to himself as his head felt strangely confused, as if he couldn't quite remember what he had been doing, where he was and even slightly about who he was, it was as if a fog of confusion had consumed him the closer that he had gotten to the shadowy figure, however at the same time, it had felt that the only way he had to survive was come and swim towards this very shore, a series of contradicting emotions surging through his mind.



On one hand Alan felt like he was in terrible danger and that the only salvation was the shore, on the other hand the shore itself gave him an unnerving feeling that sent shivers down his spine, added on top of which was the confusion that had engulfed his mind.



"Who… who the hell are you." Alan asked aloud finally as he planted his hands firmly on the white sand and slowly rose his body up until he was somewhat standing before the figure.



Now that it was so close and that he was standing on somewhat firm ground, Alan could finally see just how large the shadowy figure had been, in the distance it hadnt looked that large however now that he was next to it, he could clearly see that the figure was taller than two meters, taller than any other humanoid creature that he had seen until now. He had thought that Emmet Cullen was already a bear like man with his stature, however the figure made Emmet look like a mere stick figure in comparison.



'Observe' Alan thought however… the holographic screen didn't appear infornt of him, infact the system didn't respond at all, no matter what other holographic screens that Alan tried to pull forwards, none of them reacted at all, it was as if the system no logner existed at all.



"I see… you're trying to pull forwards the System right now correct? I suppose it isn't reacting at this moment. As for your earlier question… I don't think it is the right time yet for me to introduce myself completely however what I can say is that, I am someone extremely close to you, or maybe you can say that I am some thing… instead." The figure spoke, this time the voice was heard both inside of Alan's own mind, the words seemingly forming into his head but at the same time… the voice had come out of the shadowy figure aswell.



It was a confusing mess of a voice, it sounded eerily similar to something that had combined multiple voices and then used them simultaneously to speak, some parts of its voice sounded young as if a child was speaking whilst other parts were as if a middle aged man or even an elderly was talking towards Alan. The combined mess of these voices seemingly resonated throughout the ocean and the small sand island in the middle of it where Alan and the figure stood.



Alan's own mind had no thoughts left anymore, they had all vanished, all of them, the second that the dark figure had spoken, it wasn't because of the strange unnerving voice coming out of it, it was because of what words the thing had spewed out, it was because of the fact that the thing had just casually talked about the system, right infront of him. A secret that Alan was sure he had never told anyone, because the system would have instantly killed or maybe even erased Alan from existence had he ever talked about it.



Finally after a few long seconds where silence reigned in the surrounding area, Alan's expression changed from a completely blank one to one a complete and utter panic, his mouth opening up as the shock finally caught up to him, his feet taking him a few steps away from the figure whilst his hands and arms were shaking violently as he pulled them up and forward in a sort of defensive posture.



"System… how do you know about the system. Who are you. What the fuck are you. What do you mean that you're someone or something extremely close to me. Fucking explain you piece of shit." Alan shouted, his voice shaking in pure fear induced rage as his entire body shook, he could barely form out the words from the shock and the fear coursing through him, his mouth turning sloppy as spittle flew out of it with each shouted out word that came out of his mouth.



The figure didn't seem to mind the loud volume or the shouting and threatening at all however, it wasn't like it even had a face for Alan to see if any changes had occurred to its expression in the first place, the figure simply raised its left palm up as if to make a calming motion towards Alan.



"I told you… those are questions that I cannot answer yet, however what I can answer is that I will be helping you… to survive what is coming. Remember this well… when you wake up from this slumber… you will be back in that apartment… no matter…. No…. no…. Matter…." The figure started speaking slower and slower as its words started turning less intelligible whilst the world around it and Alan started changing.



The dark blue ocean around them turning thicker, its colour swiftly starting to change into a bloody crimson whilst the entire world around them started shaking, the sky swiftly changing into a deep purple whilst thousands of cracks appeared on it.



The final words that Alan heard before he woke up were…



"Do… not… trust… the…."

*Gasp*



With a loud gasping sound, Alan found himself back inside of his apartment living room, still laid on the couch though his upper body had risen, his chest rising up and down quickly as he slowly came down from the panic that was currently coursing through his body.



'What… what the hell was that?' Alan thought to himself as his breaths slowly started to calm down whilst his mind wandered back to what had just happened.



His mind still felt somewhat foggy, the memories of the dream that he had just had already starting to turn slightly confusing however there was one thing that he could still remember clearly as day and that was the last words that the shadowy figure had uttered towards him as the world had broken down and he had woken up.



'Do not trust… do not trust what? What exactly was that thing trying to warn me about?' Alan thought to himself, it was at this moment however that the jazz music that had still been playing on the radio at the small round table by the floor to ceiling windows started turning into static instead.



Getting up from the living room couch, Alan slowly walked towards the table and looked outside, it had already become morning, he had likely slept for a few hours though he did not know how many exactly, the world outside however was bright, though not sunny, infact the entire street seemed to be engulfed in some kind of white fog that almost swallowed half of the buildings on the street.



'That… certainly doesn't look nice, especially with how the system isn't working and the fact that another being came inside of my dreams and warned me about something whilst at the same time talking about the system which no one should know anything about.' Alan thought to himself whilst he looked at the street, the static that was coming from the radio at that very moment cleared up as the voice coming from it changed.



Even though the static had cleared up, the radio didn't go back to releasing the sound of jazz music like it had before once more, instead the voice that came out of it was a masculine voice, someone talking formally like a teleprompter of sorts.



"Ladies and gentleman, a military site has recently exploded in the area and the resulting gases have spread, the police and fire fighting forces and even part of the military has been deployed to deal with the situation. Please do not leave your houses in the meanwhile as it could be dangerous, whilst this situation is ongoing, the entire city will be on lockdown. I repeat once more, do not leave your houses or apartments." The teleprompter voice said through the buzzing radio whilst Alan's eyes slowly but surely widened in both shock and confusion.



'There are no military bases anywhere near here, at least none that I know of, and at the same time, an explosion of that size that would have caused the city to be affected by gases would most certainly have been heard, however I heard nothing yesterday. And the supernatural events that happened… wait… could this be?' Alan thought as his mind whirred into action, going through everything that had happened to him until now and then he finally reached a conclusion that he was certain was most likely to be the case of what was happening around him.



'The system said that I cannot enter the system dungeon because currently I'm partaking in some kind of supernatural event and thus I cannot teleport my body out of it. This entire scenario, the military thing exploding, the radio, the shadowy figure and the falling asleep and dreaming of the ocean and everything about this…. It's all part of the event or the scenario… this could be system related instead of… something that is caused by some other real supernatural creature, that would also be why I cannot leave, because if the system itself created this scenario then it would also have the ability to interfere with other system functions such as the dungeons whilst something real like what happened with that damn skin-walker couldn't do anything about the system.' Alan thought as he slowly came to a conclusion before his brain finally came to another realisation, that cemented his thoughts about the entire situation even further.



'And the reason as to how that shadowy figure knew about the system and how I have yet to die even though the system has been exposed to another person besides myself… that also explains it, if the system is behind this entire thing, then it all makes sense.' Alan thought before he shook his head for a moment and then looked back down at the street for another moment before walking way only to notice a note on another table that he hadn't noticed yesterday.



'Not that I didn't notice… that table wasn't there yesterday when I slept, I'm more than sure of it, my intelligence stat is way too high for me to forget something like that.' Alan thought for a moment before he walked to the table.



The table was of a simple dark wood circular design. On it was a piece of paper with a few numbers written on it whilst a phone was located on the wall right above the table.



+XX XXX XXXX - Security.



Looking down at the number written on the paper and then up at the phone, Alan gave a shrug before taking the phone in his hand and pressing the numbers written on the paper quickly and then clicking on the call button.



*Ring…*



*Ring…*



*Ring…*



The phone rang three times before a clicking noise was heard from the phone as the call connected to the other side of the line.
