Depending on how old you're making Blake when she joined the radical wing of the White Fang she might never had learned about all the fanus against fanus violence. Look at how America does it, anything negative gets brushed aside until at least high school. Mangerie would likely be similar because since they are run by the White Fang. Then once she joined the terrorist side of the organization, they would never have taught her anything but the most idealized history.

She might be like someone from the 1960s South, taught about how fanus are better than humans and such. Maybe even like Huck Finn, where he fully believes the justifications about black people are supposed to be slaves and freeing them is a sin that sends you to hell, but deciding to free one because even if it is morally wrong and he would go to hell for it, he still knew that his friend deserved freedom. In the same way, Blake might have thought, even if all humans are monsters and would try and enslave her, she still couldn't kill the people on the train.

Her early personality would make way more sense, she hides her ears because she can't believe a huntsman academy would let her in if she was a fanus, she doesn't believe the White Fang is committing the crimes because they are the good guys, even if a few like Adam go to far there's no way a major cell would work with an evil human to rob people. Her first arc is her learning that the real world is complicated.

So I had a idea to play around with. A way to make the shitty kitty get some character development. It involves taking cardin out of beacon and putting cardin back into beacon.

Confused? Good.

The idea is pretty simple. Blake leaves the train like canon and on her way to beacon she comes across the remnant (heh) of a different white fang attack. One that left a small boy orphaned.

For Blake it's almost like stepping into the past. A small redhead kid angry and hurt with a heart filling with hate for the race that caused it.

Blake couldn't save Adam but maybe she can save Cardin. So she adopts the little guy (while hiding the fact she's a faunus, just until he trusts her. No way this can cause drama.) l. Hopefully beacon is accommodating to single mothers.

Based off the being mission from wasteland 2


There are two villages that are going to be overrun by Grimm.

One is a mining town that provides a large quantity of dust for all these nearby villages and towns.

The other is a trading hub that has a large storage of food from the farming guild.

You only have the resources to save one.

Attempting to save both will result losing both villages.

Regardless of which one you choose over the course of time, you will hear radio chapter of the other village cursing you as they die.

Even if you manage to drive off the Grimm fast enough to help the other village bandits will attack the village you defend after you push back the Grimm.

Jaune or Ironwood's is the first to beat it by (can either the system or not) by doing the following.

Splitting his forces.

Hiring the bandits to help which stops them from raiding the towns.

Forming the civilians into militias.

Utilizing the dust in the mining town and the flour in the trading town to make explosives.

Having whichever town defeats the Grimm first to help the other.

You know I started writing a story once that had a mage with two familiars, a pair of kittens one white one black, named blackjack and hookers.

Story died after the first chapter but I remember the basics I had for the character and his familiars big secret.

It's basically the White Fang equivalent of "Birth of a Nation" or "Triumph of the Will" or any number of Soviet or CCP propaganda movies that make up shit and go so over the top to make humans look like pure evil that it becomes absolute comedy gold.

Blake: "It is not! It was made by the White Fang at great expense-!"

Cinder fall would do anything for power, she thought any price was worth it.

Missing a eye and a arm after that brats blast of silver light was well worth inheriting the power of a maiden.

The rest of it however was a price she wouldn't have been willing to pay if she had known what was coming.

She was drugged up to the gills because every time she was able to she'd start screaming her head off. They thought it was the pain.

It wasn't.

Emerald almost never left her bedside , always the dutiful little minion.

But even when Emerald left Cinder was never alone.

Standing at the foot of her bed was a nightmare.

Burnt and blackened flesh with patches of hot embers seeping theough the cracks that opened when she moved and black pits where eyes should have been instead filled with emerald fire that ate away at What was left of her face. The only part of her that seemed intact was her hair but even that was twisted. It hung down around her head like a curtain limply like it was soaked through.

With what cinder didn't want to imagine.

The apparition circled her bed, skin making that awful cracking sound as she moved. At times her hands (twisted and blackened with patches of visible bone and the smell of burnt meat) would ghost close to cinder, never quite touching her but getting oh so close to her throat or eyes.

She couldn't touch Cinder. But she didn't have to to torture her.

Any food or drink they brought her tasted like ash. The room always felt too hot, like she was burning up even as her lips turned blue from how cold she had the room turned.

The others told her it was all in her head. And maybe it was.

But that wasn't as comforting as they thought it was.

Eventually Emerald would leave her to go catch a nap or get something to eat. She'd exit as quietly as she could turning the light off behind her.

Leaving cinder sitting in a room lit by the light coming from the corpse only she could see.

The maiden powers definitely weren't worth it.

Maybe a little less? They don't go off to create an academy, they go off to create their own huntsman team after getting the equivalent of their Huntsman GEDs. They still manage to pass, barely. Whether this is due to luck or Ozpin - foolishly - placing his thumb on the scale is up to you. Naturally, they don't really have the prerequisite training in things like history, contract negotiation, wilderness survival, etc.

But they think they do. Gods, but they think they do. Blake THINKS she knows how to survive in the wilderness due to being former White Fang, but she wasn't the one to do paperwork, that was Adam and the White Fang logistics teams, which often relied on looting and borderline banditry (think DND murderhobos). Weiss THINKS she knows how to manage the contracts and financial sides due to being the heiress of a business, but whatever ethically dubious lessons she got was years ago and relied on her being in a negotiating position of strength, due to - you know - the expectation that she'd use these lessons as the CEO of the SDC, not as an independent mercenary huntress squad. Yang THINKS she knows how to behave professionally with clients when her only examples of such behavior are cheesy B-plot action flicks and, even worse, Qrow. Ruby THINKS... well a lot of things that really shows she missed even more education than the others. Odds are she burns through munitions and weapon mods like crazy and somehow is a greater financial sink than the recently disinherited nepo-child (cough, Weiss).

Needless to say, this disaster squad carves a chaotic mess across Remanent and manages to squash the forces of evil more out of accident and chance than intention. In fact, they more often than not don't even realize there is a villainous plot to foil in the first place and often do so unknowingly and as a side effect of their own efforts, which cause their own screw ups. By the end of the year, they are infamous across the globe for largely causing ruin wherever they go. Meanwhile Salem is pulling out her hair at all the problems they are causing her, unsure if this is a plot by Ozma or if her own people are just this incompetent.

Also meanwhile, Pyrrha and Jaune are living their best highschool love story and nothing bad happens to them. Ever. And Nora eats pancakes and salt. Ren is oblivious.

Jaune had been doing his best to be a better friend to everyone after the Dance, to make up for being so... Ugh... Cringey. Especially towards Weiss.

So when he came across Flynt Coal, one of the Atlasian exchange students, arguing with her, he waited a moment to watch and figure out what was going on-Even though his instinct was to barge in and defend Weiss.

Flynt: "You just strut around like you're the queen of everything, when your father stole everything he ever got!"

Weiss: "I'm sorry that my father did that! It-It was business but-"

Flynt: "But what? You don't have anything to do with it?!"

Jaune: Wow, Pyrrha was right. Taking a moment to assess the situation is great... Okay then...

Jaune: "Except she didn't."

Jaune walks up to them. Flynt glares as Weiss stares in surprise.

Jaune: "She couldn't have anything to do with her father's decisions! You're just lashing out at her because you can't get to her dad!"

Flynt: "Listen White Knight, you don't have any-!"

Jaune: "She's a good person! I know her well enough to know that! And she didn't do anything, so what does that make you?!"

Flynt glares back at Jaune. Jaune glares back. Flynt sucked in a breath, slowly nodded, and turned to Weiss.

Flynt: "... I'm sorry. He's right."

Weiss: "What?"

Flynt: "I just... I've been so angry for so long I wanted something to lash out at... But it's not fair to you. Can... Can we start over? I'm Flynt Coal, and it's nice to meet you."

Weiss: "..." takes a deep breath, and slowly nods "I'm Weiss Schnee. It's a pleasure."

Flynt: looks at Jaune "Thanks man. That was pretty cool."

Jaune: flush, shrug "Just... You know... Trying to be a good friend."

Weiss: "Well... Thank you Jaune. Flynt and I need to talk...?"

Jaune: "Oh, uh, sure."

Jaune leaves.

Later, Weiss approaches JNPR in the cafeteria.

Weiss: "Jaune? I wanted to thank you again for helping me with Flynt."

Jaune: "Oh, um, you're welcome. I just wanted to help. Things going okay?"

Weiss: "Great actually! He asked me on a date... And I accepted!"

Jaune: "Oh... Oh. Um... Th-That's great."

Weiss: "Isn't it? And it's all thanks to you!"

Jaune: depressed but keeping his smile up "You... You betcha..."

Sooo, I had a new chapter of the Arc Clan to post on my patreon last week... But I forgot to post it last week due to losing my job and other things. Whoops.

So the chapter is now up on my Patreon. I considered it kind of low quality so you'd only have to wait a week to see it. I may just post it for free on Thursday as I was planning since I don't think it's some of my better work.

I did have an idea that Hoshimi Miyabi is a member of another elite family on Menagerie but they are opposed to the White Fang. And Miyabi seeks to be a hero of justice for humans and Faunus.

Blake has a LOT of issues with her. She's been making strides in human and Faunus relations and Blake just made things worse. Miyabi and Blake had a kind of rivalry... But they're also a lot alike in many ways.

Blake: "I envy you sometimes."

Miyabi: "Do not envy me... You would never want to lose what I have lost."

Jaune: "... She's so cool."

Yang: "Super cool!"

Ruby: "THE COOLEST!"

Ren was cooking pancakes. Without Nora.

It was a week break at beacon and Ren managed to get Nora to stay with Pyrrha while he went off on his own for this little trip.

He told Nora it wasn't anything big, he just needed a calm week.

He lied.

Stormhall was a surprisingly old village. Thick stone walls surrounded the buildings. There were about four rings. Evidence of when the village expanded. Instead of tearing a wall down they just built past it and kept it as extra protection.

Ren has gotten a one week job at a inn, free room and board in exchange for doing the cooking and kitchen cleaning.

Not the most relaxing break but that's fine. He wasn't here for fun.

He was here for the woman in the back.

Greying orange hair that hadn't seen a wash in a while, dull blue eyes and a smell like a brewery.

She was as pathetic as he always imagined.

Hed been looking for her for so long, to see if she regretted what she did to nora. She did but it was too little too late.

And instead of looking for Nora what did she do? Drown herself in booze and throw a decade long pity party.

She deserves to hurt and he would make it happen.

Nora didn't talk about her mom often but Ren always took note when she did.

Her sweet tooth was a inherited trait and her mom had a nickname for her.

Ren was going to use that, step one of his planned punishment? Cooking these pancakes. Light and fluffy with plenty of syrup. Just like Nora likes.

He had the plate taken by a different cook, he didn't want her to see him, a long with a note.

He waited until he heard the crying. Revenge complete. All it took was weaponizing the trust his friend had in him.

He took a bite of one of the extra pancakes since he hadn't eaten yet.

How bittersweet.

Miyabi comes from a VERY distinguished Menagerie noble family. Great warriors and statesmen who were pro-human relations and allied with Ghira, against the anti-human extremists. She and Blake were childhood friends. However, the family was almost completely wiped out by a Grimm surge. Her mom died in a last stand to the Grimm hoard and saved Menagerie. Miyabi and her father were the only survivors, and with their family estate and lands destroyed, they lost their power. And with enough accusations of them being human sympathizers, they had to leave. Miyabi joined the Atlasian Specialists, her father became a businessman between Atlas and Vale. Miyabi became a spectacular Specialist and a feared warrior. Head of her own section-She and Winter are friendly rivals.

Blake, to be blunt, resents Miyabi for finding success in the human world and for how incredible she was as a child. She was a true prodigy. But Miyabi would respond, with a bit of anger she's held back:

"Blake... Do you know how many times I wished my mother was still alive when yours hugged you so freely? Do you know how many times I wished my father and I could return home after our exile? My home was completely destroyed. I put my all into becoming a hero of justice, as my mother was. The price is that I can never go home. But you can. Because your parents would welcome you without reservation. They love you and still have the clout needed. But my father and I can never come home. Is that anything to envy me for?"

Blake envied Miyabi's incredible abilities, discipline, and success. Miyabi envied Blake for her family still being intact and her still having a home to return to. The point is not to bash Blake, but to give her some fucking perspective on how big a problem the White Fang is for everyone: Not just humans.

This allows Blake to grow as a character.
