So... Keyboards.

Well, as I have posted on my profile, my keyboard broke. I have tried to buy another one, but the one I got came with failing led backlight, keys which lock once pressed and, though not exactly a defect, keys that require too much strenght to press.

Does anyone recommend a keyboard with soft, chiclet-type keys which is compact (I found out that using a non-centered keyboard causes me right shoulder pain, and I'd rather avoid that). I rarely use the numpad anyways, and you can buy those separated if it needs be.

Backlight is optional, but not required. The uses include typing (obviously), light gaming and maybe tablet input if it is sufficiently portable.

The only one I have found which satisfies most of these requirements is Logitech MK240 kit. Does anyone owns it? What are your impressions?

I use the Logitech K750, though I don't necessarily recommend it because I have had some buyer's remorse over the fact that its solar powered instead of battery operated. It basically means I can never turn the lamp off that's shining down on it while the keyboard is turned on, or it rapidly loses power. There are more reasons to want to use my computer in a darker environment then I could have guessed when I first bought it.

That said, it definitely has the chiclet-type keys, but it isn't compact.

Overall, Logitech seems the way to go, affordable and hardy, at least from my own personal experience.

 

One question though. Both your K750 and the MK240 share the 285mm width. Do you feel the keys are too small? How large they are, if you don't mind measuring them.

(Yes, I considered that one, but its just too expensive and I realized what you just told me... I also considered their "Tablet Keyboard", but it lacks... Keys.)

Can I ask about the response times? Some people say they wireless models lag, but my brother's k360 never felt laggy to me.

 

I've never dealt with lag. I will say that the keys felt a little small when I first got the keyboard, but it only took a few days to fully get used to the keys. They're basically almost the exact size of my finger tips though, so like my middle finger is a bit bigger than them, but my index finger is a bit smaller.

After some time typing on it, I regret not having bought it sooner. Buttons are soft, almost silent (And I'm picky about this, since I live on the middle of nowhere, and even hearing music my volume seldom reach 25% of my 12W 2.1 set), and the keys aren't super small. ABNT2 Layout is stupid though and shift keys are kind of small, but that is inevitable.

I figured I'd post it here so anyone looking for a compact Keyboard would have my opinion on it.
