So I was in a thread and someone mentioned via hidden invisatext within there post that they tried to put a thread they were in on ignore but couldn't ignore it because they still get notifications from quotes and pings.

The easy solution would have been mentioning that they wanted to leave the thread for a bit so that people would stop pinging them but now I'm wondering if there's a way to strengthen the ignore function.

I too have just encountered this issue. Ignoring a thread does not ignore quotes or likes, though I couldn't say with regards to @mentions because that hasn't happened to me.

When you set a thread on ignore to prevent yourself from engaging in (further) disruptive behavior, it would be good if it didn't follow you. Preferably without simply turning off alerts for quotes, likes and @mentions.

The thread ignore function is an addon to XF to begin with, it likely isn't completely well-integrated.

I will look into fixing this after the XF 2 upgrade is finished.

So... exactly seven hundred years ago? That was when Dante published the Divine Comedy, in which the lowest circle of hell is indeed frozen over. :p
