Also the begrudging respect MI6, KGB and the letter soups will have for Italian intelligence, Benito just openly admitted to Stalin that the muricans only knew about the Japanese attack thanks to Italian intelligence in the same way Benito told Stalin the Molotov was less than toilet paper and that Hitler was coming, those alone wouldn't be that impressive considering the Italians were technically a member of the Axis, however Benito just dropping the gauntlet and telling everyone about the Manhattan project just shows the reach of Italian intelligence goes as far as America as well, if anything Stalin is probably wondering if the Italians have tried to infiltrate the Soviet Union as well.

I think the Americans will eventually understand Benito thanking the Italian Americans was a misdirection that the Italian Americans lack the influence and reach to come to the information of the Manhattan project, so instead they will look at the Jewish community with suspicion that the leak came from them, all it takes is good old Albert Einstein going daily to the markets to buy bread from an italian immigrant that often sends letters to his family in Italy and they will connect those dots even if they don't exist.

Multifaceted prisoners dilemma with many unknown variables and all of them could speak to each other and argue IE increased odds that the would stumble with every imagined and hypothetical pitfall and strongly discourage each other from voting No.

In short, it wasn't and was. They wrote their votes, but circumstances made unanimous YES the only possible result.

You can reach that conclusion yourself if you think about it.

And only 3 mistakes:

1.Germans started genociding jews in 1941,not 1939.they send SS to kill polish elites - doctors,engineers,gentry,priests,sometimes even scoutboys.
Auschwitz was made in 1940 for poles,and till 1940 jews were treated better then poles - to the point where poles in Warsaw pretended to be jews.
And jewish elites supported germans - for example,they tell them who in Warsaw was jew,so they could send them to getto - including catholics.

2.USA were well aware of coming japaneese attack - but FDR need pretext for war.So,he cut off oil,and waited for japaneese attack.

3.Soviets allied with germans in 1939 not becouse they feel unsecure,but becouse they were good commies - and wanted to conqer entire world,not Poland.They would try to do that now,too.
And FDR was doing what soviets wanted thanks to soviet useful idiots like Wallace - so,Mussolini could not play them.Becouse Sralin would do what he want,and USA would do what soviets want as long FDR is alive.

Good,we just saved anime! jokes aside - there is another problem with story.Italy economy is simply too weak to support war on such scale,and mass produce good weapons.

For example - germans made about 30.000 of their excellent 88AA guns,and Italy made similar 90mm gun - but made only less then 600.
germans made 30.000 Me 109,and Italy only about 3000 of Mc200/Mc202/Mc205 fighters.
Germans mass produced real medium tanks from 1940,when Italy start making them in 1943 in small numbers.

It is not possible for them to gave modern weapons to their army,not in two years.For example - when MC take over Benny,Italy had 29 Mc200 fighters,other were biplanes.

So...destroing Yugoslavia in 1940 is possible,as well as Turkey in 1941,but - not Germany in 1942.Sorry.

P.S another proofs,that it was impossible -
1.Italian Navy was decent,but they do not their own air forces.
2.Italian air forces in 1939 do not have modern fighters,bombers had 3 engines/Italy do not have strong ones/ , and do not have five bombers,too.
They were big,but obsolate and mostly useless.
3.Italian army had obsolate artillery,average rifles,obsolate AT guns,and obsolate tanks .

What is most important - Italian industry was unable to mass produce modern weapons.

So,what could happen:
1.Do not attack France and England,but ally with Bulgary and Hungary to destroy Yugoslavia in 1940.
2.Attack Turkey in 1941.

And that was all - Italy could made their Balkan league and keep it,but notching more.Well,in 1945 they could attack germany and take Bavaria and part of Austria.
