• An addendum to Rule 3 regarding fan-translated works of things such as Web Novels has been made. Please see here for details.
  • We've issued a clarification on our policy on AI-generated work.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

This place was offline for a few hours?

Going to second this suggestion. A Twitter or Bluesky account just for site updates would be excellent, and probably would require a minimal amount of extra work on the staff's part. I had to go to the SV discord to confirm that it wasn't just an issue with my own internet or computer, so some extra place to go to to be aware of any site issues would be nice.

There are services that can detect outages for sites and indicate it is not just you.
https://sitechecker.pro/ is one decent option.

The QQ staff do hang out in the IRC, and responded to people asking after things.

Nowadays most people don't even know what the hell IRC is.
Hell, I am old and I have never used it.
And I actually remember ICQ being a thing.
No, I remember it being almost the only game in town and then iirc MSN messenger being it's competition.

What happened?
Also, can the staff here consider making some type of Twitter account for updates when something happens and the site is down?

A lot of people get anxious when it is down, it will be nice to know what is going on.
You mean you missed it when the British government censored us into oblivion and all the admins Voltroned together into a giant robot and punched parliament in the face until they stopped? Damn, sucks to be you.

I thought it was Megas XLR......

Seriously though, what happened to the site?

Given what QQ is I'd have thought it would have been either a Franxx or some Mecha from that anime where space aliens were coming here to try and steal humanity's sexual energy.
Other than it having a pretty hot redhead that looked quite well kissing with the main baddie while wearing black lingerie and the robots being launched into space via conventional rockets I don't remember anything else about it, though.
